This man sent my husband a letter stating that he was an FBI agent and we were being investigated. sad thing is I was out of work for a while so we fell behind. However we have been in contact with the banks so I don't get why we're being harassed.
I called the so- called FBI agent and then realized that he's talking to me about hiding the car is a scam but yet he's lying about who he is. besides I'm not hiding my car it's in my garage.

I looked into this Investigative office you identified as a "Debt Collector" in your posting. Perhaps this is your problem Mr Gemdreamer. They are not bill collectors. Civil Litigations is hardly associated to third party collections. If you are being contacted by them, it isn't about some Mervyns credit card or Visa bill you have avoided and can't pay back. They don't ask for money, frankly, they don't ask for anything. They are building a case against people who refuse to surrender property that doesn't belong to them for selfish reasons, financial instability or fraud. It's black and white, you have something you shouldn't possess and are going out of your way to deprive an institution of their rights to their collateral. You didn't make good on your contractual obligation and now you want to look into what rights a debtor would have on a bounced check to a pizza parlor? Get real. For you to dictate any Federal Trade Commission connection, such as "Ceasing communication?" with Civil Litigations, Really?? These people make sure you ARE continued to be communicated with because you have something that doesn't belong to you. Whine all you want, or point fingers as to how somebody can or can't contact you regarding you being in violation of contract, or possibly being a thief. I called teh Federal Trade Commission and I was told that this guy is violating the law and people should get his address and report him and send him a letter that says "Cease Communications, do not call me at these numbers _________ and contact me only by mail."  i was told that legally he is only to contact me one more time after receving the letter.

Does anyone know the company name or address?  I called and they told me the name of the company is Central Investigation out of Sacramento, CA.  I tried to Google and did not find, if you have their address please post.

I have also been getting calls at home, parents house (scared my poor mother to death) they emailed me at work, i work for a tribe and the guys is trying to tell me, that I cannot hide behide tribal soverignty and he will contact the council...what kind of s*** is this.....he doesnt even know the laws...the worst thing is he is harressing me.

First time he called me he said i was being investigated for FRAUD and that I was conceling the vehicle...lol its in my driveway its not my fault their repo guys cannot catch me.....Tonight i got a message saying that i was going to be charged for embezzelment and today was my last day...i have not even received anything official in the mail except for a letter asking for payment.

These people are the lowest of low, even worse then druggies.....people like me are just your regular working class trying to stay afloat and trying to not loose every damn thing we have....

makes me want to pull the truck to the sidewalk and burn it....I did call the sheriffs department and there was nothing they can do but he did recommend I get as much information from the guy that is calling and turn the company into the better business buerau.

The best part is I dont even own a car that is being financed. they are looking for a friend of mine. They ARE HARRASSING ME. I just sent a letter to cease and desist...i suggest you all do the same and if he contacts you in anyway after that call the police...shame on you REPO man

I didn't get a call, but I got a Facebook message from "Investigator Bob Colt".  This is what I got:

"Your (sic) are the subject of a Bank Investigation and need to contact us immediately at 888-866-1682 x 2630

Thank you - Investigator Bob Colt"

After reading the posts here I am hesitant to call that number.

Record any phone you get from this guy and send it to the Loan comany that he is calling on behalf of.  What he is doing is illegal and the Loan Company will drop him if they find out.  It is Harassment.

FYI - James Black (obviously not his real name) is from Kihei Maui.  I have his address too if anyone wants it.

Laws that he breaks:
He is not supposed to be calling relatives - telling the any info.
He is not supposed to be impersonating a cop (federal crime)
He cannot do anything to you, he can take your car if he gets it.
Repo are not allowed on private property without permission.  (gated, Garaged...) - Call the cops if they do. ( i did and the cops escorted the repo guy off my property... and let me keep my car)
If threatens to take you to court, let him.
The worst thing that can happen if you go to court is that you will be ordered to give the car.  
With out a court order - he has no more rights than you or someone else.
At the end of the Day the James Black guy is just a useless bill collector that sits at a desk trying to scare people.  A wanna be cop that probably never made it through school.

Record your calls and send it to your loan company - Let them know what he is doing is Harrasment.

This man "James Black" is trying to tell you that he is an investigator, just to get your attention.
That has to be against the law to lie to get in contact with you.

This company keeps calling me after I've explained to them a couple of times not to.  They make it sound like they're cops.  "Investigator James Black" etc.  When you call them, you get the same thing...

If they keep calling, I'm going to the real cops and getting them for harassment.
