Calls from this number occur at least twice a day. Sometimes late in the evening and on weekends. I have the best credit imaginable, why would a collections agency have my phone number?
Law Enforcement Education Program is one of a number of charities represented by "ACS" - Associated Community Services. I have asked not to be called by anyone from ACS on at least five separate occasions. I am always polite about it as it is not the fault of the individual on the phone, and each time they assure me that we will not be called again. But the calls continue. This time I reported it to the Federal Trade Commission. It is easy online at ftc.gov . If enough of us do so they may get some education about law enforcement.
The "National Do Not Call Registry" does not help stop these nuisance calls and is a waste of time. However, what does work for all solicitation calls (charity and other telemarketers) is the "Selective Call Rejection" feature (*60) that is an option with my Cox Digital Phone Service provider at no additional charge. (Some other phone systems and/or service providers may call this feature "Automatic Call Rejection" and may or may not charge extra for it.) Check with your local phone service provider. Good luck.
This number calls our house at least 5 times a day. It's gotten to the point that we don't even answer the phone when we see a toll-free number, anymore.
Called me today. I can guarantee they'll be calling back. Hopefully a "stop calling" will work.

Do not know who caller is and do not care. Just want it stoped.

I get several calls a day. When I answer they hang up. This is getting to be quite annoying. What can be done about it?
A male African American voice asked for my wife by name. I told him she was not available. I asked what he is calling about I would leave her a message. "Never mind, this is not a company related call" I asked my wife and she assumed correctly that this is some solicitation for donations. I called the number 1-888-851-4621 back and listened to the voice mail, explaining the program. Now, independent from the program:
1) If someone asks me politely, I would listen.
2) If I want to donate for a good cause, I do that to known organizations.
3) If any organization wants to appear serious, they should train their phone operators first.
4) If this has anything to do with law enforcement education, I think law enforcement should look into the matter to keep up their good reputation.
Hey guys, are you reading this?
Just my thoughts
I get calls regularly from this number. They ask for my husband by name, and when I say he isn't available, they hang up. I called the number back, and found out it is the "Law Enforcement Education Program" out of Michigan and Missouri. According to the Washington Secretary of State's office, for fiscal year 2006, out of ONE AND ONE-HALF MILLION DOLLARS ($1,500,000) raised, they devoted ELEVEN PERCENT (11%) to their programs. WHAT A RACKET!!
This is a law enforcement/eduction deal where they are looking for donations. they also call several times/day.
I answered and nobody said anything. I hung up after a few seconds. Annoying.
Someone from this number calls 2-3 times a day. Just an hour ago when they called and I answered, they hung up. Yesterday when my daughter answered, they asked for my husband by name. My daughter asked who was calling and he said "Andre". She asked Andre who he was with and why he was calling and he said "Nevermind, young man" then hung up. Boy did that make her mad...he called her young man! I just wish they would quit calling. I'm sure it's someone wanting a donation of some kind.
I receive a call from this number every day at least once or twice.
