My experience today is similar to those descri bed above.The initial called, who claimed to be in training, attempted to be corgial, asking me how I was, etc., then passed the 'phone to "my supervisor. She gonna explain the call to you." No case number was given, and when I asked if I could vervify the company, the "supervisor" said, "Sir, they just gonna refer you back to us." Said I was in default of a loan plus its interest and offered three options: settlement, hardship settlement, or installments. Surprised at the variance in amounts, I checked my email history, since one would have had to have received notice via email, but, of course, had never communicated with a company such as Advance [sic] Cash Loan, and certainly had not taken a loan from them.

Turns out, however, that, like Lesa above, I may have been scammed this spring by the Advanced Payday Loan Plus people, with whom I never had a loan----------as it turns out------------and to whom, in a sort of panic, I sent money! When I asked, today's called said said she did not know "what that company is, sir, I do apologize. Both speakers were female and spoke with urban Afro-American tone, attempting to solicit fear and action.

I just got the same message off of my recorder. I got on here and did reverse number search and ended up here. My husband has been looking into cash advances and answering phishing scams, so guess they got his number. Glad to know we are not the only ones out there, and I am not going to bother returning the call to this place.

Was called by them just a few minutes ago left a voice messege that they were going to serve me with check fraud. I called the number they left on my voice mail and they say I owe them 900. TODAY not tomorrow or next week. Told them I dont have that kinda of money they came back with a offer for 600.00 I told them Im on a fix income.. they came back again asking for 300.00 I told them I have it next week and they said nope its today or nothing. They said they were going to contact social security and have my check held from me.. I dont get SS IM on workers comp. Ive been getting all kind of weird calls today ugh

I received a similar call, stating I owed money for a bad check from a payday loan that I did not take out. I was told I need to pay $900 today or I would be served with papers. They had all of my information and at first I was afraid. However after checking I realize this is a scam and I will report them to all authorities.

I got the same phone call saying I was being sued from advance payday plus for a loan I got on September 17, 2011.  I never got a loan from this place.  They say I gave a bad check to the payday company and I am being sued.  The number they called from was unknown 000-000-0000.  I checked my voice mail and I called the number they left 888-985-5472.  I need to know what to do becuase I know I never got a loan from this place.  Is this really a fraud.

Got the same message also just now; said they were trying to locate me to serve me papers; either at my work or home. Said it was a bad check I wrote; never had a loan through this Advance Payday Plus; also had a bank name that I have not had an account with for over 5 years.  I hung up and checked this website... I am so sick of these scammers!

I got the call just now on my cell and work number, but I am not calling.  if this is legit, they can find me.

I got a call on my cell and at my employment.  It was a recording saying I wrote a bad check and since they haven't been able to contact me, they are going to have papers served to my place of employment.  I knew it was something not right, I do have a checking account, but don't have any bad checks out there!  The number also showed up as 000-000-0000.

Got the same call about an hour ago and this is crazy because i haven't had a checking account since 2008.

I just got the same call!!!  I have no idea ofwhat they are talking about!  THey want $900

Yesterday, i got the same call. the message left indicated that since they could not set a time to meet me  and served with legal documents, i would be served at work or home.

gave them the case number, said i took out a loan from advanced payday loans in sep. of 2011-i haven't taken out any loans, and then he asked about the last 4 digits of my social and told me 4 digits,they weren't mine-i didn't give him mine, but he apologized and said they had the wrong number.

correction-the company is Johnson York

got the same call-saying i wrote a bad check. they even gave a case number-i don't have a checking account, and haven't had one for almost 10 years! i called the number and it says it's for Johnson New York, and after being on hold for about a minute, it said I had to leave a message for "election"-not sure what kind of scam this is....

I also got a message on my phone from this same number and the man said the exact same line. I didn't understand his name either. This number says its for a candy place or something like that. Did you get any answers to your post.

Received a call from 888-985-5472- The man gave his name but I could understand it. He indicated that he received  a fax order in his office about a bad check  that I had written. He had some legal documents to be served.  He called to schedule a place and time to meet. However since he was unable to reach  me, he will be actively trying to servie the documents to my work or residence.  He also indicated that I have been official notified.
