1and1 seems to have trouble speaking after you pick up and say "Hello".  It's rather annoying.  I called back the number with the intent to complain, but was told how to get off their robocall list within 5 seconds:  Call, press 1, wait a second or two, dial in your number, and done.  I've been told that it can take up to 10 business days (load of crap).

Rang twice, then hung up.  Partial VM suggests it was a post-customer-support follow-up call.

Same happening to me, is that I answer hoping to blow them off and all I get is a beep beep, they don't talk to me yet keep calling everyday!

After they jacked the rates on domains 50% i pulled my accounts as fast as i could. namesilo is the cheapest and best place to go. 1and1 can keep calling. I will not talk to them again.

Marketing like this will only turn customers away.

Don't know who these guys are.....Called me on my personal cell phone number which 1 and 1does not have.
Don't ever release personal infor or passwords.  It's an obvious scam and no message is ever left. Your wallet and your peace of mind will thank-you.

Make that four calls in four days.  Contact complaints@1and1.com to express your displeasure.  I was advised that I would be put on their Do Not Call list.

Two call in two day.  No message left.  Also a 1and1.com customer.

I use them all the time with no problems at all. You are probably one of those problem customers that complains about everything and is never satisfied. Moron

I'm a one and one customer but kept getting these.  When I called back, I pushed 1 and then it asked me to confirm my phone number.  I hope I haven't just been charged something.  Going to call 1 and 1 to see if this is legit.

Received calls from this number on the following dates and times:

8/7/13 - 1:53 pm (Missed Call)
8/8/13 - 1:29 pm (Missed Call)

Called the number back and it is a company called 1&1 Internet marketing their "new and exciting product". The automated system said, "To have your name removed from our marketing campaign calling list press...*muffled sound*", then hung up on me. I called back two more times only to have it end the call as soon as it asked to be removed. I finally got through the message on the fourth try and it says to press 1 to be removed, then asks to type in your 10 digit phone number after the sound, and then abruptly hangs up on you as soon as you do. I did this too more times to make sure I was removed, but am unsure at this point.

I purchased a domain name from then a few months back, had received a call from the company asking if I would like to try their web designing services and was asked again and again even after I instructed the caller I know how to do web designing. I will be registering my domain name with another company and will never do business with them or refer them to another.

Got a call from this number saying they were from 1and1. They said they added some website tools in my account and that all I needed to do was to get into my Control Panel to update it. I thought it was the end of it and was ready to hang up but he said something about seeing my account. So I asked them if they had access to my Control Panel and they said they had. I was shocked! So I shouted at the man and told him that my Control Panel was mine, that I paid for it, and that they had no authority whatsoever to access it without my knowledge. I told him that I wanted to speak to the manager so I could complain about this intrusion. But the man immediately hanged up.

I immediately called 1and1 Customer Service to verify the call. They said that this number was not in any way affiliated to them.

I get these calls all the time! I called back and got the recording to be removed from their calling list. I hope they don't call me back. Ilona did you receive an e-mail back?

1&1 doesn't actually say this number is theirs on Facebook--they just apologize for any inconvenience and recommend the DNC list. That makes me think they are just doing the usual PR response to consumers. 1&1's people responding on social might not know the phone numbers for sure so I'd still be wary of that number.

Yep! It'll be 1and1 and yes they do c*** up your bill so pay attention when it comes and they call the UK from that US number too. But it never connects properly fortunately.

Stop calling me!

The caller appears to be the marketing arm of 1&1 Internet, a website hosting company.  I am a 1&1 customer. But, I won't be one much longer if they don't stop calling me to sell me something I didn't ask for.

I am a 1&1 customer. If they continue to make unsolicited calls to my home trying to sell me on other services, I won't be one for much longer.

Been getting calls from these guys as well. I called it back pressed 1 during the recording, will see if the calls finally stop.

1&1, they called to introduce their new partnership with microsoft and tried to sell me hosted microsoft exchange email account at an extremely high price. I told them I wasn't interested. I hope they don't call back. I picked after they called several times in one week without leaving a voicemail.

If you call back, they identify themselves as 1&1 and give you the option to remove your number.  I have tried to have my number removed several times but am receiving a daily afternoon call from that number.  I have sent an e-mail to 1&1 support telling them to stop the harassment.  Twice I have picked up to try to talk to a live person and tell them to stop only to have the call dropped.

Never, ever, ever purchase a domain or internet product from 1&1.  Their support is horrible and their marketing worse!

Thanks for the info Kurtis.  I can confirm for everyone that this is indeed a telemarketing call from 1&1.  I followed Kurtis' directions and it worked like a charm.

I will NEVER use 1&1 again, not only did they sell my email and phone number to so many different parties, they also do erroneous charges - make sure to look at your bill!!!!

The supposed "$0.99" registry for first time users is BS - wound up getting charged $9.99!

I have received no less than 1 phone call per day, starting the day after I signed up with 1&1...

Using 1&1 was the biggest mistake, and I have a feeling this mistake will haunt me/my phone at really early hours of the morning for an annoyingly long time...
