Debt Collector
I called this number as it was on correspondence identified as Bank of America Home Loans. I have a loan with Bank of America and the correspondence had my correct loan account number on it and it was regarding a delinquent payment......... I did not have any delinquent payments so I called, there was a recording saying something about a debt collector, verified some information...... and then they dropped my call and I couldn't get them back on the line. Now I am concerned that this might be some sort of a scan.

I finally got tired of dealing with all these peoples bs and the bs from sweepstakes claiming we have won millions of bucks, so I changed our landline to a new unlisted number. So they called my husband's cell. His regular phone is on for repairs and his loaner is acting up so I had it to take it in for repairs.

My husband is in a nursing home right now and there isn't a thing he can do.

We are not behind on anything but one credit card and they know that the first of the month it will be paid off in full. We sure aren't behind in our mortgage payments, in fact we are two months ahead.

I hate scammers.

I had this number twice, 888-872-6514, Loan Council Dept. Recorded voice, something about Home Retention Division.  I think it's interesting that some of you have mentioned AK USA as the supposed caller.  I refinanced recently with AK USA, and the day before I was ready to make my first payment I received a letter that my loan had been assigned to US Bank.  So I walked into the nearest US Bank Branch with the letter, and sure enough, they had my loan. I paid, and thought nothing about it.  However, I noticed my bank account with AK USA still shows my mortgage on it.  I guess I better go to my AK USA and ask what is up with that if they think I owe them money.  NOT!!

I have recieved 2 calls so far from this #, both times they said it was Alaska USA and they wanted to verify my ID with the last 4 of my SSN... yeah right! I told them I was not giving them that info since I did not know who they are.  They told me to call the same # they called my from back so I could verify it was legit ... RIGHT ... like I'm going to call the same # ... Anyhoo, I called Alaska USA and they didn't know what the # was but they called it back and suposedly it is a dept collector, however all of my Alaska accounts were paid ... doesn't make sense.

I had the same problem as Karen above. Non professional person on other end. Hesitating at the "Alaska USA" answer and not giving any more information. The call was for my husband so they want him to call them back...not. HA! joke's on you.

That's interesting that someone is saying that they said they were from H&R Block Home Mortgage because they just told me they were from Bank of America and they wanted my account #.  The loop in the phone system kept asking me for a non-existant account number so I input 123456 and then was insistant to talk to a person.  By saying that those numbers were my acct number, they finally connected me to someone who would not identify themself and would not transfer me to a supervisor when I asked.  They put me on hold and then all of a sudden they were closed.  Strange

I always answer the phone with an simple hello. I waited a moment and then a woman's voice sounded (recorded) with something like "This is an important phone call; please wait a moment." I waited (why not) and about five seconds later it repeated. 6 seconds it did again. 8 seconds; again. The wait time wasn't the same and it sounded like a tape recorder. Then they just hung up.

Same as above. Why does the phone company allow some a-hole to keep doing this? No one is ever there to answer.

I keep getting calls from here. Tonight the lady said she was "with Bank of America," "opps, I mean Alaska USA Credit Union". I have 2 mortgages with Alaska USA. She said she wanted to " go over your account." I asked why? She said because I was past due. I'm not. I told her I didn't want to discuss my account with her and if Alaska USA wanted to talk to me they would call. I hung up and called the credit union. They told me they have no affiliation with Bank of America . They did not know this # or who called me. The Credit Union said it was not them but they would check into the phone number. I received 3 more calls from this number after that. All within the next hour. My phone would ring 2 times and when I answered I got a dial tone.

I received a message that said to call back. When I called back said was from "Home retention center." VM asked for my loan number. Press 1 if you have it 2 if you don't. I pressed 2 and asked me again about three times. Then switched to me to their hours and fax number and address in Simi Valley. My mortgage holder is not there and I am current. Not sure what it is about.

They keep calling and finally left a msg saying they are home retention center and they are calling to collect a debt. When I called back they want my loan number and that if I did not have it they would take my social security number.  FRAUD!  I am current on my home loan and have nothing to do with them.   They just want your SS number... be careful!

I received two calls on my cell phone two days in a row without anyone leaving a message.  I then became suspicious and called the number from a blocked line.  The CSR asked me for my loan number and I stated I didn't have a loan number that someone had been calling without leaving a message.  She stated that because of "regulations" a message couldn't be left and then tried to get my property address and mortgage information.  This is pretty predatory if you ask me.  Perhaps we should certify a class action against these idiots.

I actually waited till someone picked up on their end and they had the wrong person. They would not tell me who they were and I told them to take my name off their list.

The screen identifies them as "Loan Council Department".

They called back again, only this time with no identifier.

I answered the phone, said hello, and then heard "this is an important phone call, wait one moment please." They said it a few times and the wait time in between wasn't the same. I counted about 6 once, then 8. Another a little shorter than those. It sounded as if someone was pushing play and then stop. Play and then stop.
