A good pupil? As to those who buy old or paid off depts years after they are SOL and/or have been paid off? Did you mean people? This guy called , not sure how he got the number. But has called constantly. Finally my husband answered and the guy was a DB from the start. Asking if all kinds of questions. My husband told him , I will not deal with you, I don't know who you are, not sure why your calling except to try to harrass money. The guy did everything to try to find out if we had a car, if we had a bank account ect..ect..The guy is attempting to extort money , this company is one of those that buys old debts...8 years after the SOL. The problem was solved over 12 years ago. We all know that our government won't do anything, can't stop people from selling our numbers , even though there is a do not call list. I blow a whistle in their ear or just keeping dialing random numbers. As it is right now FTC, our government is not doing a thing . Our numbers are being sold constantly . And these people who say they are good "pupils" are paid to come on here and give good feed back. Look it up. Pupils?? Really???

Well, I see the last post was from March, 2011...  I'm guessing they are back at it again as this number has shown up on my caller ID on my celly.  Yesterday - I didn't answer it.  So far they've not called back.  Will Update If they Do.

They say they are from the legal dept of a internet loan dept collector. Are they for real???

the number was listed as +000000000.  There is an ap out there that will send fake numbers to the recipient.  They can typre whatever number they want you to see.  AT&T brought this to my attention.

I have received several calls from this Indian guy.  The first day of calls was last week and he sounded legitimate.  He asked me if I knew a certain person and that she had defaulted on a payday loan.  He said that I was one of the references she out on the application.  I told him that I did not know her.  He kept on going and going!  I then said that I was interested and hung up.  He called back.  The calls escalates along with my temper.  The last call on that first day, he basically gave up!  Today he called back again about thirty minutes ago and stated that his name was Steven Brown...LOL!  NOW he says that he was sending an investigative team over to my house!!!  I laughed at him and told him to send them over immediately.  He then began cussing and saying choice words about my mother.  That was the it for me.  I tore this guy a new one for about 10 minutes and told him to put me on speaker phone so I could the rest of his crew what I needed to say.  I threatened with the FBI, police and call trace.  I then told them all that KARMA was coming to get them!  LOL!  For some reason, after those words, he hung up and no more calls.  If this guy or anyone like this EVER calls you...Just put them in their place.  Do not take crap from scammers.  This is where "GETTING PISSED" really works!

I received a call from these scam artists....first of all they can barely speak english.  He left a voicemail stating that I had a criminal case against me.  I called back and asked if this was a collection agency as I heard several voices in the background that sounded like telemarketers.  He then said that it was a legal office in the state of Tennesee.  Any legal agency would give their name.  I then hung up.  Then another guy with a heavy accent called back and he began to beat around the bush about this so called criminal case.  I kept asking him "For what?"  He then said it was for a payday loan and that I had 4 counts against me....I abruptly told him that the loan was paid and that if he ever called me again I would get an attorney and sue him.  As he did not have anything to say to this, I hung up on him....please know that this would never be anything criminal.  At best, it would be a civil matter and they would need to do way better than a creepy phone call with an idiot who can barely speak english.  These people are "Ignorant beyond reason!"

I just received a call from this same number and my story is the same as everyone else's. The guy told me his name was Charles Green and he knew my bank name, routing number, checking account number, my SSN, my address and some references name that I put on an application. When I told him I would be turning this information to the police he at first tried to get smart with me, then the phone went silent and hung up.

Please be careful out there...I am changing all of my information ASAP...and I am leery of filling any forms out online from here on out!!

theres this man saying his name is charles green and he is with the buearu of criminal identification in memphis tennesse. he is saying i have a payday loan with cash net advance i have google  and went on line cant find anything. he has my ssn my address my work number this is really scary.  he says he is forwarding paper work that shows whm i am suppose to owe within 5-7 businnes days and all the fees are going to add up 1566.00 and it will be settled in court.  i asked for doucumentation before i would make any payments he just wanted to aruge with me and tell me it is going to the sherriffs office of where i live. i really think he is a fraud and scam artist. so anyone be careful.

Got a call from a foreigner stating his name was robin Ray, with the Bureau of criminal investigations, claimed my name and social security number were flagged and I needed to call him back or legal action would be taken and charges would be brought against me, a week later he called afriend of mine wanting him to verify my ss#, today he called again with the same message with the addition if I didn't return his call, that may god bless me. I received a vm message from these A#$wipes who I could barely understand when I called them back this Indian fool stated I owe them money from a payday loan, which I never, ever applied for a loan. When I said when was the loan taken out, he told me in 2009, he was talking to fast. I told him to slow down because at this point I was actually getting a laugh from him, and told him I couldn't understand him, he cleared it up enough and told me that was my problem, I said a few explixit names and hung up. I work for the State Government and had one of the Attorneys from my job call them back, when the Attorney co-worker gave them some legal information on his harrassing vm and the legal aspect of him harrassing me on a Government phone he hung up.

I got the call from them only the guy sounded Asian.  He claimed to be Agent Charles from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.  He said I was the primary suspect in three serious criminal investigations, and I had to call him back as soon as I got the message, or there would be two Agents at my door to arrest me, and i would be "spending the weekend in jail behind bars".  All of this was in broken english.

I called the number, got some crappy answering machine saying "not available, leave a message"  So I did.  I said I just got this threatening call and didn't know who they were but if they want to make allegations, they should be prepared a slander law suite.  If they call back I wont answer, or if I do, I may just have to use a little friendly persuasion with him.

I sure would like to know how the Jerks get our bank account numbers, and SSN???
I'd also like to know where they are located, cause I would love to pay them a friendly visit with my attorney.

this indian schmuck called me yesterday twice and today and also my job! he said he was an officer in the bureau of criminal investigation and that he hopes i have a good lawyer that hes gunna have me arrested and never told me what the issue was.. i owe nothing and just paid my loan off. I told him i contacted the attorney general and the indian guy said well good luck and god have mercy on you.. i told him i will have a cease and desist order on him if he calls me again. do not call these people back!! it is a SCAM!!

SCAM ARTISTS TRYING TO SCARE PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY!

They are saying they are from Bureau of Criminal Investigation

I had the Indian guy call me as well and said he was from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation. Also had my last 4 digits of my social. When he stated he was going to record our conversation I said wait I can barely understand you then he changed his voice three times so you can understand a little better. This shows they are using voice machines. I said to him I am going to get my lawyer first and then he had nerve to threaten me saying I need to get a lawyer to save my life. This is ridiculous how these people are.

An Indian man not able to pronounce my name or street address correctly said he was calling from The Law Office of Jim Black for criminal investigation. Freighteningly enough he also recited the last four digits of my social security number. He said that it is a time sensitive matter and I or my attorney needs to call back as soon as message is recieved to avoid my arrest? I haven't a clue what this is about but it is scary that he had alot of my information. He called my cell phone, I have only had this cell for 2 months and only family has the number!

I received a call this morning saying that I had until tomorrow morning at 11:00am to prove that the amount had not been deposited into my bank account. The bank account number was correct, but no such deposit was ever made and I was not approved for any payday loan. He would not give his company name or supervisor, owner or anyone else.

The company name upon returning the call is Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

He did not provide the required information that this is a call regarding a debt or an effort to collect a debt. This is against the US fair debt requirements.

I received these same calls from this Indian man posing as an officer Jim Black with the criminal investigation unit regarding a loan that i have never received and that i was going to go to jail. I called my attorney and gave them the details and i was advised to file a police report about being scammed and notify the Social Security administration office to get my ssn number flagged. Also that number is a line used in the St. Jude's children's hospital so we can report this to that hospital and also contact the local beaureu of criminal investigation and inform them and bring this guy down because that number can definitly be traced.

I knew when they called it was a scam. I have not had a payday loan in a good while and the one and only one I had the people were really nice and friendly and did nothing but try and help you if you got into a bind. I would really like  to know when these thieves get caught!

I keep getting calls from this number also...they called a few months back and I ignored them and they went away. then they called today and have all my info...which is really scary!
my sister n law pretended that it was her number and that she didnt know who the heck i was....then the dumb guy tried asking for her name. she got mad at him and told him it is illegal to make threats and he was like oh dont you speak to me like that...call those cops...so these guys are so annoying. Can they do anything with my info??

The same guy called and he had my ssn too! He never say what company he has from or anything. He stated that he was an attorney and he was going to sue me. WTH kind of business is this?

I just called them and asked why they are extorting money on a national holiday.  The guy sounded Indian, maybe, which would explain why they are scamming on Thanksgiving.

These people called me up this morning telling me that they were going to sue me for 2000 dollars if i did not pay them today or at least give them half of a payment today and that I could settle it in court for 2000.  These people are fradulent.  They are not real, and because of them I have had to go through a lot of hassel to cancel my card and get a new one for my money to be put on.  These people do not need to be calling people who can barley meet their financial means as it is and take this much money from them.  It is a rotten and very mean thing to do to someone and a stop needs to be put to it.  I hope that they get cought and that they get sued for what ever they have taken from people.  I almost had money taken from me and I am sure that others have had the same thing happen to them.
