This is a phone number that can be called for 5th 3rd bank.  They charge $5.00 to verify funds.  That is the craziest thing I have ever heard.

i'm so sick of these people taking my money. at least be upfront about it and tell me it's going to cost me. thst way i would have known ahead of time to take my business to the credit union. still free there.

I received a check today from an account with Fifth Third bank and needed to verify the funds of the check. The bank gave me this number 900-733-5353 to call to verify the funds. This number is a "premium phone number" meaning that you are charged for this number if you call it. It does NOT tell you the amount of the charge nor can you call the number from a prepaid phone card. I know years ago I called a 900 number and there was a $895 charge on my phone for that call!!! This is totally not right to have a pay for a check to be verified on a bank that you have received a check from one of their customers...

Got the check and why do I have to call this number.
