I was ready to pay an outstanding bill that Jim Murphy said I owed and recieved a phone call telling me I better pay this bill or else this guy was coming after me (Loanshark ?) I then called the # back to try and stop the threat of violence and Jim Murphy answered the phone at this other number. These people are nut cases not professional debt collectors. The original debt they say I owe is nonexistent. Something really bizarre going on

After he called repeatedly he identiied himself as two different people  ---Ryan Rydley and Ryan Slater and then said to call him back yelling "got that !".  I guess he got confused as to who he was but he didn't forget to remain rude.  I kept 9 of the recordings just in case.  His behavior was enough to get him fired from any legitimate service.

csi investigation called stated there was fraud on my credit report.  prev these same people called from a fake attorney  stated I have never paid several thousands of dollars in loans.  They were going to send the police to my employer to collect the money or arrest me.  I had one loan that was almost paid off. called my lender and my lender gave me a code.  I called this fraud guy back asked him what the code was.  He did not know that the code and disconnected.  I block the number which was a cell phone#.  Then csi called me the same person about three weeks later.  I knew the voice. They left me a phone message.  I called them back as what their business was csi investigation I told them they are a fraud.  they have not called me back since.  Do not give these fraud guys any of your personal information or pay them any money they are a fraud scam!

Don't call them back!!!  Ignore them!  I got a call just now and looked up the company online and found their website which is ifindunow.com!!!  I can't even locate them on the BBB website.  Do not call them, don't set up payments...this is a scam and they will take everything you give them.

It is important to know that anyone that has a REAL claim of debt or anything owed they have a legal obligation to inform you of this debt in writing!!!  Don't believe these people.

I received a voicemail today from some Ryan from PSV "needing to speak with me about a person of interest living at my address and need to call 888-929-1343 back ASAP".  First you called me from 719-428-0069 which for those of you looking is in Colorado Springs, CO.  I'm not stupid enough to call you back seeing you gave absolutly no info as to what you are investigating.  But by reading all these other comments I'm assuming you want to SCAM my money.  Well guess what, I only have 2 debts, my house and my car which I still own and have NEVER been late with a payment on so you can kiss my a** if you think you are going to fool me.  So for those that think this is real, seriously wake up!  These people are LAZY and just want your hard earned money. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!

You cannot get a default judgement legally unless you have been notified correctly about a legal debt and the impending court action.  You need to speak to the original person who is the debtor.  No professional person acting in a legal manner does the things these people do.  Old debts are not collectible.  Laws vary from state to state.  Contact the Attorney General in your state.  From what I'm seeing and hearing these people are doing things very wrong.

Brian Slater from PSV Investigations has called my house several times from (720) 240-9552.  I've attempted to call them back, but now that I've read all of this, I won't be doing that anymore.  I have no outstanding or past due debt.  The number I was given to call (855) 251-1592 goes to a company calling themselves S.I.R. They don't answer the phone either.  I'll be calling the State Attorney General's Office today instead.

Really? I would not respond, because you don't even get proper, or accurate answers. If this was the case... Owing a debt... Everything needs to be documented.. Meaning if you had potential find.. You needto have everything in writing for your sake and the person that owes... Heck if I could call someone and say you owe this, or else... You really think?. Debts, regardless worse comes to worse, still need to through the court system, unless there was a tiny signature signed somewhere, but you would then need to verify that with the person in question...

PSV Investigations has a new phone number. 855-251-1592 Just got a call about an hour ago. What a load of crap. I've had to deal with people like this before and I know for a fact I do not owe anything except one credit card that is paid on time every month. They will also have CSR or CSIR call from this number 601-566-1933 to have you call the 855 number. Crazy.

Nichole,

Is there more infromation on what we can do about this here in the state of Arizona.  I know they have violated a few laws just by what they have called and said to me.  I am starting to document everything but my blood starts to boil the longer I am on the phone.  I wish there was a slap them button on our phones.  ;)

Anyway, if anyone is in Arizona and wants to get together to go after these guys please let me know.

EL MIRAGE, Ariz. -- While driving home recently, Cheryl Austin decided to check her voice mail. What she discovered was an alarming message from a man she has never heard of before.

"It was a message stating I needed to call him back,? Austin explained. ?There were legal repercussions if I didn't call him back by the end of the day."

Concerned, she called the New York telephone number back and spoke to a man she says was ?shrewd, direct and downright intimidating.?

"They were telling me that I took out this loan and never paid it back,? she said. ?Now, they are coming after me legally. They're telling me they're going to come to my work and arrest me. If I'm not at work, they are to come to my home and arrest me in front of my family and friends."

Austin said the man demanded $500 to pay off her so-called debt, something she refused.

Even after hanging up, she says the calls kept coming for two days straight.

And the caller not only cursed at her, but he kept mixing in legal jargon.

"Affidavit? they used the word ?authorities,?? she recalled. ?They used words that scared me."

Austin said she knew she did not owe the debt, but said the caller was so intimidating and almost convincing.

Finally, she changed her cell phone number just to stop the harassment.

"It's not fair that people can do this to other people out there,? Austin said.

Her caller was most likely a con man who violated nearly every rule established by the Federal Trade Commission for legitimate debt collectors.

For instance, they cannot use obscene language or repeatedly use the phone to annoy you.

They also cannot say you will be arrested. These are all things the caller used against Austin.

Still, it goes on every day.

Austin said the ordeal has been a real eye-opener and does not want people to be tricked.

"I think that people need to know about this,? she told 3 On Your Side. ?If people don't know that they are out there scamming people, then they will fall for it. It's dangerous.?

Remember, there are things debt collectors are allowed and are not allowed to do.

There are also certain hours that they are supposed to call between. For more information, visit

A "Michael" called and said he was from PSV Investigations, and I must return his call immediately to schedule an interview for a "pre-litigation" investigation. He mumbled terribly and I had to listen to the message several times to understand even that much. He gave a number--720.240.9552--to return his call and 855.250.2616 to talk to the "client" who is supposedly going to litigate. I called both numbers from a totally random phone here at work and got voice messages on both, with no company identification or anything to make me think this was legit at all. If PSV Investigations is for real, then act like it.

I beg to differ Mr PSV Investigations... It is not part of anyones job to be an a-hole, persistent maybe. I think we all understand that debt collectors have a job to do but believe it or not, when people tell you that the person you are looking for does not live there, or they have no contact, they are being honest. You people have been calling my home lately and I know you aren't calling for any sort of debt for me as I do not have 1 thing financed. Some of us do know the value of saving rather than spending so we can pay for things with cash. In the event that someone unknowingly used my phone number, I would absolutely love if you sent and investigator out to my address so that I could tell him/her that they are jerks to their face and that they are full of crap. That won't happen of course because it is much easier for you people to talk crap on a message machine or over the phone than to actually come deal with someones wrath face to face.  Good luck with your professional SCAM..... looks like you need it. :)

This may be true, however, you have called us several times from different telephone number saying you are trying to find our son.  We have told you over and over that he has not spoken to us for several years.  You say you will remove our telephone number.  However, the calls keep coming.  My husband and I both have severe heart problems and, of course, it concerns us that our son may be in trouble.  Any further calls received will be referred to the attorney generals office in West Virginia.

I received a message on 1/18 to call "Ryan Thomas of PSV Investigations" at 855-250-2616, 720-316-7004, or 720-240-9552.  The message stated it was urgent I call/trying to collect a debt.  I went ahead and called back.  (I had received a similar call about a bogus debt claim quite a while back and I was told it must have been an error, etc./never heard anything else.)  I was transferred to 888-925-9485, ext. 214 for "Ken Reynolds of CSI Litigations" (once it sounded like Kevin).  I talked with him several times that day.  He was pretty cordial.  Supposed to be looking for me under a previous name with a "CashNet Pay-Day Loan" taken out on 9/21/07 for $500.  He said a couple of payments were made with a balance left in 2008 of $482.80.  Then, it was "charged off" on 12/5/10 for $711.97.  I informed him I have never taken out a pay-day loan and that nothing like this was on any of my credit reports that I obtained less than a year ago.  I mentioned the similar call I had before but this sounded like it was supposed to be different.  He said this type where some payment was made usually is where a family member takes out the loan with the full intention of repayment -vs- one where no payment is ever made.  This sounded plausible since I know people who would stoop to using my info, etc.  He said 2 "demand letters" had been sent to me--1 at my current physical address and 1 at my PO box address.  I told him I hadn't received anything.  He said he couldn't resend the demand letter, that there was a 24-hr hold on my account, but that he could "release the documents" they had (mail them to me) so I could contest it.  He said the next step would be to prosecute, etc., but he would contest it himself if this happened to him, etc.  He also offerred the option of "settling" instead, and I informed him I wouldn't do any such thing.  He mentioned a lot of times these types of loans don't go on credit reports and that it was unusual that this one was from "CashNet" -vs- "CashNet USA" (what he usually sees).  He gave me 2 numbers for CashNet (888-801-9078 or 888-801-9075) and an account number.  I called both.  Neither of them recognized the number as any of their accounts.  They offerred to look up an account under my social security number.  I declined this, but gave the name the account was supposed to be under.  Again, nothing.  I call Mr. Reynolds back with this info.  He didn't have much of an explanation except through "chain of title" (where original loan is sold to a 3rd party--which he told me was where CS Litigations got my file) maybe it had changed.  I called CashNet back again and was transferred to their fraud department.  I was told by Michelle Atkins, their Third Party Fraud Specialist (866-254-3581) they are not affiliated in any way with and have an ongoing investigation into CS (or CSI) Litigations in cooperation with federal and state authorities.  She sent me information to confirm this.  [They recommend you call the police and complain to the Federal Trade Commission if caller is "abusive, uses threats or otherwise".  The BBB and the Community Financial Service Association are also aware/have issued consumer alerts.]  I made several calls the next day back to "PSV" and "CSI".  Each of these times my name was recognized from my phone number.  I attempted to get physical addresses.  At "PSV's" number, a woman always answered as "corporate office" for PSV or "CSR Group".  She wouldn't give me a physical address/just that she was in California and then transferred me on to where my account was.  Mr. Reynolds said there were several addresses/finally gave me a physical address of "5942 Edinger Ave., Ste. 113 Huntington Beach, CA 92649" for "PSV" which is where the "released documents" would come from.  I did a little investigating on the internet.  PSV looked like they had a fairly new website and were based out of Denver, CO.  Today, I called Mr. Reynolds back.  This time, he didn't automatically pull up my information/had to look it up under my phone number (which, by the way, is a cell phone not a land line).  I explained it has been over a week and I haven't received any paperwork.  Only legitimate explanation is if there were some extended processing time on their end before mailing it out (he didn't deny that could be the case).  Again, he was fairly cordial.  I let him know if I still don't get anything, I will assume it is just a scam.  Told him about CashNet USA's fraud investigation of CSI.  He said they were a legitimate business, etc.  So, we'll see.  Good luck, everyone!
