I received a call today telling me they were from GPO Federal Credit Union and my account was frozen due to some billing details (details not given-it was a recording) and to press 1 to talk to their security department, I took a minute to think (our bills are on time, we don't have an acct with GPO...) so it repeated itself, I hung up-without pressing 1.  I spoke with my daughter and she suggested this sight, now I'm very happy my instincts worked for my benefit.

I received a call at 12:30 a.m. from 888-869-5810 with a garbled message that said my card would be deactivated if I didn't press 6 on the message.  Needless to say I was not awake enough to do that so I have tried all morning to  call that numbe888-869-5810r and all I get is a busy signal.

We received a call last night at 3:00. It was a recording supposedly from Hudson city Savings Bank saying someone was trying to use our credit card and should press one to talk to security,  I hung up. We called all our credit and bank cards and nothing was wrong.  I also believe they were trying to get someone who is so sleepy they give out personal info.

At 1:30AM my phone rang. My kids are driving age,so I jumped up still half a sleep. It was a recording someone needed my credit card number because they thought someone was using my card, they wanted to stop them. It never said what bank. Banks call you directly and tell you who they are and only ask security questions. Please don't fall for this scam. I'm really upset because anyone half a sleep could fall victim to this scam.
