Automated call from eBay regarding a sale made.

I have never used Ebay!  Not to sell, not to buy.  Why am I getting calls from them?  I am on both the state and federal do not call lists.  I have never been a customer of Ebay.  The automated message starts with congratulating me on my recent sell.  What sell?  Tell me!   They should be fined just for lying!  What type of company lies like that?

Thanks Deb - I did go into the bowels of eBay and unchecked the phone call button...it was the very last option under several menu layers.

I have also blocked their future, cheery, unwanted, unneeded messages.

I received an automated call today BEFORE 9:00AM promoting half price listings.  No way to escape the call.   No person to say remove.  End of message says call 8888829140 to remove yourself from list.  However, I never added myself to the list, so I will never call that number.

The ebay web site for contact information is insane.  The last resort was "call us" which provides a pin.  

After receiving the intrusive phone call waking me from late night of work, I changed my number to 0000000000... I called ebay, however, I was identified immediately calling from my home phone which is not 00000000, and she said my username, and I said yes,   15 minutes later, the moron figured out my complaint, and all the BS that comes with trying to get rid of me.    In fact, I am still on hold.

If you are still registered at ebay, go to my account and then communication preferences then to Promotions and Surveys and uncheck the phone call button.

I haven't sold on the corrupt site of Ebay in almost 3 years!! Yes.....I received the call on my cell phone at 6:15AM! Then I received a text right after that!! I live right outside of DC. I called the FCC and have a meeting tomorrow to go and talk to someone and complain in person about this!!!!! Ebay doesn't have my cell phone number......but Pay nobodies Pal sure as hell does. I had my Ebay preferences set to NO PHONE CALLS, NO NOTICES, NO NOTHING from fleabay.....and PRINTED that page off when those were set!! I'm retired and have nothing but time.....I have EVERY intention of pushing this with the FCC and everyone else on the hill who will listen!! Ebay.....you F****d with the wrong person living in the RIGHT place!!

We also received that robo telejunk call. Look, we Hate ebay, we hate they way the ruined the site, they are anti-seller, corrupt, dishonest and vile. We sell now on better, freindly sites ie Alibris, Bonanzle, iOffer, wenzy, just to name a few. Ebay is dead to us.

Just for that, I may have to sign up a few fake accounts to go bid up people's garbage, then not pay. Gets those ebay psychos wound up good. hahaha!

No one calls me before 9am and gets away with it.   Especially an automated call you cannot escape, ending with a number to remove from list I never added my number to in the first place.

I did however call the general info line (a.k.a. India) and spoke with clueless morons that know nothing about anything.  And then "account security" who were just talking out of their other hole.  

I changed my number to 0000000000 and they will never get my real number ever again.

WTF? Why is ebay calling sellers at 8:30 am (including calling me at this time, when I quit ebay 2 months ago!!)?

It's enough how they have ruined so many lives with all their ridiculous INCREASED fee's and changes (especially the one-way feedback), but now they are harassing sellers at home?!

They have a stupid ONE day deal for sellers and ebay thinks this is a way to get sellers to stay.

Soooooo many sellers are leaving ebay once the INCREASED fee's start on 4/1, and now they are doing all they can to keep sellers on the site.

Hey ebay, I have idea's to keep your sellers on your site.

1) Reverse feedback to the way it use to be. Scammers are worse on your site than they were before you changed the feedback!

2) Put the prices back to the way they were, or lower them much more! Any brainiac can tell you what a dumb move this was. How stupid do you think people are? Your SPIN that you lowered the fee's, when in fact you really INCREASED the fee's, proves what a horrible site you are. LIES, LIES, and more LIES!  Sellers have had it with you ebay!!

I, too, received this eBay phone call. THe lady asked if she could have some of my time to tell me some new things about eBay, and I said, okay.......but then I got real irritated really fast when I could barely understand what the hell she was saying!!!!!!......I have nothing against people from other countries answering  phones, but DAMIT, learn how to talk English CORRECTLY FIRST.......When I have to say WHAT DID YOU SAY, after every third word is is a giant pain in the A**!!!......I quickly told her I have an emergency.....She said she will send me an email about the information...I said, fine......Funny thing is I never received the email......JUST QUIT BUGGING ME!!!!!

Ebay - reading me the annoying emails they send me everyday.  We'll see if the opt-out option really worked or not.

ebay and paypal are the biggest ripoff artists. THEY DOUBLE DIP -- BIG TIME.
I used to sell a lot on ebay. NOW, no more. I hate the seller fee and paypal fee.
those fees go directly to ebay (double dipping).

I contacted eBay regarding the phone call and text message.  Their reply is that you should not respond to either!  Email a copy of the text message to spoof@ebay.com.  Below is the chat I had w/ Josephine F. from eBay's customer support:

I also received a spam text message from eBay soon after the spam call.

An automated message from eBay about fee discounts - After the msg is done hit 7, then 1 to confirm and it should remove you - I expect more out of eBay - never gotten junk calls before

Annoying automated telemarketing call from EBAY at 8AM. It took another 2 minutes to listen to the recording to opt out once you called back. Infuriating.

Ebay, wasting my time when an email would suffice.
