We have been receiving calls from this number for the past couple of weeks and at all times of the day/night. I had been ignoring the call and letting the answering machine take the calls but they NEVER leave a message. This week though they have been calling during my baby's nap time which is annoying b/c this could wake her up. I also received a call just a few mins after 8am (which my baby is still sleeping at that time) this morning and now just a few mins ago (which AGAIN is during her naptime!) so I answered w/a very gruff "Hello!" and the girl on the other end timidly said "Hello" and I again said "Hello" and she hung up on me. That really pissed me off!! I tried calling the # back but it was busy. Seems like other people are being harrassed as well.

I get a call from them at least 5 times a day at work.  They never leave a message and so I figure if you don't leave a message then I will not talk to you.  I cannot accept calls at work and have an unlisted number at home and wonder how they still get my home number.  No message, no talk.  End of discussion.  When you call back you get someone you cannot understand.  Not worth the aggravation.

if you answer you are just making it easier for them to sue you. do not answer pay up the bill asap and all will be ok.

I received my third call this evening from this place.  My husband ignored the phone twice before because it kept coming up "unknown number."  The woman that called was very abrupt with me and insisted on speaking to my husband (who was sleeping because he had worked midnight shift).  She refused to release to me where she was calling calling, or explain, in any way, why she needed to talk with my husband.  I told her that my husband and step-son both have the same name, but she would accept no information from, or provide me with any.  I had to wake my husband up and have him give the woman permission to speak to me on his behalf.  After doing so, it was immediately clear that she wanted my step-son!  My husband was very (I mean VERY) angry.  It seems clear from looking at the comments that this company is trying to act like they are a collection agency, but when I asked her if they were, I was told "no."  It seems rather fraudulent to me!

I am so tired of this number calling my cell phone.  If it doesn't stop, and since I am on a "do not call" list, I'm ready to sue them.

These people call me all the time starting at 8:13 in the morning.  They never say anything.  So I decided to call them back...I got a rep stating that she was working on behalf of Capitol One and before she could tell me what the matter was about or why they are calling, they need to verify my 16 digit credit card number, my date of birth, full name and Social Security number.  What moron would actually give that info out to anyone over the phone?  You should never under any circumstances, give that info out unless you initiated the call and know exactly who you are calling.  Besides, credit card companies will only ask you to verify your address and the last 4 digits of your social, not the whole thing.

I received call from 888 872 7809. I do not answer and they do not leave a message

They called my exwife because I use her address and phone number sometimes and never say what they want ask for me by full name.

No one responds when we pick up.  Two calls today.

well i just got a new cell phone a couple of days ago and the first call i receive is from this number 1-888-872-7809. They have been calling me for the past few days about 3-4 times a day. I just called this number today and a woman answered. She said she was from capital one. I told her that i don't even have an account with capital one.  I told that lady to not call me again. She said she wasn't but who knows.

Call frequently from early AM to late PM, don't leave a message, don't answer right away when I answer... solicitation?  Very annoying!!

They called me 7 times in 2 days and said they were allied investigation representing Capital One.  They told me the computer called me in error and to disregard the call, another time they asked for my account number or social security number I would not give it to them.  Next time I explained I have never been late on my payments to Capital one so they said  "Never mind" and hung up. On the 7th call I talked to a supervisor (I had to call back because they hung up on me the first time) i told him not to ever call me again  he  YELLED at me and told me that he wouldn't  I told him if he did i would report him.

This number calls us every day at least 3 times starting at 8:47am.  I finally answered the other day to find out who they were.  They keep asking for Jeffrey.  I tell them there is no one here by that name and to take my number off their list.  They still keep calling.  Today I kept asking who they were.  The lady who said her name was Sherry very rudely just kept telling me it must have been a wrong number and she misdialed.  Right--they misdial for months at a time 3 times a day?  I don't think so!  IT IS ANNOYING!  She said something about being from Allied Enterprises???

This number calls me 3-4 times a day, in the morning, afternoon and up until 8-9pm.  I have called back 3 times in the last week telling them to remove my number from their system.  The last witch, as did the previous "customer service reps" told me my number is not in their system but they would have it "removed".  Hmmm, how can that be??  I'm going back to putting the call on speaker and leaving next to the TV.

These people call me everyday, today they have called me at least 9 or 10 times. They call from different numbers and never leave a message. They call sometimes from 7:57am until 1:30 am. Very annoying.

Best way to get them to stop.  When they ask for "John Doe" is to reply with "John Doe was a tennant of mine who ran out owing me money.  If you know where he is I would love to have that information."  They'll reply with sorry to have bothered you and the calls from them will cease.

Calls from this number reach the estate telephone number several times a day.  No message is ever left.  Once I called back to see who it was, and they demanded a 16-digit account number without identifying what firm was represented.  Because the estate in question had no credit card accounts of any kind, I requested that they remove the estate telephone number from their records, and ended the call.

Recieved 4-5 calls daily, shows up as capital one, finally today i decided to answer. Yes I had a capital one card that I defaulted on, but paid off in 2003. PAID OFF IN FULL TO THE COLLECTION AGENCY. have not heard hide nor hair of a capital one account since besides the "pre qualified" mailers they send. The girl on the other end of the phone immediately asked for my capital one account number, I told her I had no such account number as I am not a capital one customer, she apologized and stated it can take up to 24 hours for the system to remove the number.

It's capital one collection department- My 10 year old goy a new cell phone for Christmas- Capital One was trying to reach her former cell owner- a deadbeat!

Wow, reading all these comments about this obviously evil bill collector....I don't have nor have I ever had a capitol one account or card.  After seeing this, not only will I never bank with them, I'll be telling all my friends to drop them.
I get calls maybe 4-5 times a day but never answer; my rule of thumb is I pay for my phone, it's a convenience for me, not for someone else.  If I don't know the number, I don't answer.
I did some checking: Allied Interstate *bought* paper from Capitol One and will exhaust every means to collect on a debt that has *already* been repaid...They use a loophole in the lending laws to collect more...just so you know!

I just started getting calls from this number.  I called them back and they said it had something to do with a Capital One account.  I used to have one a couple years ago but it's already been paid off and closed.  I called Capital One directly and asked them what was going on.  They apologize and put me on hold for a couple minutes to remove my name from the "capital one list."  I asked her what this "list" was and she said it was for telemarketing.  This does not (and should not) affect your credit.  I suggest calling Capital One directly and having them resolve the issue for you.

These people are ass-oles. All they want is your account number so they can rip you off. I have repeatedly insulted them and demanded that I be removed ffrom their list. They just keep calling back.

I figured out that these guys have an automated system that just makes phone calls after 8am  (Saturday morning) with no intentions of answering it.  They told me that their system was broken but after reading everyones response I think they do this intentionally.  The only thing they have on there side is harassment.  They figure if they can harass you enough, you will pay the bill.  I've asked them repeatedly to take me off their system, since they are looking for my Dad, not me.  He doesn't even live here!  They have repeatedly told me they would take my number off.  But they are just liars.

Same as everyone else, they call 5 or 6 times a day, as early as 7:00 am and as late as 9:30 pm. They ask for James but no one named James has ever lived at my address.  My name is not James and I bought the house from the person who built it and his name was not James either.  No matter what you say or where you may report it, THEY DON'T STOP!!!

Called my home repeatedly after being told that the party they were seeking DOES NOT reside at the #. Asked five-ten times to remove from calling list until this afternoon when I decided to fight back. Call the FTC @ 877-382-4357 and filed a complaint for harrassment; sent a certified "Cease contact" letter to the above address; called Allied and told them that I intend to seek legal representation if the calls do not stop. If this company continue their incompetent attempts at collections and continue to bug the hell out of my family it can cost them $1000. per call plus fees for legal representation. I was also informed by the FTC that I can contact the attorney general in my state and file a complaint against them. I will not stop answering the phone I pay for. I urge all to FIGHT BACK!! They have definitely met the squeaky wheel with me and, now that I have everything in place, I dare Allied to continue calling me-- I could use the $5000-$10,000. per day that their annoying, harrassing phone calls will net.

This number calls 3 to 4 times a day, sometimes starting at 8AM.  They never leave a voice mail message.  The few times we have picked up, they either do not say anything or they ask for someone who does not live here.

have been calling me at least 10 times a day for 2 months.  i talked with them initially, telling them that the capitol one credit card in question had been reported as fraud to their fraud department, forms filled out and returned, a police report filed and sent to them...and got nothing but we need payment on this now.  i quit answering the phone, and finally got a call from capitol one legal department, threatening suit.  after explaining i had hired an attorney to assist, and that it was fraud and they would have to sue me to get anything, they said that if i would fax a copy of the police report, they would stop calling and send back to their fraud department.  they are still calling.....

I AVERAGE 7-12 CALLS PER DAY. I TOLD THEM THE ECONOMY IS WAHT MADE ME BEHIND IN PAYMENT. I LOST 1/2 MY PAY FROM A WEAK MARKET AND CANT AFFORD TO MAKE A PAYMENT. THE LADY TOLD ME TO DEFAULT ON MY AUTO OR HOUSE LOAN SO I COULD GIVE HER MONEY. I TRIED TO WORK SOMETHING OUT WITH THEM BUT THEY ARE ANAL. I AM GOING TO FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM FOR HARRASSMENT.

They do not ever leave a message and call about 4-5 times per day.  However, a couple of days ago they left a message that they were a collection agency (very rude message).  I called back and they asked if I had a Capital One acct.  I didn't give them any info as I did not feel comfortable giving personal information.
