Sent a chat to Microsoft and was assured by "Gracie" that this was not a Microsoft sponsored call or company and that Microsoft is aware of www.vfix.biz and what they are doing. The gentleman on the phone wanted me to open a remote session so he could "show" me what was wrong on my system. I refused, I wouldn't open up a remote for anyone. It's a scam and if I had let them remotely control my PC I'm sure that it would have had issues develop quickly.

Prank Call
I received a call today from and indian woman, there was no number shown other than "unknown name" 30-1276.  She tells me she is a Microsoft 35 Technician and she has been receiving signals for three weeks from my computer indicating viruses.  I told her I scan my computer regularly and there were no viruses.  She proceeded to keep talking and then gave me a website www.vfix.biz she then asked me to click to allow her remote access to my computer.  I told her hell no I have too much personal information on it and I have no way of verifying who she is!

This dude with an indian accent called me on my work phone claiming to be a mircosoft certified technician and that my computer had 1000s of viruses and such. As I am a software engineer for a large software company, I was amused and went along with him until he told me to visit his website, at which I realized this was a waste of my time and hung up. How they knew my work laptop had thousands of viruses I will never know....

All the positive reviews of vfix on here are most likely plants/fake reviews.

Actually I believe they are legit. They don't charge you directly. They do the work and submit it to EMOTIV which is a marketing firm in California who calls you to get authorization to be charged and you are not charged until they get verbal authorization from you. A few friends tried them out. Wanted to charge them $200 for a fix and 3 years of free computer support and gamer support. Told them money is tight and about $25 is all he could do so they quick fixed him and apparently all is good.

On march 2nd 2011 same story as everyone else. Man with indian accent calling saying my computers had errors. He said he got my phone number cause of my ip address, so I was like ok..... Anyway my gut told me this may be a scam and did not allow him to remote control my computer. How the hell are these people getting my phone number when I specifically put my cell on a don't call list??

I'm in I.T. and immediately recognized this guy as a scammer. I asked him how he got my cell phone number he said that I must have registered on a shopping site sometime. He went on saying that my computer was sending thousands of errors to the Microsoft servers and he was going to help me through it because my computer was about to crash. I asked if I was getting charged for this and he said that he was going to do a diagnosis and I would have to option of having him fix the viruses for a nominal fee. I had to ask him his name, John Peterson (I had to have him spell it because of his heavy Indian accent). He had me open event viewer, sort the events so that all of the errors lined up and looked really bad! Oh no, look at all these errors! He said he explained the errors to me, but he really just had me tell him what I saw in MS Event Viewer. He directed me to his technical website (www.vfix.biz) where he wanted me to connect remotely so he could take over my computer and look through the security settings and temp folders. I told him that I'm an I.T. administrator (I am) and I don't see anything wrong with my computer. I asked him if people really let him take remote control of their computers on a cold-call. He said he does this hundreds of time a day. I kept saying "I can't believe people let you do this...Do people really let you take remote control of their computer..." until he finally said that he could leave me his toll-free number and I could call him anytime.

this guy called my mom and kept saying download his program (read malware) from vfix.biz .

She didn't run the program, and hung up and called me.  I told her absolutely do not!

Also terms and conditions of the screwed up "full of fail" broken links webpage should be enough to scare you to death.

SCAM!

vFix is a scam, do not talk to them of let them Remote into your computer. The call came to my cell phone from #301276, whtever that is. An Indian guy implies he is from Microsoft, and when challenged, say they are a just Microsoft partner (they are not). He tells me that Microsoft has forwarded my Error Reporting logs to him and he can see I have computer problems (that is a lie). He says they will install Microsoft Security Essentials anti-virus software on my computer, delete my junk files and fix my computer (for a fee). There is nothing wrong with my computer, this is just a bunch of BS!

I work for Microsoft and Microsoft will never call you like this or give your information to anyone else to call you, it is against our Privacy policy. I already have Microsoft Security Essentials anti virus loaded on my computer and you can download for free from www.microsoft.com. These guys are scammers, just hang up! I will report them.

By the time I heard the Indian man call his self Alex Barker I knew it was all b***s***. I looked up my situation and found this site and others while pretending to be interested in what this douche was saying. I wasted about 2 hours of his time (I had nothing else to do). This is two hours of him no scamming some poor gullible senior or something. I reported this straight to the Fbi. I told him that this call was being traced by the Cia after about two hours and he hung up.

An Indian guy called and told me that he was a tech from Microsoft and that over the past few days I had 3,477  critical issues with my PC.  He had me go to thier website and wanted me to provide my ID#.  Not thinking I started to do this.  When he said "This will show you that I am who I say I am" a red flag went up.  It then dawned on me that the call came from a private caller.  I started looking on line and saw where you guys had posted his fraudulant info and told him I would have to call him back.  Which I will not do.  So thanks, you saved me from doing something stupid.

The day before this happened my PC went wireless and I think that is the corralation in this instance.

Just got a similar call today from an Indian guy named "Collin" telling me hes been receiving error messages from my computer and they sent him my phone number.  He was then requesting to remotely access my computer. He said that if Microsoft sees that the errors are not because of user error that I wouldnt be charged anything to fix them and that its a service they offer to customers.  I read right through it, total scam.

I got the same type of call today.  I have been having some problems so I at first thought it was legit.  However, when asked to purchase a product and pressed "John Peterson" further.  He admitted he was not with Microsoft just trained in their products.  I passed on the purchase.  The return number given to me was 888 851-0953.  I reported his to Microsoft.  They advised that some criminal organizations are using the Microsoft name to gain confidence.  My anti-virus says I am secure but with the remote access I wonder if anything was compromised.

BE CAREFUL.  WANTED REMOTE ACCESS.

I got a call from Vfix.biz this am, a woman with Indian accent who called herself Nancy (# WAS TOTALLY BLOCKED THIS TIME.)  Said she got my data from Microsoft and they contracted with them (I asked them specifically, as I am an old lawyer) and told me they'd gotten my error log and were calling to fix it.  My computer runs vista, about 5yo, and I have never had it in the shop; I can work through regedit, etc. and get it done  I also have encryption, very good spyware/antivirus security (I work on my computer, financial and legal work, that is highly sensitive) and have gotten 'hack warnings' when someone has tried to hack in; kills my internet connection and shuts down.)  She took me to their website, had me open the useless event viewer, and tried to scare the wits outta me with all the BS 'event logs, then wanted REMOTE ACCESS.  (I've only done that once, with a dell rep.  NO ONE HAS REMOTE ACCESS.)  Then started the sales job (no one gets my credit info, eiither.)

THEY SAID OPENLY THEY WERE RELAYED THE DATA BY MICROSOFT.  THAT'S HORSESH*T.

REMOTE ACCESS WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM ACCESS TO REALLY SENSITIVE FINANCIAL AND LEGAL DATA (NOT JUST MINE.)  I'VE ALREADY HAD SEVERAL ID THEFTS AND MY BANK ACCOUNT HACKED.  I THINK THEY'RE TRYING SEVERAL DIFFERENT WAYS TO GET MONEY/DATA.

Same Story. My indian guy was name Daniel. It sounded too much like a scam from the beginning. Unfortunately, I was quite curious as to what he was going to show me. From Event Viewers to the errors and then vfix.biz. I went as far as to allow him to take control of my computer and gave him my IP address. I feel quite stupid now. He deleted some random files, but other than that not much. I told him I didn't want his service at the end. I wonder how much of an impact will this have on my computer after he took control of it. FUKKK.

Chris (obviously not your real name) I know you will read this.

Message to the general public;

The man has an Indian accent that is perseptible but slight. His english is proficient. His manner of speech and vocabulary indicate much time spent in the United States.  He is obviously educated and quick thinking. His voice is soft, he is courteous and polite. The only indication something is wrong is not right is the veiled frustration in his voice when tasks are not performed as quickly as ho would like.

The call my wife received had the real phone number blocked and identified as all zero's.
I had been experiencing difficulty with my computer recently. Specifically Internet Explorer would
lock-up regularly and I would dutifully sent the reports off to Microsoft. I recieved several offers to update Internet Explorer 7 which I Ignored becauseI am running Internet Explorer 8. While online every keystroke or mouse movement was delayed or jerky. Typed characters would be missing.

Message to Microsoft;
This man represented himself as being affiliated with microsoft. The reason he was calling me was because of the over one thousand error messages Microsoft recieved in one day from my computer.

Message to Kasperski Internet Security;

This Gentleman stated your product is not completely compatible with Microsoft and that his service at vFix.biz is completely compatible. I should immediately switch to his service since Kasperski was not doing it"s job and cannot protect my computer.

Message to the FBI;

I believe the problems my computer was experiencing were caused by this man who offered to protect my computer for a large regular payment to vfix.biz. I also believe he erased the tracks of his activities from my computer when I would not pay him.

Message to Chris;

You are obviously a very well educated and intelligent individual. You possess the ability to live very comfortably without supplimenting your income in this way. Turn from it.  I and others who read this, will pray for you.

These guys called me too and stated that Microsoft told him that my computer had issues and he was supposed to call me to correct the problem. I was busy so I told them to call back. I had time to research these guys and realized that they are an online computer repair company. They are aggressive in trying to sell their service. I asked them to stop calling but would not stop. They continued to call another 5 - 6 times until I finally said that I was going to call the the attorney general to file harassment charges. The supervisor called and said they would not call again and out of no where stated that we should not call them again. Unbelieveable......Look elsewhere if you need computer service because they will not STOP BOTHERING you.
