These bottom feeders just called my dad. They are searching for someone else that shares my name. I called them and spoke with Eric Folton. I told him my name, and he looked up a case. He asked if the last four of my social was xxxx. They are not, so I told him 'no'. He asked if my birthday was xx/xx/xxxx. It is not, so I told him 'no'. I told him I know there is another person in my town with the same name. I instructed him to remove my contact info and my parents contact info from the case. He said he did, but I don't believe him.
LUMG, I know you read this. I know that I do not actually have to hold the debt to have protection under FDCPA. I hope you call again. If you do, I am coming after you...

These people called and left a VM saying it was "imperative" that I call back by 11am the next day leaving a reference number and said if I didn't call back immediately they "might not be able to help me". I called back and they had my SSN #, my address, my DOB, and told me they were collecting on a debt that I owed US Bank including the chkng acct #. The woman "Valerie" was very kind and helpful and I thought it was ligit. She had my former address and said that the Sheriff had already been sent to serve me 2x there and that I was moments away from being taken to court and would have to pay not only the debt, but all the court costs. Strange thing was though that she was available to speak with after business hours in the evening and then called me again at 7am the following morning. Today, I called back asking to speak with her. The man who answered the line "Corporate Office" said she wasn't there, put me on hold (no "elevator music) and had unusually unprofessional phone manners. When I asked what the company's name was and who their contact person was at US Bank so that I could verify that the money I would be paying would actually be going back to US Bank, he became defensive, irate, told ME that I was being sarcastic and condescending and treated me as if I had no right to the answers I was seeking. Finally, he cut me off, told me I could simply wait to find out how ligit they were when the Sheriff arrived, and actually hung up on me!!! I looked them up, and this is what I find. I think these people are scam artists and I am planning on calling the Police. Someone out there has my most confidential information and I don't believe this is how debt collection works. If anyone has further information about them....please post it!

THESE PEOPLE WILL BLOW YOUR PHONE AND ANYBODY ELSE'S PHONE UP, BUT IS VERY ILLEGAL. THINK ABOUT IT THIS WAY, IF YOU WERE BEING SUED BY ANYBODY OR COMPANY, THAT COMPANY WILL HAVE TO FILE THE SUIT IN THE COURTS AND THE COURT HAVE THEIR OWN SERVERS WHO WILL SERVE YOU AT HOME OR WORK AND TRUST, THEY WILL NOT CALL TO GIVE YOU A HEADS UP. SOMEONE SUEING YOU CAN NOT SERVCE YOU AS WELL. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFO, NOR ANY CREDIT, DEBIT CARD OR BANK INFO.
Kevin Sills 2011-11-08 18:48:03 Unknown
This company called and harassed me. They know more personal info and have no idea how they got it. I will be contacting the police if anyone showes up from this company. This is one of the biggest scams that I have ever heard of. They tried to say I have an imagine credit card.

There are people out there that had an income and could afford their bills however things happen. In my case my other half was injured in the Military and became disabled and I had to claim bankruptcy because of the loss of my income. So what you are saying is people that have family members that are fighting for our country and loose their ability to work are irresponsible? Please think before you assume people?s situations.

I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy and all debits were discharged. Ronald from 888-842-2476 called my mother?s home and left a voice mail that I needed to call him by 2:30 today or he couldn?t help me. They did not call me at my current phone numbers they must have skip traced because I have same name as my father but I am a Jr. I called my bankruptcy attorney and left a message and am awaiting his phone call back. I don?t understand why these people will risk legal action when I have paperwork from the court for them not to call or collect from me. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

My inlaws were 'served', but I never was. Similar story to others; told it would go to court for increased fees, I could fix it by paying it all. Just got a call from this number saying, "You have one hour to reach us at this number; after that, we may not be able to help you. CLICK!"
They actually faxed me a letter stating their intentions, but it had the wrong date on it/
Chris Heffner 2011-10-21 14:02:37 Unknown
Too many phone calls, they show up "blocked" and "unknown". They left a message once and called my place of work, it is out of control. They should send letters with legitimate information in lieu of blocked phone calls.

These guys called my job and told my manager that they were going to serve me with court papers for an old credit card debt, and that I was going to have to pay attorney fees and court costs as well as the total balance of $1362.62. They used the number 1-888-842-2476 and said they were from Lewis Management Group, and if I would pay the dismissal fee of $237, I could pay the remainder of payments in monthly installments of $73.00. When I looked up the number on the internet, it actually belonged to two different companies, one being NCO Financial. It also had other people saying it was a scam. When I called the FBI they said it sounded like a scam also and to not give out our information to them.

This person called me wanting my personal information to settle a case. He refused to tell me where he was calling from or what the case entailed.

I just received a call from this company and they became RUDE to me because I was not the person they are looking for. They had the audacity to tell me to never call back and then hung up on me. What a horrible company. Who would use a company like this? They should loose their business license.
Rob 2011-09-22 21:58:54 Unknown
And how would you know about American people. You are a scammer, who may be able to pull your fast ones in Idea or wherever you are from, but let me set you and the rest of your loser scammers straight. If you are being sued, you get something via certified mail. We don't send the cops after you, not to serve civil suits. As owing money isn't a criminal offense in this country, at least TRY to scam with class. Being a jerk, no matter what country you are from, results in no money, kronur, dinero, etc. Loser.
Rob 2011-09-22 21:54:07 Unknown
Actually, you're full of it. Guess we know where you work, eh? And, just so you know, if you're being sued, they don't send a sheriff. It's a process server or via certified mail. Nice try, loser.
real dumb 2011-09-22 21:52:57 Unknown
Well if you could actually read and comprehend, you would know that this guy didn't say to not pay your bills, he said not to scammers and crooks and filthy excuses for debt collectors who violate the law. I guess that means YOU. So no wonder you don't understand.
Hey, shouldn't you get off the internet and get back to the boiler room before your crack pipe gets cold?
Rob 2011-09-22 21:51:58 Unknown

So sad to hear that these creeps are still @ it after they called me yesterday, I wonder how THEY slept last night????? Probably on a stone pillow. Criminals do indeed work "harder" than the average legit person. I have told all of my family, friends and co-workers and had them tell ALL of their family, friends and co-workers to watch out for the B@@@@@@S, look @ your caller ID and google any number they are not familiar with. Hopefully, we can all spread the word about these creeps. I actually had a good laugh @ myself for listening to these creeps. They can really get you going when they use their SS tactics. Please help spread the word, call, write, e-mail your State Attorney Generals office. These guys said that they are in California. Reading the prior comments, I can see they use these same tactics on everybody they try and steal from. Good Luck.

These folks just called my daughter and upset her after threatening to summon her to court, but never told her who, what, where, etc. I called them back for her. ANDREW was so rude! He hung up on me when I asked if they were a collection agency. I called them back, the lady was very nice- transferred me to a supervisor who said he would look into Andrew's behavior. CHRIS MARTINEZ. He said he was from the Legal Department. Then he refused to talk to me when I asked him if they are a collection agency for HSBC. He told me I was "not allowed" to tell them not to call her according to FCC. I told him I was her mother and I can tell any guy I want not to call my daughter- and that I am specifically telling him not to call her. He hung up on me.
It is unbelievable that people have to stoop to these levels for jobs! What has happened in this economy??

Again,I implore anyone who reads this, do not believe these people, I was shocked how these A@@holes try and intimidate you, that you will do anything to not be served with a warrant for your arrest, gain all of your assets, etc.etc.,etc. All of the prior postings are dead on about who and what these "bottom-feeders" are. Do not believe for one second that the postings from alleged victims that they were "glad" that they has responded and not have any further problems. These guys think that they are sooo good at what they do. But any legit company will send you in writing what their intent is. They will even tell you that they sent a letter to your former address and that they got it back 35 days ago. And tell you that they did a backround check on you and found you at this address, well if you did a backround check you will find my CURRENT address. Please do not listen to these creeps.

I had gotten a phone from my ex-husband saying that my ex-mother in law got a phone call form this jerk saying that they were looking for me and that i owed a debt and gave her a case number and that i was going to be sued for a civil law suit. i called the number 888-842-2476. I spoke to this A@@hole and he wanted the the last four digits of my social #, told me that i was going to have a warrant issued and going to be sued for $1500.00, but they would take a smaller amount. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!!! I BEG DO NOT!!!!!!! Scared me to death, said they did a back round check and all these other terrible things. I called my court house and they did not have any case numbers like the one this company gave me. I googled the number and found this web site THANK-GOD. Do not fall victim to this!!! These people are mean, hateful and will saying anything to get $$$$$$ out of you. Also said that they would serve at my place of employment,do not give any banking numbers or anything else to these people. PLEASE GOOD LUCK, These people are vicious and will tell you anything to get money out of you, including threats and intimidation. DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING OUT..
Been there.
