I received a voicemail from a lady named Nicole Hart this morning, stating that I was going to be served a summons for fraudulant activity. It gave me a number to call which is, 1-888-909-2698, with a contact person named Joe Thompson at ext.101

Thank you Katie for the link.  I just filed a complaint against Mr. Thompson and Romano, Rizzo & Associates.   Hopefully they can track him down.

So, received a call from Joe Thompson threatening me with a summons and jail time for some type of payday loan.  I was, of course, upset and called a friend.  He decided to call the number and asked where they were located, Mr. Thompson stated Chicago and my friend said, you are a collection agency aren't you (I am on 3 way by the way, keeping quiet), Mr. Thompson said no, I am a law office and my friend said, Ok and hung up.  Well, Mr.Joe Thompson calls him back and keeps calling.  My friend answered his phone and Mr. Thompson said 'I think we got cut off'  my friend says ' you must not be too busy if you keep calling my phone back dog' and hangs up.  So, Mr. Thompson calls back and says 'You must be a ni**er since you referred to me as Dog, and proceeded to call him ni**er several times while I listened and recorded with my cell phone.  He then called back again and said 'So where do you live DOG?' and again called my friend a ni**er.   Wow, that is just crazy, fronting as a law office and call someone back using racial slurs, unbelievable.  Oh, and if Mr. Thompson calls ME again, I will be playing what I recorded back to him.  RACIST!

Pay no attention to this Lmao person. He has been following these websites, threatening, and posting personal information of others --- of which has not been entirely accurate.  He/they is/are being monitored and watched.  They have been reported to the FBI and the police (they are listed on the FBI website) but thanks to them/him posting here, we now have IP addresses of the PC used that sent out the emails (one PC has over 400 website domains attached to it...all scams).  They are located in New York and the address {fake} that they have provided (which is consistent with all of the reports against them) is an old, very small UPS store.  We also have found out that some of these people that are working for this lawfirm scam, work out of bookstores, clothing departments, run-down/abondoned factories and even tracked some down to doing activity at coffee shops via their laptops while utilizing the business WiFi.

Same scenario, Joe Thompson calls and says fraud has been commited, when asked for verification of his company no information can be given.  I explained that if he did not have any verification of whom he or his company was just do what he has to do.

I got a call from a [removed:lang] crook on a former cell telling me that I purchased drugs online and they were calling from the DEA WA DC. Detective Washington was an idiot....ebonics and all. I just played along at one point he said "do you know who the DEA is and do you understand you will be going to prison?"  The guy asked for "Stan", I said "this is Stan" I already new from the 202 number and a previous call months before that it was a con-artist. He was an idiot like all of these guys above. So fun to screw with them. I think they must have finally put me on a "no call list" because I decided to block my number after I called them repeatedly and tell them how they give the rest of the Black community a bad name and tired of hearing about their woes of 200 years ago.[removed:lang]

There is a difference between check fraud (fake check, stealing checks, forging signatures) and a bad check (not enough funds in the account). There is no law enforcement agency that will put someone in jail for writing a single bad check you moron. You must not know how law enforcement agencies work. In addition, this is a civil matter not a criminal matter. When Brian Anderson called and left a message on someone else's voicemail that I defrauded a financial institution ($1000 fine for violating FCRA guidelines) and then stated I would be arrested ($1000 fine for threatening jail time) and that he is an attorney ($1000 fine for impersonating an attorney)...well, that little 2 minute voice mail cost him $3000. I haven't had a payday loan and never inquired about one. The scammers are probably hacking other sites to obtain this information. You are a moron for disclosing personal information about someone on the Internet, obviously you are about as smart as the idiots who developed this scam. It is not a crime to voice your opinion about a company or business, it's one of our constitutional rights. By the way, spell check and grammar check are features you may benefit from. Also, you don't "write" on an Internet page, you type dumbass.

It's funny Kim Moore. You just called that firm I am guessing and asked if you could respond to them via email. They do not communicate via email. Its funny your address is [removed] and your number is [removed] and you want to slander that firm who handles your case. You will eventually see what it is like to be sued. Call whatever police department you want to. You bounced your account information and you are the one who is in trouble KIWI. Lmao. After much research and having MANY people call this number, I have discovered that YES, this is a scam. I am reporting them to the police. NO, it is not a real/legal law firm.
At each time that you/someone calls this number back (block your number), a female recording will answer stating that it is Romano Rizzo and Associates. She will continue to say that if you know your party's extension blah blah blah...otherwise, remain on the line and the NEXT AVAILABLE AGENT will be with you shortly. Though I have an extension to a Mister Joe Thompson (ex.101), if you do not punch it in and just wait to be connected.....at every time you will be connected to Joe Thompson (the same freakin guy). Also, I asked if he had an email or a website that i could also contact him through. In a very shakey voice, he said NO.
Now you tell me, what kind of LEGAL Law Firm does NOT have a website and what attorney does NOT have an email address and also, what law Firm is ran by only one freakin person?

They leave a message saying that they are Romano Rizzo Agency with fraud....they are a law firm but surprise.....They cannot be found ANYWHERE.
Their number is also unlisted. No yellow pages, white pages, Google or yahoo have ANY info on this number or Agency. Not even the BBB.
Just because they say they are a law firm and that you committed fraud, does not make it so.
The only things that pop up when typing this number in a search engine are things like this. People asking about it or not knowing who they are. I did however find one site that said the number is flagged as a Telemarketer, State is 'None' and Company is Unknown.
If this were truly a law firm, why can't they be located ANYWHERE as a legitimate source besides in places like this of someone simply saying they are a lawfirm.
I have called back and no web site can be given either.

You better call them. If not u w  be sitting in the county jail wondering Howe much bail is. Go ahead and ignore them fool. They are check recovery.

This law firm does legal investigation for check fraud that was done and the actions they are able to take are no joke. I would have called them Matt. That is only if the call was for you. Here are the Check Fraud laws per each state.
