That looks to be a holding or finance company for Cheaptickets.com.  It shows up as their fees in addition to the ticket price.  If you have done business with them or possibly someone else who uses that processing company, then they may call you.  You'll need to get in touch with Cheaptickets.com to get off their phone list.

This company from this phone number 889-922-8849 charge me $261.33 on my bank account. I have no idea how they got my account or who is this company. I didn't purchase anything from them. Luckily that my bank company cancelled the transaction and put a fraud alert on them and now I got my money back! BE AWARE ON YOUR ACCOUNT!!! Make sure that you check it constantly!

My credit card company says the charges are from a travel agency...probably Cheap Tickets.  If it shows up more than once on her credit card bill or shows up on several statements...you need to contact your credit card company and ask for the Early Fraud Detection department and they will block this company from charging you.

I purchased airplane tickets from Cheaptickets.com, and was charged $6.99 for each ticket by CTX **** 889-922-8849 on my credit card. I also purchased airplane tickets from Orbits.com and was also charge $6.99 for each ticket by ORB **** 889-922-8849. Those charges are not additional charges; they were included in the ticket price that I got online. Adding this fee to the ticket charge on your credit card will be equal to the price you had online.

we got charged over $700.00.  We completely missed it because it looked like the same amount a check was written for in that week.

If you add up your CTX charge and the charge for the airline ticket, in my case united,  you should get the total cost of your ticket from cheapticket.com. After reviewing my bill, it made sense to me. I will not be using cheaptickets anymore. But it made sense.

I purchased an airplane ticket from Orbitz.com but I was also surfing Cheaptickets.com but never made a purchase. They charged me a fee of 6.99 for nothing from Cheaptickets, I will dispute this and get it credited back into my credit card.

Thank you!  I went through the exact same process but didn't realize the fee was exactly what I purchased through Cheap Tickets until I read your post.  No extra fee, just cryptically identified merchant.

I did not recognize CTX on a c/c bill that I received and the only additional information available was the 889-922-8849 number. I tried to call it and my call did not go through. I then did some research online of the number and came to this site, so I immediately thought it was a scam too. It turns out that I recently purchased tickets from cheap tickets as well. I went back to my bill and saw a charge from CTX, two charges from American and a charge for Insurance. I added them all up and they equalled the total charge from cheap tickets. They should let you know that the charges are going to appear this way on your bill. In my case this was no scam, but looked very suspicious. CTX must be a cheap tickets fee.

It seems that the $6.99US is removed from the main purchase and charged separately.  So if you add the 6.99 fee to the main amount it should equal the amount on the invoice from CheapTickets.  It is a legit charge, just an odd way of charging the account.

I appreciated this thread since I had a large amount on my cc bill.

Because of this thread, I knew it was okay because we had used cheap tickets and the charges are exactly right and valid.

I do wish that when I called the phone number it would have answered.

You should probably tell everybody that it was a 'Cheap Ticket' charge.  I'm sure by now your bank has straightened things out and the charge went back to your account after all.

I had this same number: 889-922-8849 on a separate charge of $38 from the $340 plane ticket I purchased from CheapTickets and was worried it was some kind of hidden fee. However, I remembered that it was simply the extra cost of the airport shuttle I purchased in addition to my airfare.

After seeing this on my bank statement, I thoght it might be a service fee hidden in the fine print. It turns out I made one entry in my register but the ticket and the service fee were two transactions. Thanks everyone here for the help.

I noticed a charge on my account with this number provided as the contact. The call did not complete to this number and after reading the previous postings, I called the number provided for Customer Service on the Cheap Tickets website. It turns out that while they do not charge flight booking fees, they do access charges for a service fee "in order to continue offering their valued consumers discounted prices". Which might I add took 15 mins for the respresentative to share this information given that she kept dodging the question and telling me the perks of purchasing from them.

I checked on my bank statement online and I see an deduction of $143.55 which I know nothing about.  Cheap tickets deducted the airfare of $524.40 and that was all I was told it would be charged.

I also recently ordered tickets from Cheaptickets.com, and found this on my credit card statement.  But I don't remember them saying that I'd have to pay this amount.

I too got the same bill. And I did just order tickets from cheap tickets... so that must be what it is. Feels kind of iffy to me though since I didn't see anywhere about this fee being separate from the initial.

thanks to MAX--I had this place take money out of my bank account as well--and since I HAVE in fact purchased tickets from Cheap tickets, it is "kind of" ok--I have yet to find out WHERE in the purchase agreement that this fee is charged, and that is up to me now.
