Our 2nd line has never been published, as it's a roll-over line. We answered the call from them once, and they proceeded to ask for someone who is NOT here and never has been here. We informed them of such and they called us liars and then hung up on us. How so very professional. We now NEVER answer their calls, nor will we ever answer them again, and we simply just let it go directly to our answering service. After OVER 50 plus calls showing up on our Caller ID, they have NEVER once left a message. Caller ID shows up as Central Credit. My business does NOT owe anyone ANYTHING, as we are completely debt free. Here is the info on these unprofessional scumbags - Central Credit Services, 9550 Regency Square Blvd, Suite 602, Jacksonville, FL 32225

they called me today, 888-904-1800...looks like i have to purchase a phone package to begain blocking these numbers.  i cant believe this isn't illegal to randomly call purchased private numbers and companies paying people to harass those of us who want to walk IN the door after work and shut the world out.  i bet riches/rich people arent being harassed like this, like, it's going on 8 pm and i dont have any peace at all because of telemarketers calling everyday, weekends early and at night, even sundays--i owe no money, and i'm on a do not call list.  how bad are they?  once when i blocked numbers they called my number using a "000" area code so i couldnt add and block their number-- that's slick, and creepy evil.

This sounds like good advice  I also heard about someone recently that sued a collection agency for a loot of money and were sucessful.  Be sure to keep good reacords.

DON'T EVER BE FOOLED BY THESE MORANS AND SCAMERS.... MANY OF THESE COLLECTION PEOPLE HAVE CRIMINAL HISTORY AND DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING! THEY DON'T EVEN CARE WHETHER YOU ACTUALLY OWE ANYTHING OR NOT...THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO COLLECT $$$ out of you !! Just do the following: #1. ignore them #2. send them a "certified" Cease and Desist letter #3. Report to FTC /BBB /AG #4. Keep and record all the abuses by the agency and contact your local attorney specializing in Fair Debt Collection Practices law to sue them for FREE and earn some $$$ ! if you are Harassed By any of the following: Threats of garnishment
Threats of lawsuit
Anonymous calls
Early morning or late-night calls
Calls at work
Calls to friends, neighbors, or coworkers
Threats of violence or harm
Use of obscene language
Accusations of crime
Negative credit reporting threats
Attempts to collect more than you owe
Collector using false name
Contacted you by postcard
Threats of arrest
Intimidation, lies harassment
Other abusive or misleading practices

and finally don't worry too much - just ACT NOW !

Turn your phone off while you're in school. Then, you could concentrate on your studies. You would also learn the correct spelling of many words. I know you don't know what else to do, and I find that very sad and disturbing. You're not alone, though... *sigh*

Cold Calls Solution
Cold call, they hang up on a message machine leaving a busy dial tone.

Vote against all NRA issues and support all issues against them for all the harassment to you by these hang up dial tone calls. Call your representatives about phone cold call hang up calls from companies. Play those annoying noises back every time they call from known cold call phone numbers used to call you!

Please copy and paste this message at the top uof every phone number you search. It'll help the next person hopefully.

When you file a worthless DNC complaint they put your new fresh name at the top of the DNC list, which will help those jerks when  these start adding new numbers to those they call. You'll have your fresh new phone number at the very top of their sucker list. DNC complaints from citizens are worthless and ineffective I stopped filing DNC complaints months ago. The answer to our problem is using a hand held tape recorder and then repetively tape (over and over the same sound) the disconnected/out of service tone until you have about two minutes worth to play to these jerks that call us. The sound is the same one telezaper uses. I started using a repeated two minute recording of the same sound as telezapper and my calls have gone from an average of 4-10 calls a day, down to none to one per day, up until today when I wasn't here to answer the call and play them my new tape. It works. Have the tape already going before you answer the phone and continue playing it until they either hang up or you think that the tape is close to the end. If so then you hang up. They won't call back, I've proven it to myself already after just using it a few weeks. Prior to using it I've put up with over two years of these nusinance calls.

After you've clicked on the http:// link that I've provided below, then scroll on down the page to and click on HERE:

What? You don't have the tones?

Wow.  These people are calling me for a bill that I don't owe and I thought I had made it clear to their "handlers" that it was being taken care of by another party.  They know this because said party is a relative and her check was garnished until we figured out a way to get her back in good standing with her creditor.  All is running smoothly now and she has the paperwork to prove it.  I know because I helped her.  So why are these morons calling me?  They must be scamming.  I am screaming.  Oh well....let 'em waste time and money.  I have too little of both.

I never answer unknown callers. If this is a debt collector, it is absolutely a scam. My credit is perfect. It has always been perfect. I've had the same phone number for 24+ years. I can't believe they would be trying to contact someone who had this number that long ago.

Best thing to do is ignore it. If you stop answering, they will eventually get bored and stop calling. They are scammers and you will never get a live person when you call back. If you really owed a debt, they would contact you by mail before they started calling.

Debt Collector
My number is on the Do Not Call List. I have only ever had a cell phone for many years now and have always had my number on that list to prevent telemarketers and such from calling. The thing about the Do Not Call list though is that debt collectors are not prohibited from calling and if scammers get your number, they are not blocked because they are not actually a telemarketer....they are "debt collectors". You can report them under the Fair Debt Collection Practices law but the best thing you can do is just ignore them and if it is possible for your phone carrier to block them, do it. If you ignore them, don't hit ignore but let it ring to voice mail or they will call right back, eventually they will stop calling. That doesn't mean they won't sell your information off to someone else with a different number. I have Sprint and you can go to your account online and block voice calls under your preferences. I went from getting literally 20 or more calls a day from various scammers to getting 2-3 a day. Still annoying but much better than before.

My advice too is that if you do answer the phone,

A. Do not give them any personal information. Chances are they don't have it and if they are a legit company they will only ask you to verify the last 4 digits of your social, not the whole thing.

B. As frustrating as it is, don't get angry with them. It only encourages them to call you more just to drive you insane. These people are scammers, messing with people's minds is what they do.

C. If they start calling you at work, like they did with me, simply remind them that it is illegal for them to attempt to collect any debt at a place of business and tell them they need to stop calling or they will be reported under the Fair Debt Collection Practices laws. I told the last one that and I have not received any calls at work since.

It is all a huge inconvenience and sad that this is what people have come to. Technology is great but the better technology gets, the easier it is for scammers to access personal information and try and screw you out of your hard earned money because they want to be handed everything for free. Just remember, nothing is private information anymore. Be leary of what you post and say on the internet. Just because you delete something, doesn't mean it was really deleted. Also avoid searching for things like bad credit loans or payday loans online. That is where the majority of these scammers get your info from. If you need a payday loan that badly, stick to the local stores in your neighborhood. They aren't any more expensive and they are 100% confidential and won't sell your information just to make a quick buck.

"Central Credit" on the caller ID--I thought it would be our bank (OK Central Credit Union) and answered.  Automated message "this call is for  <pause, no name>.  If you are not <pause, no name> then call us back at <not the caller ID #>"  There was a little more, I can't remember what.  Sounded phishy, so I looked up the number and got this site.  Reading the posts, now it sounds like it could be a hassle.  Hopefully it was a random chance at getting a call back, which they won't.

Oddly enough, I know who Olga Flores is.  She and her husband left the country and moved to Nicaragua, owing "everyone under the sun" money.  They left town without telling anyone, and actually borrowed money from a lot of acquaintenances before they left, knowing they were not returning.  There are a lot of people looking for Olga!

Normally when they call, I answer... and they do not answer and soon hang up.  I finally received an answer back today and the lady proceeded to argue with me about someone that did, has not, and will not be working here.  Never heard of the name - and she said that she had just spoke with them a few minitues ago - BS!
