It is collections and maybe you should pay your bills and if you don't have a discover card someone did or does that gave them your number so maybe you should call the number back and give them information that would stop the calls otherwise just pay your bill and you won't get any calls from that number.

This is as stupid as it gets, they have a machine call & just say please call 1-888-843-7307 & hang up. This is Discover credit card co. I filed a credit card theft thru the police 2 or 3 months ago because of an unlawful charge they made. They have the police ticket #, but they have been calling 3-4 times a week to a no-call #. I am just keeping a record of the dates & time of call. Hope I can collect the $11,000 per call from them.

To "Prev Collection Rep" and "Pay Your Bill" you are both woefully misinformed or you work as collection agents and are trying to paint a better picture of yourselves.  The fact is, you don't have unpaid bills or be the friend or co signer of someone with unpaid bills.  All you have to have is a last name the same as some schmuck who didn't pay is bill.  I've received 11 phone calls from collection agencies including this one for bills for a person who has the same last name as mine.  Each time, I've gone through the facts with them even, at one time, giving my social security number, a dreadful mistake.  Nonetheless, not only is it not me but the person they are looking for is nearly 30 years younger than I.  When an agency sells the account to another agency they don't give a list of those persons they've already cleared, so you end up being called over and over again.  Well, what I've done is make use of the callers list capabilities of my phone company.  I will never hear the phone ring from overzealous, less than intelligent, yahoos who are trying to make a buck by sitting on their a***s and bothering others.

Nice one. Why would a company call you unless they have a reason if they are not going to sale something to you? If you are getting calls you should contact them and let them know, reporting them without contacting them first wont do you any good. I know how the law works and you reporting this number without trying to get your number cleared from their records is not going to stop the calls, sorry!

Personally I would NOT do as the last poorly written post rambled. If you do not have a Discover card, there are NUMEROUS reasons (that I will not go into here) why you shouldn't confirm to anyone whom you do not know that you received this unprofessional and suspect message (I too have received many messages that simply say "Please call 1-888-843-7307"). If they do not identify themselves, I would do as I have and report them to the federal authorities immediately!
No truly professional company will leave a message without some specifics, and if they do, they do not deserve our business.
