My number has been registered to the No-Call list since 2010. This number calls me at least once a week and I finally answered. I was shocked to hear them ask for my personal information without telling me who they work for or the nature of their call. Debt collectors are required to confirm your identity before discussing the nature of your debt, but they don't need to collect your name and date of birth to tell you what company they're calling from. NEVER EVER give personal information to ANYONE over the phone. If your worried about any debts just pay $30 to view your full credit report online. What a scam. File a complaint every time they call.

This phone number belongs to NCO Financial Systems. Whenever I answer their calls, they tell me that they are calling regarding a "private business matter," but refuse to give me any information unless I give them my birth date, home address, last four digits of my Social Security number, or other private information. When I refuse to give them private information, they refuse to tell me the nature of their call. Today I spoke with a supervisor who told me that they are required by the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act to verify my identity using private information; all the FDCPA says is that collection agencies may not communicate with third parties regarding the collection of a debt. NCO has apparently instituted policies whereby they believe the only way to establish the call recipient's identity is by phishing for private information (they claim it is so they don't mistakenly discuss the information with another member of the household masquerading as the party they are trying to reach...but duh, any person living here who picked up the phone would have the home address). Tell NCO you won't give them your private information over the phone; force them to change their severely misguided policy.

At least twice per week, this number has called our home and left detailed message on our answering machine "regarding our account." The message always asks us to return the call to a specific person at a specific extension. After googling the number, I learned this is a collection agency. Since we have no past-due debts, I decided to call them to find out what it is they are looking for, but as soon as I got a live person the call disconnected.

Today at 2:12pm received another call from this number. I chose to pick up the call. An automated female voice announced it was calling for Lisa Weaver Johnson. (That is not my name, nor anyone else's in the household). It gave me the option of punching "2" to indicate I am not the person named. I did so. Then it prompted me to punch another number ("3", I think) if I wished to speak with someone. I did. A man came on the line and asked for the afore named person. I told him there was no one at this number by that name. I then asked who he was and why he was calling. He replied "Unfortunately ma'm I cannot give you that answer, sorry for calling, have a nice day."

Curious to see if the calls stop now...

Been getting calls for weeks.  Today I returned the call.  The computer asked for my social security number and I hung up.  No reputable business does this.  It is a scam.  If you answer the call all it is, is the recording you hear on your machine, no option for a human to get on the phone.  I will report number to my phone carrier.  Maybe they can block the number.  Tired of phone ringing for nothing.

NCO financial trying to scare me into paying a debt that isn't mine. Every time I call them they're rude, speak in an extremely threatening tone, and have told me that they don't intend on stopping the calls until the debt is collected. It's under someone else's name and they refuse to take me off of their call lists unless I provide them with a copy of my photo ID and a current utility bill. I'm already talking to BBB and my mom has contacted an attorney on my behalf.

If they're debt collectors, why leave a message without identifying who they're even trying to contact?

This is a business line they're calling, and we need to know who they're looking for before we're allowed to return any calls. If it's for an employee, the message would be discarded as personal matters aren't allowed on company phones. If it's for the company, we need to know the matter of the debt in order to give the message to the correct department (or attorney in a couple cases).

Poor (and lazy) execution of contacting someone with a debt. They state that they're a debt collector, but use a generic message for all calls. It makes progress on the debt collection that much more difficult as it's essentially perceived as a warning to the entity that owes the debt and may encourage further flight. If they call someone that's honest, then they're going to be concerned about whether it's legitimate or not and are unlikely to return the call.

Also, there's 7 phone numbers that forward to our main line. Taking the time to have them check all 7 + the main line phone number is a waste of time for everyone without knowing who they're looking for.

Got 2 calls so far on my cell phone; one said they were Enfield Financial, the other used a name that sounded muddled. They gave a reference number to use when I called back and said they were calling about a debt. I have no debts, so I googled Enfield and see that this is probably a scam. Will be adding my cell phone number to the National Do Not Call List. Thanks to all who posted reports on this company.

They have been calling me for months.  On several occassions I have called them and told them the person they are looking for is not at this number, and I do not know the person. But  NCO finacial keeps calling, You would figure out that after several months they might expect there records are wrong.  Oh well I will no longer answer.  And according to my attorney if a dept is not paid in 6 1/2 years they can not collect.  Its similar to a bankruptcy.  But go figure they may be calling for another 5 years.  In the mean time let them figure it out.

I get calls from them multiple times a day almost every day, and don't owe anyone anything. I might even talk to them if a person called me, but to call me about someone else, over and over and tell me to call them back?!?!?! Like they are doing me a favor!?! Please!
Business practices like these ought to be illegal, it's harassment!

Recd a voice msg from this tel# (888) 853-6950. It was a recorded msg saying to hold and the party trying to reach me will be on the line momentarily. When the male rep came on the line, my machine had already run out of time nd cut him off. I called this tel# & found out that this cCompany is called NCO Financial Systems. I don't kno who this person/company is. I figured that an 888 tel# is just a telemarketer or a solicitor.

They call me EVERY single day for about a month now. It is only the end of a message giving the number, no name or company. It just sounds like a scam. A while ago my husband answered they asked for someone else, my husband said you have a wrong number/name and since then every day for the wrong person. We never answer;just let it go to recording. She is beginning to sound annoyed. Starts around 7am to 9pm.

It is NCO Financial, a collection agency. Phone numbers are dialed by the computer so when you answer your phone you get a recording while the call is suppose to be transferred to a representative. They are then suppose to verify you are the debtor before discussing a debt (by law), so if they get rude or hand up on you because you don't want to share personal info, so be it. Guess they won't be getting that debt recovered

Received a call from the above number. Didn't answer; they left message to call back. I called back-I gave them the reference number on the messate. He asked if Joyce was my name; I said yes, then I asked what this was all about. He said about a debt. I don't know what he was talking about - then he asked for personal information in order to let me know what it was about. Was asking birthdate, etc. I told him I don't give personal information on the phone.
He hung up abruptly -no answer.
If it was for a debt they will tell you what it is. Too secretive.
A sham.

Called my work number and I typically answer the phone with my first name but these idiots call you just to put you on hold. So I held while googling the number to find out it was a collection agency, thanks to this website. As this is my work number I stay on the line in case they are looking for my co-workers cuz I like to screen calls for them cuz it helps me get my frustration out for the day cuz I get to be rude. So to see who they are calling for I waited and then after a goodly amount of time finally a lady gets on the line and asks for me. I was like..."Doh!" but quickly recovered to report sweetly that this person was unavailable at this number. She stated a question "So and So doesn't work there." I said "No." I could have told the truth but if I owe somebuddy some money they are welcome to mail me stuff, call and leave messages at my home number and if and when I get the funds I could and might set up a payment arrangement. So anyway. Hopefully they won't call back. My supervisor has been advised also to tell them I'm unavailable at this number. Heeheehee. Don't call my work. Collections agents are relentless when they finally get a nibble. I don't wanna deal with that.

I recieved a call from 888-583-6950 at 9pm California time and I called them back in the morning to find that you can not leave a message because their mail boxes are full and to stay on the line and someone will be with me in a just a secound, a half hour later I was still on hold. So, I googled the name and the number and it lead me to NCO, I spoke with a customer service person in a secound and they said that my number was not on their call list for debt and they would put me on the do not call list. Then the customer service rep said that she could do a credit search under my social security number, I told her no thanks and that I would talk to my financial guy. Was this all a sceme??

Received a call last week from a Yolanda, called back and talked to gentlmen. Collection agency, but no name given. I had received a few collections calls for a medical bill. Those were legit and paid them. I never received any bills prior. This one call was for $1145.57. Asked for verification of the bill, they said it would take a few days. So I told them, then in a few days I will pay the amount once confirmed. A week has gone by and I received another call from this number but no voicmail was left this time. I believe its a scam. Won't pay another bill until its verified or it goes to credit bureau.
