The caller left an unclear message.  They were very clear about the phone number only.  I called back and hung up after having my speaker phone on hold for 45:24 minutes.

My neighborg across the street came by today to tell me that someone had called him to give me a message to call them them at this number. They told him that it was an "emergency" and they could not contact me.

As a male/ female, I am threaten and afraid by his remarks. Your agency is and will be held accountable to obtain my personal information unauthorized for personal use. I am filling a complaint against your office and above referenced listed individuals for lack of monitoring staff and in violation of Privacy Act/ possible identity theft. I am reporting your office practice to the local Law enforcement agency and requesting our attorney to file an appropriate action(s) deemed necessary. Currently, I have filed and registered complaint with the Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General in my district, Better Business Bureau (File No: *****) and Federal Trade Commission (File No: *****).  You are hereby instructed to cease contacting ********** immediately or face legal sanctions under applicable Federal and State law.

Call the number and ask for the fax number and the name of the agency. They will try to refuse to answer you but be persistent. Then write this attached letter and fax it to them. Also contact Attorney General office in your state and file complaint against this place. Also, in Attorney General web site there is a do not call site, use it and register the phone number. You must call from your home.

Your spelling speaks for itself - Neanderthal Debt Collector

NCO- According to the Fair Debt Collections Laws, after first contact with a person that has a bad debt by phone, you are required to notify the person in writng, within a 5 day period, the exact amount owed and to whom it is owed. The person then has 30 days to dispute this. You are not allowed to continue to harass these people by phone until after the 30 days is over. You can be sued for $1000.00 for each offense. I encourage people called by NCO to record the calls, warn them to cease and then report them to the government. If they ever notify you in writing, send a certified letter to their address telling them to cease and desist the phone harassment and if they don't REPORT THEM.

You'd think a brilliant Psych Major would be able to spell Psych, and know the plural of the word 'thief'.

I think there's a serious miscommunication between the complainers and the NCO employees posting on this board.

The vast majority of complaints are coming from innocent people who pay their bills and are being mistakenly called by NCO, over and over again. This is wrong.

However, NCO is a debt colletion agency. They have a responsibility to the ones that hired them to collect an unpaid debt. This means they can't give up whenever a person says 'That's not me'. Instead of poorly spelled posts on the internet maybe NCO should work to find a feasable way for a citizen to prove they are the wrong number, saving stress for the decent people and money for NCO.

Of course, that would involve many of the people on this board maturing past the 3rd grade level, so it may be a goal out of reach.

In my case, I feel I have been called by this company before and told I was off the list since I am not the person they seek, but I always get another call about a month later.

Collector, your company is looking for me, call the wrong numbers, some numbers are correct ect.... Weathier individuals than me have gone belly up, and you cannot make me pay a cent.  I will start over clean my credit and Junk debt buyers like the company you are with have wasted all the time they have puy into me,  thats funny.  Stick with school and move on.

Someone called Gordon Freeman has been calling, asking for a relative that does not and has never lived here. After months of telling this rude and annoying person that she does not live here we finally told him that these calls are being recorded and not to call again. We even called NCO to tell them that she does not live here and they denied having our number in their system, but said they would check it out. Well now we are getting recorded calls from this number still asking for the same person. We have exceptional good credit (over 800) rating and do not deserve this abuse.

You are an a**.  If you are one of these people, get a life.  Answer the phone or don't call me.  You get off your a** and make sure you know who the hell your calling.  If this is the only job you can get, which is probable with the undereducated learn how to dial the phone.

so call it back. if its a wrong number - tell them, you wont get calls.
