IT IS AEP BECAUSE I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM 5 MINUTES AGO

That's funny because I get AEP voice reminders anytime my account is past due.

it is not AEP because they called me and I don't even have AEP for my electric service...wanted my ss number

This is a scam caller pretending to be electric company needing payment immediately or shutoff will occur. Read side of your bill, AEP warns of this

there are alot of phone numbers out there and just because it starts with 888 doesnt mean its a scam.

Fedex for example has a phone number that starts with 888. its 888-777-6040

I received a call from 888-850-2244 this morning. I was advised that my power would be disconnected on 2 Feb., 2013.
My power company knows nothing about the call nor has problems with my account. It has no disconnect orders issued against my account.
A reverse phone lookup indicates 888-850-2244 is a telemarketer, so I believe this to be part of a scam.

I got the number and say it is AEP billing. First of all the electric isn't in my name. It is someone name on billing which they have no business to call me at my number. I suspects that it is scam.

It is AEP (American Electric Power) reminding you of a balance due.  It is an automated recorded call.

for the most part, if people can afford their bills they DO pay.  S*** happens. & you're a jerk who doesn't even have the balls to leave a name.

Your info is not all correct, AEP does leave recorded message with this number, if you are getting calls from them you will have about two weeks after the first call before cutoff happens. You will also received a notice in the mail. If you ignore it you will have a surprise one day soon.

Got a phone call from 888-850-2244 and the answering machine recorded the number.  Nobody left a message!  Who is this that is calling us?  Does anybody know?

It is AEP, I just answered it and it was letting me know my power is on the verge of being turned off. Don't judge me - I just paid the bill. BUT IT IS AEP.

This number is calling my house frequently and not leaving a voice mail or any identifying info. When I call it back it doesn't connect anywhere so I don't know why it's ringing my home several times a day.

AEP Ohio does not use recorded messages to tell you are past due. They send you a letter in the mail. I just called them and the real number is 1-800-277-3177. This is a scam and I have started an investigation into this with the police.

It is AEP. They call to remind you that you are past due on your account and if its not paid by a certain day it will be disconnected. It comes up as a 888 # bc its an automated voice call not a live person call.

If this is AEP why did it show up on the caller ID at "Child Services"?

Got a call from this number............it's got to be a scam.........#1 it's an 888 number what company would call customer using 888 numbers. #2 I don't even have the service in which they are referring to.  And last but not least, I never answer a call that is not from someone on my list. I have voice mail if it's legit, they will leave a legit message. And if it's automated then it's most likely a scam.........

I received the call it was an automated message from AEP ( my bill is overdue and they want to dis-connect).

Just got this call with no vm. I wonder if this is a spineless bill collector waiting to record someone's voice w/o consent?!

have received 2 calls from this number on my cell and no one is there, anyone else receive calls from this number or know who it is?  Thanks
