I know yall said the number is 1-888-963-6602 but has anyone gotten one from a 1-888-963-6599. I have gotten the message from this number that yall have but now they are calling my dad's house and my grandparents house claiming the same thing. Told my daddy that they have been coming to the house trying to deliver a summons and no one comes to the door or we are not home and if I dont call back by tomorrow 11-26-13 they will get ahold of my authorities and the courts and have me picked up on a failure to appear charge. Im sorry but if I dont get a summons to go to court then they cant arrest me on a failure to appear.

Ok its this simple...

This is a scam.  Contact the original creditor and find who they sold the file to.  You may end up calling a few companies until you end up with this company.   Then once you do, you can take them to court.  As well you could place a payment on file and let it run for 1 dollar (use a prepaid card).  You can get their info from the payment.... They think they are hiding;however, they are not.  They are using vop phones (internet phones), but the key to remember is this...they can not take you to court as they have no documents to back up their claims.  Give me a few days and I will post their info here.

Make sure to record your calls.. Save the messages.

i received a threatening voice mail message from a women named tammy requesting a call back from my husband regarding a complaint filed against him.  she stated he had 48 hours to contact the firm or else they would be forced to take action.  when we contacted the office, no one by the name Tammy worked there; according to the rude man on the line, my husband had already called in and settled the claim. little did he know my husband was on the line with me.  my husband spoke up stating who he was; the man became offended ending the call abruptly.  it was obviously a scam, regarding the rest of the complaints seen here.  these jerks need to be stopped.

This company is "Coastline Financial Group", a sham corporate identity for CFGroup & Associates who have a flashy BOGUS website at http://www.cfgroupandassociates.com. The address is a maildrop (like the old Mailbox, etc. stores) and is at 751 S. Weir Canyon RD# 157406, Anaheim Hills, CA, 92808-1962.

These bottom feeders are not attorneys or associated with attorneys. They run a phone room that trolls the Internet looking for old and bad debts that companies or previous collectors have charged off hoping to scare someone into sending them something so they can make pennies on the dollar. They called us using legalistic language in reference to a 19 year old water utility bill in the amount of $14.37 my wife failed to pay when she left college 16 years before we got married. We sent a check with a letter of explanation to the UTILITY COMPANY.

Screw these low life scum sucking collectors. They should man up and conduct business accordingly.

Signed...a ticked off intelligence analyst.

Received several messages from people claiming that I had a file and a complaint against me. My friend also received a msg from this company indicating the same file and compaint jargon for me. I finally called them back to inquire and they indicated my file had left their company already because I did not respond to the "litigation". They told me about a debt that I do indeed owe but forgot about. They said the company was filing a law suit against which I find odd as the company is out of business. When I asked if they were a debt collector he said no. When I asked if they were lawyers, he said no. I had to finally ask, then what type of firm are you? He said, an ARC. I then had to ask, well what is that? He says, an Alternative Resolution Center. He then asked me why I did not pay my debt? I asked him why he needed to know if the file had already left his agency. He then said he wanted to help resolve the debt. Then he became extremely rude, asking why I'm the kind of person that does not own up to their responsibilities. I then hung up. He did have my social security which really bothers me.

I got a call last night (5:12 pm EST) looking for my ex-husband that he was going to be served papers to appear in court because of outstanding debt.  I'm re-married and they called me by my marriage name.  They had my cell phone number and my address.  They were looking for my ex-husband's social security number.  (Like that wasn't a red flag.)  I told them I didn't know it.  (We were married for 20 years... I know it.)

Then my step-son came home from work at 7:00 and he told me he got a call looking for my ex-husband.  He wasn't able to answer, but they actually left a message.  The person who called said he was "Carl Miller", the call was for my ex-husband to go to court.  He left a file number and a this phone number.  They said they were with "CF Group and Associates".  They have a legit looking website (http://cfgroupandassociates.com/) but as I have read they are not.

I called the number last night and it didn't do anything.  I called three times this morning.  The first time it forwarded to a legit timeshare company, the second time it forwarded to a contest, the third time it actually answered CF Group, but it was just a message.

They had MY cell phone number and my STEP-SON's cell phone number.  Calling my step-son?  There was another flag that it wasn't legit.  Why would someone call my step-son?  He knows nothing about my ex but his name.

I'm filing a report with the FTC today.  I let my ex know.  I have a feeling they will call everyone but him.

I got a call today from my husband telling me that a person called him at work. That person just gave him a phone number and a case number and told him that the message was for me.So I called an nobody answered. So I started to think if the message was for me why call him at work and where did they get his job information? The only way they could do that is by running a credit report or background check with his permission. I'm pretty sure my husband never gave them permission nor did I.Now I'm waiting for a call from them, because when I called them I left a message.I got a couple of questions to ask them.

A person from this company left a message for a wrong party.
I called back to ask them to cease and desist.
They said that when the "process server" comes out to just verify the wrong party and that would be that.
They're full of baloney.

First he tried to tell me he was just an answering service.
Then, somehow, magically he was able to figure out more info.
Tried to say that the party they were looking for WAS RELATED to a party at our home.
Clearly a fishing expedition.

Oh, I forgot..The message said that a claim is filed against me and if I don't call within 24 hrs, it will go against me. Total BS. Of course, you'd have to get something in the mail first. Regardless, let's all call him back and threaten him, or pretend we are going to pay the debt and give him a fake debit card number so he'll be so excited that he is going to get money and then BAM, it will not work when he runs it through :)

This dumb D*ck also called me. And guess what? He forgot to block his caller ID, it was: 1 714-364-5656, though they give you a toll free number that is different. Total scam. No company is allowed to leave messages with personal information attached, it is illegal! Also, the di**o never even call my number, it was a relative. IGNORE BY ALL MEANS!

I returned a call they left. I asked them what type of company they were, the  lady that answered told me they were a call answering service.  So I asked if any of their clients were lawyers to which she answered they were not.  Then her "supervisor" came on the line, I asked what was the name of their firm, to which he stated they were not a firm and the company name was CF Group.  I googled CF Group and it came up all sorts of companies, none of them bill collectors or lawyer firms.

I got in over my head a few years ago with credit card debt. I did think I paid them off. I also know that I did have a cedit card with the company he claimed to be representing. However, the amount sounds like more than my credit limit could have been. While I realize interest does accrue, it is not possible for it to accrue this much, unless I am confused about the credit limit, which I doubt.

In any event, I should ignore future phonecalls from him? I did find it odd that he never sent the agreement via email that I was supposed to print, scan and return to him, particularly when he assured me that I would receive it within 15 minutes.

Thanks for your help!

Kathleen, you just dodged a bullet. No legitimate debt collector would ever try to get on-the-spot payment by debit card over the phone! This was an obvious scam. These con artists just run automated dialers that calll thousands and thousands of phone numbers with the same message. Most people laugh and hang up because they know they don't owe this debt. But every once in a while they get lucky and hit the phone number of someone who *does* have a debt similar to what they describe ? then they try to extort money quickly.

If the scammer hasn't called back yet he's unlikely to do so. Remember, he's violating some fairly serious laws and is much more afraid of being found and arrested than you were about owing money.

You forgot about a loan?  That alone is suspicious.  You sent him an Email agreement?  The FTC specifically states that Emails and Faxes should never be used or accepted as they are not legal or binding in a court of law.   I suggest that you not talk further with this man.  And,  see a doctor about that case of "Loan Dementia" you have.

I called back in a panic after they left a message that legal action would be taken if I did not. The man was very rude about a debt that I do in fact owe but forgot all about. He wanted a debut card number to pay off the settlement. After a lot of arguing, he took my email with an agreement to email me documents about a settlement. He claimed I would receive the email in 15 minutes. Two days later, no email. What should I do now?
