Ha! I just got the call. (8889180509) Female with heavy Indian accent (I am married into an east Indian family so I know it well.) She called herself Lisa and asked for my husband. I explained that he wasn't available and asked what her business was. She claimed not to be able to discuss it with me. As my husband is a very busy doctor, I always run interference for sales calls and asked again the nature of her call. She got belligerent and said that she was with the IRS. I laughed, of course, as I sign our tax forms too and told her she's full of dung. She said I'd see when he was arrested in 45 minutes. Told her to come get him, I am pissy with him anyway. She hung up. We are still laughing about it but I worry for those who might not be as savvy.

got a voice mail from this number with exactly the same message. I have been receiving these kind of calls and each time I block a number they call from a different number. They are using magic jacks and calling from outside the country. Most of the time heavy accents but this time they seem to have gotten hold of a recording to hide their accents.
IRS will always send an audit notification instead of calling on phone and using non-professional language. They will never accuse before doing an audit. Best way is to keep blocking the numbers till they run out. It's high time IP phones were regulated. IP phones should be restricted to the area code or the country code. These guys, who can only wish to be in America, are threatening US residents, using American technology and nothing can be done about it.

Yes I just received two calls from this same person with same message.  Out of curiousity, I decided to call the number.  I also asked why I didn't receive any notice in the mail.  He actually told me that they tried to sent it certified but no one was home and it was mailed back.  When I asked them to resend the notice - they told me that the court had the papers!  This is a total scam and I am glad I googled the number.  Thank god for the internet these days.

Exact same thing. I had the misfortune of picking up the phone this morning (caller from San Angelo, Texas, 325-500-0533) when it rang and was stunned beyond disbelief to hear that an arrest warrant was pending against me and I would find myself behind bars in a couple of hours, for 4 counts of tax frauds/evasions/ theft by deception! The names of these evil, miserable creatures who ruined my morning: Officer Rico Lopez who then transferred me to his "superior officer" Tony Williams and they said they were from the "Tax Crime investigation unit of the IRS". Or it could be settled out of court if I would pay them a few thousand dollars through government bonds right away. That was  a sure red flag. When I asked the guy how I could be sure if this was legitimate, he got wild and said he will straight send me to jail! My passport would be seized, my bank accounts frozen, and other horrors... I have called and reported this number to my phone provider. Oh and by the way, when I asked how come I never received any notice before, if at all, he said they sent out 2 legal notices last year... lie after lie. Hope they rot in hell, harassing innocent law-abiding people. Folks, please be careful and don't give out any info.

Received message on home answering machine, 4/10/2014 - a digitized voice - said I am Fernando Rodriguez from the Tax Audit department of the IRS. They received a legal petition against me to report on tax fraud and tax evasion, and that I must call them back before "the issue goes to the federal courthouse or I am arrested by county sheriff." Their # 888-918-0509.

I returned the call to see what they wanted :-) - they advised that I need to pay $3000.00 immediately to avoid being arrested. When I asked them to mail me the letter, the guy became rude saying that I am not your servant to send the letter. At that point, I realized that it is a scam and disconnected the call.

I called IRS to verify if they know anything of this phone number. IRS person told me that they will never call people regarding tax audit or unpaid taxes. They always deal with people by letters and do not demand any money over phone.

Please file the scam/fraud report at http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml or call at 1-800-366-4484 to report the scam incident.

I got the call twice today from 325-500-0533 with a bad Indian accent. Left a message for me or my attorney to call the Tax Crime division of IRS. I was told it was time sensitive matter and I don't call back then good luck to me as I am in big trouble. The person calling said their name was Mike something.

They must be desperate to call me twice within few hours.

IRS Scam. This voice was digitized, probably to hide the horrible, Indian accent. But the script is exactly the same. Please, whatever you do, DON'T CALL THEM BACK!!!!!!

They must be on a last ditch effort to get money because I received 7 calls today, threatening all kinds of ridiculous things. Since I do pay my taxes (and just paid a chunk to the U.S. govnt), I don't think a sheriff will be on my doorstep anytime soon.

Here are other #'s that I received these scam calls from...
