Kevin Called, wanted to secure my computer and wanted me to buy a green dot money pack card with $100.00 on the card. This is not a real tech corporation. Kevin calls and he calls from a Washington, DC # 202-241-8304 as well as the 888's listed in other comments. This truly is a prank, Yes they will offer a life time of support, but want to keep selling you something to protect your computer, each time they call. I will admit this, Kevin did resolve some issues with my computer. I did fall pray to the first time, were I did give money for a life time of tech support, he was helpful, but he keeps wanting to sell something new, Yes just hang UP!

I am a computer support specialist in rural territory. Two households in my area have received calls and paid the money. The "techies" left them in a mess. This is a farce and people should be warned. They left a txt file on the desktop:

These people called my inlaws saying that there are issues on their computer, they remoted into their computer, then said that this virus has corrupted their printer and all so even getting a new computer would not fix the issue. After trying to sell them "lifetime support" for $139 then trying to give them a senior discount, I am sure that this is a scam.

Got a call from Joshua Mclane from Microsoft Support stating my computer is sending threats to their main computer? . Very thick accent and didn't want to provide me with a number. Suspicious? Most likely a scam

When they called me, "Kevin" said he was with "Microsoft Support" and was calling about an issue with my PC. I assume they would have "found" threats that they would be happy to fix for a fee. Nope!
