My wife returned a call to this number and it was a collection agency who was trying to collect on a old bill for the person who used to have our phone number.  At least that what she was told.

Message left said she was calling from Fairview Range Medical Center.

I just called 888-987-1575 again and talked to someone named "Tricia" who said this number is for "Fairview University Medical Center"...again, another company with which I have no connection. How can we possibly be getting different names for different companies at the SAME number? I explained that I have no business with them and never have and asked that they stop calling my home. She wanted my FULL NAME and social security number. I asked her to give me hers first along with HER home telephone number so I can call her at her private residence and start the same harrassment on HER. Of course she declined.

I have been getting calls from this number and I have NEVER had any account of any kind with Excel Energy...NEVER. They know my name and claim they are "attempting to collect a debt"...that I cannot POSSIBLY owe.

Keep getting this # calling my cell phone - From looking online it looks like it is from Xcel energy trying to collect a bill.  I have never done business with Xcel and wouldn't have given them my cell # even if I had done business with them.

sounds like a scam to me all of the xcel #s i have r 800 #s i called back the # and a woman ansered the phone laughing and it sounded like a party in the back ground she even hade to ask me the # i was calling from i told her that this dont sound like xcel energy to me and she said y and i told her that i would call the # i know to call and she said whatever. sounds like a scam.or xcel better get better phone operators. i got this call in pueblo co.

got a call after hours sent with urgent status from Alicia saying urgent message from Xcel.  I call back, have a recording saying please hold, then phone call drops.  Glad to find on the Internet it is just a hoax.

I had a missed call from this number and called it back. First, I got the standard "please hold, we value your call" recording, but the interesting thing was it started right there, not with "you have reached..."

So when the operator answered I explained that I was following up a missed call but didn't know who they were. She asked me for the phone number the missed call had been to, and I figured since I was calling from it she would know anyway so I told her.

Then she read my name back to me and asked if that was me, at which point I said I would not answer questions about my identity until she told me where she was calling from. She said she was calling from Xcel Energy, and that 'my account was no longer with her department but she could give me another number to call'.

I asked what I was supposed to be calling that number about, and then she finally told me that I had money owing on my Xcel account. I explained that I had already paid this late bill several days ago. She apologized and said it probably hadn't been entered in the system yet. I asked if I should call the other number anyway to make sure no action was taken, but she said no.

The whole thing kind of spooked me. Her tone throughout the call was as if she was a secret agent, like I was being watched and not allowed to find out by whom. She even talked really quickly as if I might miss something  :-) I guess whether she called from actual Xcel or from a separate collection agency, they have to be prepared for people trying to disappear on them. They didn't know I was just a normal, honest person who slipped up on a bill but had corrected it... Anyway, I'm glad I found this site!

I received a call from Alicia at Xcel Energy also, who left a message saying that it was a matter needing urgent attention. I do have an account with Xcel Energy, but the number they called me on was a new cell phone and not a number Xcel Energy would have. I called back, they asked for the phone number that they had called. After looking it up, they said they were calling for someone named Jennifer. I told them that this was a new number I just received on a new cell phone. They apologized and said the number would be removed.

Just got a call saying "urgent message that requires your immediate attention."  I called it back and it's not a collection agency.  It's the billing department at Xcel energy.

I've been getting several calls from them. They also left a message saying that I need to contact them urgently and it required my immediate attention. That's all she said. Didn't say my name, her name, the point of the call or anything.

Another thing, I have absolutely nothign to do with Excel Energy. I have never had any relationship with them whatsoever.

Sounds like a scam to me.

They left a message at work after hours. Very urgent for us to call back with no further explanation.  I call back and ask for Elisha who left the message and am told she just calls the people to leave messages.  After punching in this 888 number I see the are collecting overdue bills and ask her if that is why I am calling.  She says it is, probably an employee has a personal overdue bill.  She has no idea what name or number originally called and asks me!  We have over 50 unpublished and published numbers so I was of no help to them.  Good luck to them with their backward methods but they got a return call.

I got a call from this number as well. I received a call a couple of weeks ago about collecting on a bill from excel. I don't remember if it was the same 888 number, but they were trying to collect on a bill that I had already paid but hadn't been cleared off of my credit report yet. This time they got the right total on what I owe. I said that I would feel more comfortable calling excel and she claimed that they were excel. Either way I don't trust it and I am calling Excel direct.

Thats because you owe them money....
