Bottom line is that we are not a scam and if anyone actually comes in to watch a presentation they will leave there knowing that indeed we are not a scam. So I ask this, what is the worst thing that can happen if you actually do show up to a demonstration?  You will get a freshly cooked snack and you will receive everything that is promised to you over the phone. If you do choose to invest into a quality set of cookware then you will receive a discount, but that will be a decision that you will make after seeing it in action for yourself!

I got a call last night. They wanted to meet with me. I won a bridal package that includes 2 wedding bands (up to $600) or a 2 night trip to certain locations. Then you will also receive $1,000 in grocery coupons. I think this is a scam.

I would have to agree.  The ONLY place I signed up to win anything was at David's Bridal, and now I am getting these phone calls.

I received a call not too long ago saying I had one the bridal package. At first I was thinking it was a total scam (One: I never win anything. Two: I hadn't signed up for anything to do with American Prestige). I did however sign up for something to do with David's Bridal regarding winning a wedding dress. When I called David's Bridal to ask about American Prestige, they said that they automatically entered me in the drawing when I purchased my dress. I decided to call American Prestige back and the number worked, as did the extention given to me by the woman who called me. It all seems legitimate despite the negative comments by some people who haven't actually even tried it due to researching answers from others who have no actually tried it.
I figure I might as well attend the presentation. What do I have to lose, 90 minutes of my life?
I hope that you will feel the same way so you don't potentially miss out on a good opportunity.
But like I said, what do you have to lose?

I received the exact same message regarding Karen with a K and winner of a bridal package. The only thing I ever signed up with was David's Bridal as well. Have never been to a bridal show/expo. I have not gotten back in touch with American Prestige, nor have I gone to any cooking demonstration. We work too much to have any time to go to something like that and trying to plan a wedding. Makes a person never want to sign up for anything. You never know what problems follow behind it. The way they give your info out now a days.

i got a call from cheryl who said i had won a bridal package from a drawing i entered into at a bridal fair.  i had a feeling it was a fraud, so i called back when she said she would be out of the office. i dialed her extension but was greeted with the answering machine of a 'jenny' not cheryl. none of the answering machines i went through said anything about the company they were with. only "hi this is jenny, leave a message."

Thank you for doing the right thing and not rewarding such intolerable behavior. I suggest looking elsewhere for this cookware, anywhere else but American Prestige, please. Don't reward scammy marketers. I bet it'll cost quite a bit less elsewhere.

There exist scam companies with A+ BBB ratings. These scams tend to be the kind where the service or product (like the cookware someone else mentioned earlier) is either overpriced or useless, and the scam is in the marketing used to cram the service/product down unwilling victims' throats. Sure, there are freebies to be had but victims should remember the scammers *CANNOT* give away freebies like vacations without making a net profit. The money to cover the cost of the freebies and scam profits have to come from victims' pockets.

I, too, received the call today from a kitty. I am going to go at the end of the month. If anything, my fiance is blunt enough to tell the people to "f" off if they try getting us to do something we dont want to do. But i figured it doesnt hurt to show up for 90 minutes and have the chance of winning some prizes. I guess what i'm trying to say is, if you have doubts, who cares, just go and see what it's all about and just promise yourself you will not sign ANYTHING!

Hope you don't get paid much to shill for these clowns. This is a CLASSIC SCAM. We don't have to let you try to steal our money to figure that out.

I got a phone call last week from  American Prestige about the package that we had won.  My Fiance and I had to go a local Best Western in order to recieve the stuff we had won.  I was skeptical at first and immediatly went to google to find out more about them.  I saw many post from people calling them a scam, but it looked like most people who were calling them a scam had never really went to a demonstration.  I talked about it with my mom and she told me we should go and check it out.  Me and my Fiance went and sat through the 90 minute cooking show and it was not that bad.  The guy doing the demonstration was an Asian guy named Tommy and during the show he was pretty entertaining and informative.  We were blown away with the cookware and decided we were going to buy some.  It is expensive, but my mom has had similar cookware for the last 30 years and it still looks like the day she bought it.  I even called her before we decided to buy it and she encouraged us to.  While we were waiting to buy the set, Tommy was dealing with the other couples to see if they were going to buy also, we overheard him talking with one couple who did not want to buy.  We were amazed at how insulful the guy got when the couple explained how they could not afford it at this time.  He completly belittled the poeple and told them how it was the worst decision they have ever made in not buying the stuff and then he moved on to another couple.  While he was dealing with the other couple, my Fiance and I talked it over and decided that there was no way we would purchase anything from a guy who could be so rude to someone just because they could not afford it.  He came and sat with us finally and we told him we were not going to buy it either and once again the guy got so angry and insulting that I was afraid my fiance was going to get up and punch the guy right in the face.  We got our stuff and got out of there.  We did want to buy it, but there is noway we would want this guy to make any commission off of us.  We will be buying in the future as the products really are amazing, but only when we find a different way to buy them where we do not have to sit and be insulted by the actions of the salesman..

Hi my name is Kathy. I am with American Prestige. I am calling to inform you that you have been selected to receive a Bridal package. Please call me back at 1-888-966-7712, ext 108.

I returned this call and was placed on hold for several minutes. Because I have not been fortunate enough to win such packages I decided to do a little research and found this website. So I am asking that my number be removed because I am not attending anything that I did not start on my own. I am not sure who gave American Prestige my number but I certainly hope that they refrain from including me in this scam.

I hate to have to be the voice of reason here, but you came off as kind of crazy with that post.  Do you really want to argue that in the face of an A+ with the Better Business Bureau?  And anyway, the girl who you accused of being a "scammer" said in her message that they did not request any additional information (e.g. credit card number), so I think we'd be able to easily find out if they are scammers if they did ask for that (and I think most of us would be smart enough not to give out that information).  Also, it appears that all the people who are saying that this is a scam are the same people who don't actually follow through with the presentation.  Maybe this merits more investigation before dismissing it as a scam.

Really? You know, happy customers never post messages like this, because they have no reason to look up the number on a site like this. And they certainly never offer to 'answer questions' LOL.

You know who does that? SCAMMERS LIKE YOU.

Sites like this make it really hard for you to steal money on the phone, so you come here and lie under the mistaken impression that you're smarter than the honest people who come here for true information and to protect themselves from SCAMMERS LIKE YOU.

It's kind of sickening, but the good news is it doesn't really work, we can see right through you.

Hi, I'm from St. Louis, MO.  In response to all the ads-I actually attended the event and went on the vacation last spring. My fiance and I chose the hotel stay.
The presentation was in a little office and took a little over an hour and we did NOT buy.  We still got our package of a motorcycle drawing, a $1,000 coupon voucher, 2 free engagement rings (you have to pay shipping and it's $25/each), and the vacation (you have to book like a month in advance).  We stayed at a Holiday Inn out of state.  It was really easy booking bc I called the company who then gave me an agent's name (I hate giving my info out online).
It seems like maybe there were some scamy companies before or maybe just bad sales reps from different areas, but I was pretty impressed.  Our sales guy was really korny-but they lived up to what the receptionist promised.  And the hotel stay was good, just like a regular Holiday Inn-we didn't even use it as our hooney moon! Haha. I didn't order the rings bc I already have mine.

Also, Prestige has an A+ rating with the BBB. Definately wanted to make sure it was legit before we even went to the demo.

If you get the call, go for it, even if you don't buy a thing.  It's worth getting the vacation if you can't afford it yourself.  Worked for us!!  Reply if u have any Q's, i'll try to check back

I agree about the David's Bridal thing...I too just received "the call" and was also told the same thing...that I signed up at a wedding event, online, or in a maazine, but I don't really remember anything like that (online would be the only possible one). But then I started looking up info on this whole thing and see a lot of ladies all sayig they went to David's Bridal....me included. I'm mostly pissed because I stated to get all excited that I won....

Did anybody actually go? You all are telling the same stories about the call and explaining the same thing, BUT DID ANYBODY GO? That is all I want to know. What is the point of saying what the caller said and everybody telling their story about their call, which is the same as everbody else's. I want to know, Did anybody go?

I recieved a similar phone call last week from a woman named Sylvia. I went to the presentation and the cookware seemed nice, but we do not have the money to buy it. We were told on the phone there were "no strings attached" and all we would have to pay for is the "flight there and back". She explained that it was all expenses paid, but upon looking at the fine print (only one of which was pointed out) and listening to the sales person, we found out that (this they mentioned) we would have to pay a $100 deposit for the hotel and (upon looking at the fine print) almost $100 for taxes. In addition, the free $1000 grocery deal requires that you pay like $4 for shipping and handling. You also are required to have a credit card (which we do not have) and I am worried they would try to charge additional fees on this card. I would like to know if anyone has actually GONE to the vacation and whether it is a scam or not. My fiancee and I do not have the money to spend $2000 on a flight there and back just to wind up screwed.

I got this same call yesterday (Sunday).  I found it odd they were calling on a Sunday afternoon, but whatever.  I got an authorization code to present and was told that was the only thing I had to bring with me to the 90 minute presentation and my guy.  My guy and I went to the presentation tonight.  Very nice people, very good presentation, and really quality cookware.  We do plan to buy the cookware at some point (you know... after the outragous expense of our still very modest wedding and all that).  They do have a bridal registry, one catch to register, you do have to buy something to register for it.  The sales pitch guy (Lee Miller) wasn't pushy in the least though.  Very respectful of the fact we are student and soon to be student with previous student loans without either of our parents there to pay for our wedding.  I'm not complaining about the fact that we are down on money, just trying to make the point that he was very understanding of the economy of it all.  After he understood we couldn't purchase anything at the moment, with no other questions about buying the cookware he asked if we wanted the all inclusive or the non inclusive 3 day 2 night package.  We picked the all inclusive, he handed us a packet with a validation form/certificate, a card to send in to win a Harley Davidson, and a card to send in to get the $1,000 in grocery coupons.  I read all the fine print on everything, the only thing it looks like you have to pay for yourself is (depending on the hotel) the tax of the hotel stay that you pay when you check out.  And the flight, but I was told about that when I talked to Karen.  As well as a $100 refundable deposit (money orders are accepted which made me a lot more comfortable) to the hotel.  I am a huge skeptic, and my guy, even more so.  I told him before we went in that if he sensed anything fishy to grab me and run.  We both left very impressed by the professionalism of it all and the ease of it.  But "nothing in life is free".  I have yet to find anybody that has actually taken their vacation package and only a few that have even gone to the presentation.  If anybody finds anybody that has actually taken the vacation package would you mind posting the link in reply?  I'm very curious and would really like this to be legit.
