California has issued a Cease & Desist order to AMT Auditing Services LLC but DBA as Mortgage Auditing Program, Enlightened LLC and CRM Ventures LP http://www.dre.ca.gov/pdf_docs/loanmod_drs/H5785SAC.pdf
Here is AMT's BBB report http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/loan ... ork-ut-22302183 with F=FAIL rating and 41 complaints with 35 failure-to-responds. It's been N complaints with N-6 failures-to-respond for a very long time now that suggests AMT has simply ignored all BBB complaints after the first 6.

I received a letter 4/23/12 from this mortgage auditing program located in American Fork, UT 84003.  They state that I am possibly owed$1,497.32 up to $7,500.00.  I was given a reference number as well.

When I called to check the validity of this letter, a representative answered the call and quickly asked for $299.00 for their auditing services and if there were no errors or miscalculations found they would refund the monies.  RED ALERT for me!!

If this company was legitimate, they would find the discrepancies from previous lenders and take the money out at that time. If there are no errors there would be no need to send the $299.00 back to them.

I sense something very fishy and scammish!

BEWARE!!

AMT Auditing is a legitimate licensed business and it is working hand in hand with Security National Mortgage (SNM).  SNM gets some of their mortgage refinancing leads from AMT Auditing. They share the same floor office space building in American Fork , UT.  Again, both entities are legal and licensed in UT

Well, it's been 6 weeks since you posted and AMT still has a F=FAIL rating with the BBB http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/loan ... ork-ut-22302183   So much for "come back in a week and it will be resolved," no chance of that with a total of 11 complaints, 7 of which AMT failed to respond to.

"$249.00 which will be fully refunded if no mistakes were detected" is a LIE. AMT does NOT give refunds, AMT offers rebates and not refunds. Refund means you need to do nothing to get your money back. Rebate means you have to find the rebate form, fill it out, and mail it within a 45-day time frame or you forfeit your $249. If you sit around waiting for a refund and don't know you have to apply for a rebate instead, you'll run the 45-day clock out and lose your money -- all perfectly legal. Sleazy, but legal.

Re. "she said ... that reason they aren't BBB cert. Is because they don't feel they should have to pay them for the cert." there is no such thing as BBB certification. What consumers should primarily look at is the BBB rating, BBB accreditation is of secondary importance. BBB accredited and non-accredited companies can scam victims equally well. You know not to do business with F-rated companies but beware that A-rated companies can scam you as well. A-rated scam companies typically rely on confusing victims who don't truly understand what they're getting into before the sale, and on ironclad contracts after the sale. You want to back out of the contract after realizing you've been scammed (typically after the sale) but you can't because the fine print in the contract you've agreed to is ironclad. Complain all you want, you will get nowhere because business law is on the scammer's side.

The reason she tells you "amt is a sister co. Of crm ventures" is the scammers are trying to get victims to look at CRM Ventures LP's "A" rating http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/cred ... ork-ut-22301453 instead of AMT Auditing Services LLC but doing business as Mortgage Auditing Program's "F" rating http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/loan ... ork-ut-22302183  If you scroll all the way down the BBB listing for AMT, you'll see that Mortgage Auditing Program is an alternative business name for AMT, not CRM, and must share AMT's F=FAIL rating.

If you file a complaint with the BBB against "mortgage auditing program division of A.M.T." (the company on your letter), you'll only be thrashing AMT's rating. It's already an "F" so your complaint can't hurt it any further. You cannot file a complaint against CRM because CRM is not on your letter. This tactic prevents CRM's "A" rating from being downgraded and this allows the scammers to continue confusing victims with CRM's "A" rating as a "sister company" of AMT. Don't be confused -- MAP is a DBA name for AMT and must share AMT's F=FAIL rating. Don't be confused by that "sister company" BS.

Re. "Has anyone actually gone through with it?" Patrick says on 8 Aug 2011 on a similar scam http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-656-9964 "When I asked what is the likelihood of them finding some mistake and me getting a refund from the bank, he indicated that "honestly" very rarely does it happen." and Gailean Troutman says on 19 Sep 2011 http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-681-9902 "they are trying to swindle you in.  They already got me.  Don't do it.  I wish I had taken my time, should of known."

CRM Ventures LP is a fake company because it is not registered to do business in Utah. There is a Utah business license for CRM Ventures LLC https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action/details?entity=7325828-0160 but there is no license for CRM Ventures LP. They are not the same company because LLC=Limited Loss Company and LP=Limited Partnership. And AMT Auditing Services LLC https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action/details?entity=7968758-0151 is actually a DBA and not a LLC, see that "Company Type: DBA" in the second line on the license? What legit DBA company uses "LLC" in its registered business name? Still eager to do business with these "companies?"

Thought it was too good to be true. Recieved a letter from A.M.T. explaining that I could've been overcharged. The average refund is 1,497.32... blah blah blah. I called the number given and spoke to a rep. She explained that the mortgage company I previously and currently had were red flagged and I've been approved for an audit. She then went on to tell me it costs $249.00 which will be fully refunded if no mistakes were detected. I was stupid enough to agree and gave her my cc number. Luckily I told her not to process it until the following day. She said I would receive a confirm. # via email and gave me a fax number to send her my mortgage note. (it all felt and seemed ligit at the time) After the awful pit I felt in my stomach I decided to look up the address on the envelope. After reading nothing but negative comments I called her "extension" back and the was no answer. I left a vm stating my concerns. When she called me back (from a CA number)she said amt is a sister co. Of crm ventures and that reason they aren't BBB cert. Is because they don't feel they should have to pay them for the cert. And to look up crm ventures and see how I felt after that. Well I did and still dint feel confident. Called to cancel transaction, no answer. Finally spoke to someone in C.S. and he said he'd take care of it... We shall see. Moral of the story is- don't trust anyone. It's easy to be takin advantage of when your desperate. Not really sure how it would've worked out. Still wish i could give them the benefit of the doubt. Could really use the money. If it truly was a scam thank u, if not shame on u. Has anyone actually gone through with it?

My apologies. I take back "well, they don't say when the 45-day clock starts, perhaps when you bought the audit?" Their FAQ did state "REBATE FORM MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN 45 DAYS UPON RECEIVING THE RESULTS OF YOUR MORTGAGE AUDIT. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS TO RECEIVE YOUR REBATE." the last time I looked.

Re. "While discussing the possible refund ," you were lied to, there is no refund. There is a rebate that you have to apply for within 45 days of... well, they don't say when the 45-day clock starts, perhaps when you bought the audit? It's going to take a while for the audit and if you sit around waiting for a refund if nothing's found, you'll only be running your rebate window down. Crafty, aren't they?

Re. "He said they are under the owner of CRM Ventures," so what? Posters report the company name on their letter is Mortgage Auditing Program, a Division of AMT (meaning MAP is "under" AMT and *NOT* CRM), and if you go to AMT Auditing Services LLC's BBB report http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/loan ... ork-ut-22302183 and scroll down all the way to the bottom, you'll see "Alternate Business Names  Mortgage Auditing Program." Mortgage Auditing Program is a DBA company name for AMT Auditing Services LLC which is a DBA itself and not a real LLC despite using "LLC" in its registered business name https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action/details?entity=7968758-0151 see that "Company Type: DBA" in the second line?

I don't buy AMT's explanation for their F rating. If you want know about the BBB's F rating for AMT Auditing Services LLC, why don't you call the BBB instead of AMT? Of course AMT will try to explain it away as something inconsequential or a mistake, did you expect any differently?

Re. "giving them copies of my mortgage not, is that public domain anyway," if it is publicly available, then why is AMT asking you for it? They could have gotten it at the same they pulled the mortgage details stated in your letter.

Re. "plan to decline the $49 program," it's not like they're going to offer it to you, you were signed up for the $49.95/month 30to8 Debt Software in the fine print when you bought the audit whether you want it or not. You CANNOT decline it, you are ALREADY enrolled in it. It's a negative option, 30-day "free trial" and if you fail to cancel per stated procedure, they will charge your card $49.95 every month. The operative word is "cancel," not "decline."

You're either a very gullible victim or a very good shill.

I am scared, I got the letter, called the number, and spoke with Colin.  While discussing the possible refund I researched BBB and questioned about the "F" rating which was explained off as an unknown unresolved complaint currently being worked on and to come back in a week and it will be resolved as the other 3 noted. He said they are under the owner of CRM Ventures so I looked that up and it had 1 resolved complaint with a "A" rating.
I agreed to the $249 charge and worried they have my credit card #, plus, upset to see lower charges (149/199) for the same thing. What about giving them copies of my mortgage not, is that public domain anyway??? Just received their verification email this am, plan to decline the $49 program...DO I CONTINUE ??????????

We also received this letter.  Whats funny is they provided the wrong closing date. The letter states the amount of the loan.
It says "Government studies by the FDIC as well as financial audits of lenders have shown that thousands of  mortgages contain mistakes or overcharges. Your monthly mortgage payment may have been miscalculated and you may be due a refund from either your current or previous mortgage lender."
"The average refund is  $1497.32 an one third of the refunds equal $3,000 to $7,500.00...
Also note, "Recipient Case #: A#######

This is further proof that our records should not be a matter of public record. It is sad to say we live in a society where the ability to committ fraud is placed in a crooks lap. Received a letter stating that I may be owed a refund of server thousand dollars from my mortgage lender.
They do not state who my mortage lender is and only stated the name of their company as Mortgage Auditing Program.

Since the paper has a expiration date 11/19/11 I would consider it a scam. If I am owed money on an on going mortage I do not see how it would exspire.

Also it states that I am eligible for a mortgage analysis and refund review. Which means in my opinion I will have to pay this.
I would consider this a scam

I came to this thread from http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/8662590031/2 where Tim April posted on 12 Nov 2011 that 888-852-0486 is the number on his letter (if you don't see it on page 2, it may have been pushed down to page 3 or 4 by new reply posts). They offer a mortgage audit for $149/$199/$249 (price has varied over time) with full or partial refund if nothing's found as a lure to induce potential victims to call up so they can up-sell victims their real money-making scam called the 30to8 Debt Software (accounting software to "reduce your scheduled mortgage interest").

The company is AMT Auditing Services, LLC but doing business as Mortgage Auditing Program. BBB listing http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/fore ... ork-ut-22302183 (scroll down all the way down to the bottom for Alternate Business Names) that states "Wells Fargo has stated to the BBB: "Wells Fargo has no affiliation with this company. In addition, this company is not allowed to use the Wells Fargo logo without our express permission. Doing so is a violation of our intellectual property rights."" in apparent response to the use of Wells Fargo's logo on AMT's websites amtdivision.org and deadpanham.com. There are 5 other bank logos on those websites, are they also being used illegally?

amtdivision.org http://www.who.is/whois/amtdivision.org/ was registered 03/07/2011 to a domain proxy by an owner who does not want to be found

deadpanham.com http://www.who.is/whois/deadpanham.com/ is registered to a David Scheuneman, 2006 Hollywell St, Las vegas, NV 89135. While the address is legit, 702-555-1212 is simply Directory Assistance for area code 702. It's unclear whether David Scheuneman is a willing participant in or unwitting victim of this scam. David Scheuneman does not have a publicly-listed number or has no phone and calling 702-555-1212 for his unlisted number will get you nowhere. David Scheuneman and/or the scammers do not want you to call David Scheuneman. And what sort of a website name is deadpanham anyway for a professional business offering mortgage audits?

AMT Auditing Services, LLC's Utah business license https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action/details?entity=7968758-0151 is registered to Colton Moody. See that "Company Type: DBA" on the second line? AMT Auditing Services is really a DBA despite having "LLC" in its registered company name. Colton Moody appears to want the world to think it's a LLC when it's in fact only a DBA.

No Utah business license appears to exist for Mortgage Auditing Program in apparent violation of Utah state law that requires all businesses including DBAs to be registered http://corporations.utah.gov/pdf/buslicguide.pdf
"Who Must Register Their Business?
All businesses in Utah are required by law to register with the Utah Department of Commerce either as a "DBA" (Doing Business As), corporation, limited liability company or limited partnership. Businesses are also required to obtain a business license from the city or county in which they are located."

AMT Auditing Services, LLC's phone number 888-681-9902 is also used by CRM Ventures LP.
BBB listing http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/cred ... ork-ut-22301453  CRM Ventures LP also does not have a Utah business license in apparent violation of Utah state law. There is a license for CRM Ventures LLC https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action/details?entity=7325828-0160 but not CRM Ventures LP and the two cannot be considered to be the same. LLC=Limited Liability Company while LP=Limited Partnership.

AMT Auditing Services LLC doing business as AMT Division has sent out similar letters offer mortgage audits as reported here http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-681-9902  AMT Division does not have a Utah business license in apparent violation of Utah state law.

Colton Moody is also a principal in The Summit Group of Utah LLC http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/trai ... ehi-ut-13002802 with 1 settled and 1 pending Government Action against it. It has an "F" rating, the Gov Actions are well worth reading. TSGOULLC's business license is registered to Colton Moody as well https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action/details?entity=5394161-0160 If you google, you'll find many complaints by victims who paid TSGOULLC and DBAs many $thousands up front for coaching seminars on how to start web businesses and TSGOULLC allegedly failing to deliver on them.

Anyone is welcome to search here https://secure.utah.gov/bes/action for Utah business licenses.

If you buy the audit, you'll get a piece of paper that may say you are owed a refund on your mortgage. However, converting this piece of paper into cash is quite another matter. Patrick says here http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-656-9964 on a similar scam operation that "When I asked what is the likelihood of them finding some mistake and me getting a refund from the bank, he indicated that "honestly" very rarely does it happen" and that's because lending papers are pretty much standardized, even ARMs. Lenders know what they can get away with and what they can't. Think your lender will refund money just because you have a piece of paper from an unlicensed fake company you gave $149/$199/$249 to? Lenders have signed mortgage notes in hand and will fight you tooth and claw in court (if one homeowner wins a refund, others will follow). One huge difference is your mortgage note is already legally enforceable in court; your piece of paper is not and you'll have to hire an attorney at $hundreds/hour for months/years to try to convince a court that you have a valid refund. Think it's worth the risk?

If you buy the audit, you will also be signed up for a negative-option, 30-day free trial of $49.95/month accounting software called the 30to8 Debt Software designed to save you $thousands in scheduled mortgage interest (you can also use it for other debts). DON'T BUY IT! There is nothing magic about the software, it uses the well-known method of principal prepayment and you can get the same or BETTER results if you prepay your loans yourself without the software. The 30to8DS is a recent version of United First Financial's Money Merge Account that has been thoroughly debunked here http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/741118/ with a Quick Summary on page 1. In fact, mikef07 states at the top of http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/741118/?start=914 that "The results do show that by using the MMA software it would cost me $5070.29 extra" than doing it on his own and that was when the MMA was $3,500. The present value of $49.95/month for 8 years (assumes you can pay your 30-year mortgage in 8 years and it's not easy) at 1% APR (what savings accounts are giving) is $4,600 so mikef07 would lose 5070.29-3500+4600=$6,170.29 today. If you take longer than 8 years, you will continued to be charged $49.95/month. The 30to8DS is potentially a much bigger money maker for AMT than the audit.

This is a negative option deal -- if you fail to take positive action to cancel the free trial, you will be billed $49.95/month and why AMT Auditing Services LLC wants to cram this down your throat. You do not get the 30to8 software on a CD, you have to go to 30to8.com, login, and enter all your financial details into the website. 30to8.com is also registered to to a domain proxy by an owner who doesn't want to be found. Your login is on an *INSECURE* HTTP connection and who knows if your financial info is stored in plain text or encrypted. BEWARE! Do you want the whole world to know how $much you make, what your $mortgage is, what your card $payments are, etc.?

STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THE $149/$199/$249 AUDIT AND $4,600 30to8 DEBT SOFTWARE AND BEWARE OF SHILLS ON THIS THREAD.
