The BBB is a scam. Its a pay as you play program. All smoke and mirrors.  If you do good biusness with people you dont need to pay the BBB for a good rating.  Save your money and tell them they do not have your permission to use you or your company's name in anyway shape or form unless they want to pay you a fee to do so.

We received the same phone call this morning.  Same guy and number.  Thanks for the remark.  Not calling back either.

Pushed talk then quickly pressed end.  Added number to blocked list.

Got another call from these SH*Theads. I answered for the purpose of telling them not to call again.  Line was dead.

Our business received a call, like the ones reported above. The young lady that called identified herself as Dawn Martin from BBB.  She wanted to speak to the owner, who wasn't here at the time. She left a message to call her back @ 888 995-0740 ext 119.  Sounded like a scam so we did not take any action

Whe obvious implication of a call or voice-mail from the BBB is that your business might have had a customer complaint. WRONG.  This is a telemarketing call pure and simple.  A legit organization would state the reason for the call rather than just leave a name and "Better Business Bureau calling for the business owner."

OK, so maybe not a scam, but definitely SCUM from a telemarketer who clearly is paid on COMMISSION.

When they asked for a credit card to pay the annual fee and wouldn't fax me the infomation, I called my local branch of the BBB and it is legitimate.

We received a call from 888-995-0740 x111.  They were calling from the BBB's Business Relations.  I called our local BBB to verify the number. It is a legit BBB number. They were offering accreditation with the BBB.  There is an annual fee associated with the accreditation.

I received a call from that same #.   What are they wanting if they really are the BBB?

This is the Better business bureau business relations department. I called to verify it is not a scam. The young lady I spoke with was very nice and professional. I was very leary considering all the scams so I checked it out myself. I really didnt think it was the bbb at first because of the toll free number it was explained to me they have the toll free number for when people call back from other area codes.

Got a call from 888-995-0740 and wasn't sure about it so I contacted my local BBB office and it checked out. FYI

Donna Jones called from this number, requesting to speak with the person able to make financial decisions. She gave this number, x103. I asked the higher ups if our company had recently contacted Better Business Bureau, but they had not. Seems really fishy.

Got a call and left a message that it was Margaret Piere? (very difficult to understand) from BBB and wanted to talk to the owner - wanted to call back to 888 995 0740 Ext 118 - said would be in office till 4pm.    It all sounded phony and looked up and see it appears to be a scam call.

I got the call from 8889950740 ext 111, they had left message on voice message. She said she was with the BBB. I told her I had already been contacted and wasn't interested. I don't really think this is the BBB, it sounded phony

I received a call from this number at my place of business.  The message left for me was that Kelly Hall with the BBB wants to talk to me about Accreditation Reporting Language.  The extension was x111.

I am not calling back.  I can not find this number associated with any bbb so I assume it is a scam.

Caller claimed to be from the BBB and left this number with an ext#107.  Caller was a female.  

Caller ID just said "TOLL FREE NUMBER".  If it were truly from the local BBB about an important issue - they would call from a local number.

I am not calling back.  It is likely just a telemarketer and since they did not even leave a name - sounds like a scam....

This call was from a sales rep from Trip Advisor website.  Trip Advisor has false information about businesses.  I refuse to deal with them, yet they still harass me with telephone calls and mail.

Received a call from a Lenny Sherman claiming to be from the Better Business Bureau requesting a callback from the owner before 4:00.  He gave 888-995-0740 x102 as a callback number.  (The caller ID said 516-345-7468 which is somewhere in the Boca Raton, FL area.)  I did a search on Lenny Sherman BBB and it took me to this 800notes website where you can cross-reference 877-754-3517 for more information about Lenny Sherman and others supposedly calling from the BBB.  If this IS a legitimate call from the BBB, they should seriously rethink their marketing approach.  Doesn't matter.  I'm not calling back!
