No answers,phone calls

Another call this time from a ROBERT SMITH FROM A CO. CALLED PRIVATE ???/LA CO., saying  the same B.S. I did however save there message on my answer machine for the police department.  

Incredible.

They answer the phone 'CORPORATE OFFICES" and give you some B.S speach so i gave one right back. The guy could not did not understand why i knew as much as i did then he told me what was going on. They tell you that you owe so much money but you don't i look up my bill and it was 225.87 they wanted 1512.37 i told them to kiss my a**. He said didn't you get the letter i said hell no.
He said can you pay 530.87 i said no he said will take you to court i said ok. Then he got angry and was trying to yell but i had to remind him the phone call was being recorded. He said you did not tell me before we started talking. I told him when you said it to me i said to you and you said ok. I told him 225.87 and nothing eles well i need to talk to the lawyer i said me too so i was on hold for 5 mins then he said ok. Then i told him he need to becareful of the people they talk to because i use to be a Debt Collector.

They called saying his name is Jack Ericsson.  He was coming over in the next 2-3 hours to bring a subpoena, which they never did.  They were looking for my bother.  This is the second time they've done this.  Really pissed me off.  Next time they call, maybe they'll be able to talk to my other brother, a fog horn.

Is it legal for collection agencies to pretend that they're from federal/state courts, hospitals, local police stations?

Sorry. Just want to make sure this is the correct number because they can use all kinds of numbers and play it off. I have a friend who works with attorneys and my husband also works for the county of LOS ANGELES and they both told me if you cant find a number on THE WEB, MOST LIKELY ITS FRAUD.

OMG!  I am soooo sorry to hear about your husband. I am so pissed now!!! ok, I will wait for them to call me and I will see how I can get charter to get it off so I can take it to the police dept.

Same here...Told me they were from the county office and a sheriff was coming with a subpoena. I called my husband at work thinking is was a call from the county sheriff's office. He left work early to get home and was involved in an accident. Now I found out this person misrepresented himself as an county employee for the sheriff's office. My husband is in the hospital in after being hit by a DWI driver on the way home. I have contacted my lawyer and he is perusing both criminal and civil actions against this caller. He took my answering machine and has given it the our county DA;s office. The sheriff's office was here this morning and has assured me that they did not authorize anyone to call on their behalf. The sheriff told me that the call was in violation with the law and will work with the DA to ID this person or persons. If you get this call on your voicemail, KEEP IT! Call your local police/sheriff about this company impersonating an government law official.

They are calling and threatening me with a subpoena.  They give you like 3 chances to call them back, OR THEY WILL COME TO YOUR JOB OR HOME.   I called back and they answer first with 'CORPORATE OFFICES" AND THEN THEY SAY BCM!!!!  So I hung up.  ALL 888's are most likely SCAMS!!! If you try to look up their number on the internet, you get all these websites, not legit.

IF THEY WERE FOR REAL, THE COMPANY WOULD COME UP WITH THE NUMBER  ..
