Sent me a text message about a Admin job, which I did not apply

Scammers Phishing on Craigslist and other job sites.

I got a suspicious text from them as well. Apparently, they use your first name to disarm you and ask you a bunch of BS questions. Bottom line, they are not the employer and most likely phishing on Craigslist ( a scammer's paradise) . I did speak with them and only answered a few questions.

The creepy thing is that they have all of my information on their data base. I checked out their address from the email and the directory doesn't list them.

Here is the email I got from them:

Same message, same 512 area code but the 800 number is 888-240-0910

I received a  text call from 512-827-6432 saying they had received my application for Admin. Asst. position. Please call 888-907-0923. I never applied to anyone in the area code 512 which is Austin. I called got disconnected once called back told them I had taken a full time position with a company. I didn't know how I got on their job list but remove my name and information. I also told them to not text my phone again because I am charged for texts. The lady said she would take me off the list. I hung up.

Got a text about an 'admin' position and told to call 888-907-0921.  It is a scam.  They will get you on phone and make you verify information you already provided so they can try and SELL YOU EDUCATION programs.

I got same call.  She said it was a job I applied for on the 26th for Customer Service except when I checked my records I did not apply for a Customer Service job on the 26th.  This is a scam I'm sure.  It's not the first call I got like this.  I think they are in violation of my do not call rights.  Will report them this time.  I think this is a "further your education" scam.

I received a text from 424-832-0109, to call 888-907-0906 again stating to call about job application I filled out. Woman said she was from Employer Network. This is most likely from responding to Craigslist job posting. 424 # linked to identity theft. strange a company would be calling on a verizon #

Another thing.

Some of us are getting that this company is called "Employment Network" but Chris just got Careernetwork.com...seems a bit inconsistent, especially if it's the same number we're all calling.

I got the same messages everyone else did.  When I called it sounded very busy, like what I imagine a telemarketing facility would sound like.  The man I spoke to told me that the company chooses to remain anonymous and that the hiring manager for the company would provide all the information about the company later.  They want to verify your information, but why?

Stephanie's comment earlier said, "I told him all my information was on my resume and he said that due to privacy restrictions he was unable to view it."  If that was the case, how could he verify her information if he didn't have her resume??

If you are applying for a job and want to verify that the company is legit, you can use this website http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/ and type in the company name in the upper right hand corner.  Any complaints against that "company" if there is any, will be listed.

I got a text message from 8889070906 and it said "Hi, Chris I just reviewed your application for the security position you applied for please call me at 888-907-0906". The number that messaged me was from 404-987-2184. I called that number instead and it worked. It was Careernetwork.com my representative's name was Philip Thomas. He asked me a few simple questions asked for some information and verification on info he already had. Name, over 18, Email, zip code, citizenship status, looking for full time or part time, education information. Nothing too personal. No address, social security number. Seems legitimate.

I received a text from 512-827-6432..."Hi Stephanie, I just reviewed your application for the admin position you applied for.  Please call me at 888-907-0906."

The company is called Employer Network.  I called the 512 number back and they answered asking me if this was Stephanie.  He, Jeff, asked a few questions:
- verified my phone number and my email address
- highest level of education
- zip code

I told him all my information was on my resume and he said that due to privacy restrictions he was unable to view it.

I am not sure what to think about all of this but I will report anything unusual.

What was weird about this provided number is that it came through as a text on one of my reference phone not mine. After receiving this text from my reference I called and rep announced herself as April from Employment Network stating " your application is being reviewed by an employer who wishes not to disclose their information due to enormous amount of applicants but if chosen for CSR position, full details would be provided to me via email through the companies hiring manager". She also kept asking if I wanted to further my career or go back to school (more than 5x).

I also received a text that said Hi April, I just reviewed your application please call me at 888-907-0906.  The text came from 512-827-6432.

I received a call as well when I requested a website for their services they gave me www.employer-network.com.  No company info at all.  Scam most likely.
