We've had 2 voice mails left asking about our Alberta labour law postings. We figured it was some sort of posting for a position with our company. I called Robert Palmer back and left a message asking him what he was talking about??? From the postings I've read, seems like it is a scam.

Yes I received a call when I was out.  I listened to the message on the answering machine, and just because of the manner in which he spoke, I got on the computer to check his number out, thinking something sounds fishy.  I am glad I checked.  If he phones back I am just glad I double checked.

They left massage me and said the same thing but his new name is Jake stone. He asked me to pay 48+tax. It is scam .

Don't bother with these websites, they produce no results. File your complaints directly with the FCC at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.

Logan Cook called again (he called me in February, which I also posted on this board). It was the same message, him wanting to speak to me about Canada Labour Laws. Will not be phoning back.

Got a phone call from Richard Smith about labour laws posting, calling from Safety Services.

I received a phone call this morning from Allen Andersen as well.

I got the same thing today Jun 06 1013. A guy on the phone claiming himself as WCB related and trying to sell me posters about the worker's safty and rights. I told him if there is anything important I will contact WCB myself and "You are not getting any money off from me".

Just got a voice mail from a Rudy Prankin from Safety Services, he addressed me by name, which isn't hard to find if they looked up my business website.  Same as all above, Provincial Labour Law Postings.  I am in Alberta.  From reading all the above, I am not returning this call.  I also am an owner operator.  If this was truly from the government, they would have sent some sort of documentation by mail.

Got a series of this type of call. Message left is from a Mr Smith. Clearly a scam. They called at least three times. I called back and only got the company name at that point.

Ten to one this is a scam.

We received a call indicating it was legally required that we purchases some posters for $59.00 and post them in a staff area.  When I told him that if it was legally required there should be no need for fees, he terminated the call quickly.  I have tried to report this to Service Canada, I sent them an email and got an automated response telling me to call a number and report it.  I did but was kept waiting on the phone forever.

Don't get taken by this - government agencies will give you posters for free, especially if they require you to post them.

Just had the same b.s. Call here 8:13 am from peter Davis .
He left a message saying something about failure to follow the law.
Message was to hard to hear for all the back ground noise.
Scam scam scam...

This has been a big scam in the US, which small business owners have been warned about by police and state agencies across the country. So now the criminals have decided to try it out on Canadians. Thing is, the US situation doesn't transfer here ...no one would get on the phone from the government department and call small businesses. So we get pretty quickly that this is a scam. Second, the operators are clearly criminals...and located in the US in a call centre. (Maybe someone will think to ask them how to spell labour...).
Their tactic is crime by threat...you will get in trouble with the government if you don't have the right posters up...and we will sell them to you.
I mean does Canada even have a comparable law that labour laws have to be posted? Doubt it.

Also...they are calling using some robocall method...they don't know one business from another because they called my residential number.

I read through these posts and what strikes me is how Anglo the names of the callers are...simple Anglo at that....totally unlikely that these would be real names and therefore this reeks of a scam. BTW...I got the call at my residence. I am not a business and hardly have need for labour laws to protect me...well, do you suppose I can use this to get out of gardening?

Just had the same call...sounded so scam as well..had i been more away I would have put him through the ringer..told him I was owner/operator, and no employees, that shut him up quick. Would like to report this guy as well..this was in Manitoba, Canada...

Yup!  Recieved call from Manitoba labor law postings ,Complaince Company apparently, or Appliance Co. More BS scaming small businesses. I told him any employee can contact the Dept of labor and find out their rights. I don't need to spend $60.00 for a poster.

John Thomas called from 888-944-2467. I recently placed an ad on the web looking for a laborer. Perhaps my number was harvested from there. Ad appeared on Indeed.

a Bill Palmer called from this number insisting on speaking to the owner.  I advised him that the owner was busy and could I take a message.  He said he was from Safety Services regarding BC Labour Law Postings" and gave this number.  I advised my boss and he told me it was a scam and to look up the number.  Glad I did and didn't return the call.

Just got a call from Logan Cook. Wanted to sell me Employee safety posters for $59/yr.  When I asked if he represented a government dept of some sort he just repeated the name of his company, Safety Services,  I strongly insinuated that the posters were mandatory to purchase and display in your business.

Obviously a scam - Do not confirm any information for these guys. As far I can tell they are a private company trying to sell free government supplied posters by misleading you.

Got another call from this Mickey Mouse outfit.  Fellow named Matt Johnson this time.  
I let him know that he's about the 6th caller from his office (888-944-2467) and asked him to please remove our number from their callling list like I had asked the previous 5 callers.  He apologised and said he would remove our number....HAHAHA...yeah right, like that's going to happen!

This time it was Shawn Benson.  Same spiel.  Don't hold your breath waiting for me to return the call, LOL!

Received a call from the same number today. His name is Erin Love. Loud noise in the background, asked for the owner and said it was Safety Services calling. I took a message with the content of not calling back. Can you say fraud?!

Mike Green called me today; $60 for posters!  Danm inflation.

Just recieved a call from Chris Gibson from Safety Services wanting to talk to the owner I said the owner was not in can I take a message then he went on about labour law posters and I just told him my boss has everything that is required...thanks! He then hung up...hope this means NO MORE CALLS :0)

I got a call from a guy called Mike Green from Labor Laws. Seemed very sketchy. I asked him for more information before I passed the message on and he said. "If you don't want to comply then have a great day" and hung up on me. Even if it's not a scam, it's not a company with any customer service.

our company received the same call re: labour laws. the man I spoke with insisted speaking with the owner, which for me already raised "red flags" as i screen many of these calls. told him that the owner was busy and he again insisted on speaking with someone in a managerial position, and although i could have answered his questions i knew it wasn't a buisness call and told him that no one was available. I asked for his number (which, with a quick search led me here.) and name [says his name was logan cook.] and told him someone may call him back. I hope he doesnt hold his breathe...

Got a call on the answer machine Scott Walker - calling about visible aid.   Lucky i found this page so I can just ignore the call. SCAM
