Jeff Green also claims to be from London, Ontario. When I called and asked to be taken off their call list after 2 calls in 3 days, and that not the first time it has happened, the young lady hung up on me! I called back and was immediately sent to voice mail, after she claimed NOT to have call display. I suspect they are selling the monthly monitoring with a free security system, not the only company to do so, and not all wanting to put a sign on your lawn for 30 days.

These guys are fly by night operations that come into the local economy and flood the markets and then leave, offering no after sales service of any kind!  Seek out a reputable, local dealer should you require any security related needs.  After 8 years of being in business, I've seen tons of these guys come and go!

Apparently Jeff Green has moved to Fredericton, NB.  Community Protection Canada has moved here and wants me to install a free GE security system in exchange for a sign on my lawn.

I have been receiving calls from Jeff Green of Victoria.  It would appear that he has a number of locations for this, 'Community Protection Canada'.  Free security system my butt.  Who offers anything for free anymore?

I got one of these recorded telemarketing calls just now.  This one was from Jeff Green, claiming to be from "Community Protection Canada", offering a free GE Security System in exchange for displaying an ad sign on your lawn (which I don't have, since I live in a condo), and giving an address of "5205 Airport Road", and a contact number of "1-888-976-8666".  Needless to say, there is no "Community Protection Canada" listed in any telephone directory or website, and 5205 Airport Road is a phony address.

What you need to know is this:

The use of an ADAD (Automated Dialling And Delivery) system for any sort of soliciting is ILLEGAL, under CRTC regulations.  Just take a look at page 25 at the front of your Bell Telephone book.  Violators can have their phone service disconnected on 2 business days' notice.

By telemarketing with this recorded message, the company is clearly in violation of this regulation.  What you need to do is file a complaint with the CRTC and with Bell (or your phone service provider).  When you call your provider, demand to speak with a supervisor, and inform them of the issue.  They will likely try to tell you they can't do anything about it.  DO NOT BELIEVE THIS!  Quote the "ADAD" information in their own phone book, and tell them that the CRTC requires them to determine the offender's service provider and to immediately inform that provider of the violation and that if the offender does not cease & desist immediately, their provider must disconnect their service on 2 days' notice.  By failing to take action, your own service provider is in violation of CRTC regulations.

Unfortunately, neither the CRTC nor the phone companies seem to want to do a big advertising campaign to advise people that the use of ADADs for any sort of solicitation (business purpose) is not only annoying but illegal.  So it's once again up to the harassed consumers to take action to stop these telemarketers.

Incidentally, I blocked my number display, and phoned the contact number.  I then told the woman (who sounded rather confused, like a typical telemarketing drone) that by using the recorded telemarketing messages, the company was in violation of CRTC regulations, and that I was reporting them to the CRTC immediately.  She just said, "Oh.  Well, I'll pass that along."

Sure she will.  In the meantime, I'm calling the CRTC and Bell.

The business may now be using a different phone number 401 675-1375.  I received a call (the last of many) with the same recorded message I had received before.  I think the number previously left on my cell phone was the 888 number.

I received a call but there was no caller ID, so i called GE Security and spoke with a young lady and advised her that a business is operating under their same name. I googled "solicitation calls from GE Securities and came to this site with a phone number. Thanks. Even though if i call the number and was actually able to speak with someone, that will be a shocker. I don't understand why the Government allows a business to even receive a phone number before the business is being researched. I get very nasty when these calls come in. Some are even "smart" to block their numbers. So they think. Call me the "great detective". The fictious businesses can run but they can't hide. I will find you!
