It is market link and they are 'authorized' by Comcast. Called me at 6:30am on a holiday weekend. Extremely pissed.

Says it is an authorized 3rd party for Comcast research.  Wanting to share current promotions.  Good grief!

Yes your customers are stupid. That's why you're stuck in some boiler room posting insults about them.

Are you ppl all this stupid? First of all if you call the number back it has a recording that CLEARLY STATES this is "MARKET LINK, an agent of Comcast" and that if you received a call from them, they were calling to let you know about a current promotion going on with Comcast, most likely to get you to subscribe to more services under the pretext of offering a cheaper price for the first 6 months.  

The constant barrage of "OMGZ THESE PPLZ ARE SCAMMERS" is ludicrous.  They pollute this site with incorrect assumptions. Telemarketers? Yeah. Scammers? No.

Being on the do-not-call list probably doesn't count if you are a current or former Comcast subscriber. Also I bet they would remove you from their list if you ask.

Just answered them.  Silence for a couple seconds.  A guy asked if I was head of household - I confirmed & they hung up.  

I also have Comcast.  Have not pursued Direct TV.

I just got a call from this number but with an extra +1 before the entire number set
I answered and no reply. I stayed on the line and kept saying hello but nothing but silence. What the hell is the point of this?

Says it's a company called Market Link in affiliation with Comcast.

i just called them back. they said that they were market link calling on behalf of comcast. i simply asked to be put on the do not call list. they said to allow 1 month, but after that i would not get any promotional calls.

Got two this morning back to back, no VM. Also have Comcast.

Me too for the past two weeks.  Same as everyone else.  No one picks up when answered and when trying to call it, it drops the call.

I requested that they lower my bundled bill about 6 months ago after it rose almost each consecutive month to around $165.

It is now around $115 after this reduction after I called to complain -and- once I was out of contract.

This is a 'courtesy call' to let me know my bill is going back up.

Call was from Market Link on behalf of Comcast.  They were calling with a promotional offer.  I got this information by calling the number back and holding until the line transferred to an operator.  After reaching the offer I requested they opt me out of future phone calls and they politely complied.  I would suggest you do the same.

Just received 2 calls back to back from this number, didn't answer either. I too have Comcast and recently contacted them upset about my bill going up. I also contacted Direct TV recently to consider switching, but I ultimately never did.

I've been getting calls since 8/13... if I answer no one says anything.  We just cancelled Comcast last month.

I received a call earlier from a guy that fumbled through the script, asked questions about "what do you watch and what do you use the internet for?" Then he didn't really even ask me to buy a phone, but said that adding a phone line was the reason he called.  He kept fumbling so I was suspicious and so I asked his name and he told me Alex Bennett.  The caller ID number was 888-983-4369.  When I called it back it was a dead line, so I called Comcast/Xfinity and they confirmed that that is not one of their numbers.  

If you receive a call from them don't give any personal information!

I never answer numbers I don't know. I let it go to voice mail, but they did not leave one. Just like what others are saying, I have comcast as well.

I received two calls in two calls. I too, just switched from Direct TV to Comcast, has anyone done this switch also?  Direct TV has been trying to get me to come back, even after they had all their gear back.

This is so annoying.  I answer the phone and no one is there.  They call back within 5 seconds, same results.  This went on for 5 more calls.  Tried not answering and letting voice mail take the call, but they either don't leave a message or they just hang up when voice mail answers.  Don't know who they are and don't care, just would like them to stop calling.  I too have Comcast, and if it's them, they should give me a couple of free months service due to these calls.  If anyone finds out who they really are and it turns out to be Comcast, anyone that has received a call should cancel service with Comcast.

Hmmm, I just got a call too, but did not answer. Based off of what another person said earlier, I was searching for new satellite service the other day on the Internet; so maybe they got my info somehow.  I currently have Comcast and they suck. Tuesday, August 20, 2013
