Your caller had the nerve to use the name of a well-known actress?!  Incredible.  On my end, "Haley Williams" (a gentleman with a heavy accent) claimed to be with the Texas State Business Development Office.  He wanted to speak with someone in our Facility Services Dept.  I said our directories go by last name only, so I required a contact name, and he hung up.

East Indian accent.  Calling to see if we have moved yet.  Are we moving.  I was asked to confirm our address and then he ended call.  Said from BBB.  Why would BBB care??

Repeated calls, sometimes 3x per day, representing them selves as the BBB. Today, a new one: said they are with the State of Texas Dept. of Economic Affairs. Both calls today were within 5 minutes of each other Always the same question: "Are you moving or planning to move and if so has your business found a new location?" Always foreign accents. I have reported to BBB and they need more info to pursue fraud & would like to do so. I asked for more info from them and they disconnected the call. Definitely some sort of scam. Do not answer their questions. Please collect as much info as possible & report to BBB

Recieved 11 calls in the last 2 business days claiming to be from 2 or 3 different associations. Heavy accent, changes every time.

Called saying that they were with the BBB and wanting to update the BBB listing.  If they were from the BBB why are they not calling from the local office here in Calgary?

Heavy accent, very difficult to understand. Said he was calling from "Pennsylvania Office of Business Development" and they were updating their directory for 2013, and wanted to know if my company had moved.

When I asked for more detail (why he was calling/where calling from) he said they wanted to see if I'd moved this year or if I was planning to move next year.

Again, I prompted for more detail, said I wasn't comfortable giving my information without knowing more about who they were. I asked for a website address a few times, and he kept ignoring me.

He gave me my company name (a newly formed LLC), and then asked to speak to my manager. I said I was the owner, and he kind of laughed and said "You're the owner?" And I asked to speak to HIS manager. He said the manager was in a meeting, and hung up on me.

A woman with an indian accent said she was from the Better Business Bureau. She confirmed our street address then asked if our business has plans to move or are looking for a place to relocate. I told her I couldn't answer that question since I was the front desk. She asked for the person who could answer it. I told her they weren't available but offered to take a message. She hung up right after that.

The BBB have a post on their website about this number.

I called the BBB local office and they haven't contacted us for at least 10 months.

I keep getting this damn lady calling saying shes from the better business bureau of CANADA, her forth time calling. This time, she said she was 'the 'manager' of the better business of bureau. I said noone was available to take her call. asked her to leave a number. (Obviously we were not gonna call her back, we get calls like this daily. ) She said she didnt have a number to leave. I'm like if youre from the better business bureau of canada, why are you calling from this 8897053113 number? She mumbled something. Then I asked, if you're the manager of BBB, why cant you give me your phone number. She said she couldn't and that she would call back. Then I decided to ask for her address. She mumbled something and kept cutting me off to talk to someone else at the office. I told her if she can't leave a number, then noone will talk to her. Then i finally got bored of talking to her, and hung up.

They have called our office two dozen times over the past couple of months. They say they are from either the BBB or the business development office (making it sound official). They always ask the same question, "are you still planning to move office space?". Just received a call a moment ago. The young woman had a very strong Filipino accent. After I told her to get a real job, she and her co-workers called back 9 or 10 times trying to harass me. Good for a laugh, but a BIG waste of time.

Called and asked fairly harmless questions about the business...address, # employees, etc...not sure what they would do with the information, but it is identical to the above cases. I just thought it odd, not dangerous.

Also received a call. Same as the others here. A woman with a thick accent said she was from the Better Business Bureau and wanted to know if we had found a new location yet or if we were still looking. I told her we were not looking. She sounded surprised and asked "you're not trying to find a new place?" I told her we're not, and she hung up.  I'm not sure what their reason is for calling around asking that, but I get these calls every once in a while. I haven't noticed if it's always from this number. I'm making a note of it and next time I'll see if it's this same number.

Same as the rest above. Called our business and asked if we had found a location or still looking to move. I told him I didn't understand. He said he was from the CA Better Business Bureau, although he could barely speak clearly. I didn't answer his question and when I paused giving him an answer (as I googled the number) he put me on hold then hung up on me.

The number showed up on my caller ID, but the person did not leave a message.  Since I did not recognized the number I searched in Google to see if the number was from a potential employer (I am unemployed).

We get a call every few months.  Lady w/ a very heavy accent. She said she was from the BBB (Arizona)  She hung-up when I started asking questions.

Just got a call from this number claiming they were calling from the Better Business Bureau and then said economic dept. He was clearly phishing and insisted that he would call back.

I've asked them repeatedly to take us off their list as we're not moving and have been getting this call every few months for at least the last year and a half.  Just now I tried to ask again and she flat out said "No".  Before I could say anything else, she was gone.

I received a call from this number asking questions about my buisness that I own and if we were moving locations and she wanted to know how many employees I have working for me as well. I did not give nay personal information but was concerned by the nature of her call, she had a thick accent and I tried to call the number back and it was a non working number.

Caller stated he was from the Michigan Development Office located in Detroit, but stumbled badly when I asked him what the weather was like at his office in Detroit. (i'm in Detroit) Caller hung up in a snit. hahahaha. I like playing with these twits.

Repeated calls from 8897053113 saying they're "Better Business Bureau and wanting to update their records - have we moved yet." We've been getting these calls for years and continually ask to be removed from the call list to no avail.

THIS 8897053113 NUMBER HAS BEEN CALLING OUR LAW FIRM FOR MONTHS, ALMOST TO THE POINT OF HARRASMENT! I AM NOW AT THE POINT WERE I AM TURNING THE TABLES AND REPORTING THEM TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION OFFICE! I REALLY HOPE THESE SCAMMERS WILL GET CAUGHT SO PEOPLE CAN GET BACK TO WORK

Received numerous calls at the switchboard from 889-705-3113 stating they were either the BBB or the State of Michigan Business Development.  On the first call shw asked to verify the company address  and then asked if we were moving or expanding.  When I questioned her as to why the BBB would want that information, she hung up.  Obvious spam.

Claimed they were from the IL Business Dev. Office. Obviously fake.

Initially they ask to confirm my address. When I ask who this they claim they are the BBB. When I ask what the purpose of the call they hang up. B*****ds!

A man with a heavy accent called this morning stating he was calling from the BBB of Oregon. The man asked if our office had moved or if we were still looking for a new building. When I asked him for a number to have my corporate office call back, his reply was that the calls are computer generated and there is no number to return calls to. I asked him again 2 more times and he kept giving me the same answer. I told him the call is over and to take our number off of his list. I then called the BBB or Oregon and reported the call. Calls from this number are not from the BBB of Oregon, more like a phishing scam. Especially since they won't give you any way to contact them back.

Calls claiming they r calling with the BBB but I see a few days ago claimed they were with the State of TX and asking to verify our address became rude...hung up on him and he called back and he got the dial tone again.

I received the same call as the previous posters. A man called and said he was from the Business Development Office of the State of IL.  He wanted to know if we have found new space yet and asked if we were expanding.

Kate Jackson (with heavy accent) - same as all of the above. This one said she was from the DC Business Development Office and gave a bogus address when I turned the tables and started asking her for the same information she was trying to get from me.

A lady verified our address and then asked if we had found a new office to move to.
