Fax machine...

I got this fax through this morning. I'm in Sydney, Australia. What an idiot. Surely no one would fall for this.

Our office received the same fax from "William Barnes" early this year. The one we received today was a slightly re-worded version by "Robert Barnes" and the number, 250-984-3638 came through a landline in Victoria, British Columbia.
The sad thing is that there are people greedy and naive enough to fall for this scam.

i just received an email requesting my fax number from this same individual so he could send me a top secret fax! lmao! i'm going to send him an email back alright. i'm also going to share his email address so we all can tell him to f*ck off!!

We received this fax on our company too. I decided to look info up and I found several people who received it too. Also, I wondered if there was a marine with that name and I found this link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19468669/

Same fax today 6/7/10 from 877-291-5413 with his email address as williams.barnes@infantrymarine.com.

I just received a fax from this %$#^ calling "itself" a Marine. May Williams Barnes rot in Hell.

its the classic NIGERIAN 411 Scam that has been going on for years -  ITS not a NEW SCAM
They are looking for people to fall for it.

Just started getting multiple faxes from this one. Freakin' annoying. Wasting paper and my time. What happened to using a good ol' e-mail scam? Sheesh.

Got this facks at the ransh a cuuple weecks ago and followd the inzructions.  Now Im rollin in cash!!  Thank you Marines.  I now has moor muney then God.

I got this fax too.. so they ask us for this information and then when we contact them ask us for our account numbers so they can steel all of our money? Has anyone fallen for this, thats reading this stuff? I just want to know how they do it. People like this piss me off. I got it at work and am going to show the director.

'Mister' Barnes is also attempting here in Belgium, just received a similar fax but without a phone number; he asks for the following details though : name, adress, private phone number en leaves an e-mailadress to respond to.

Called my local telephone provider and you can set up on your line something called "Call Reject Selective". It is $1.95/month CDN and it basically rejects that phone number. You can remove this feature at any time. Will wait and see whether any more faxes come in. Last one was at 4 a.m.

OK, I have received this fax about 8 times in the last 24 hours. What a pain. I'll try calling those numbers listed for Canada and see what happens. Waste of paper, waste of time, waste of ink... what's the point?

Received this fax today at my home in CANADA!  Perhaps the Marines should be deployed to Nigeria to search and destroy these degenerates.

Just got the fax a few min ago. It sounds like most of you are from the USA, we are in Canada and now its spreading here, I heard about this fax last week. These people are horrible!

Came to work this morning and saw this fax. I read it and you have to be an idiot to fall for it. For someone trying to discreet, they sure babble about the $11.5 million to everyone. My first thought was Nigerian scam. LMAO

hilarious! ...in a sick kind of way!  You have to be really dumb to fall for this one.  My favorite part is near the end.
"Write back soon buddy."  Whaaa hahahahaha...lmmao

This morning at work we received a faxed letter from someone named Willam Barnes claiming to be a US Marine.  He needs help getting $11.5 million found in Iraq out of Kuwait.  Asking for "1) your full name, 2) the address where you want the box to be delivered, 3) your private telephone number where you can be reached 24 hours."  He asked to be contacted only at his e-mail address:  william.barnes@infantrymarine.com.

Yeah, I truly hope and pray no one falls for this scam.  I agree, Rachel.  This is shameful and disgraceful.

I found this fax on our machine when I came into work today.  I can't believe that anyone would be dumb enough to fall for this.  I'm angry that they think they can use a ruse like this.  It is shameful and disgraceful and I have faith this person will suffer for his deeds.

In the meantime, I would like to send this to some authority.  Any ideas?

This just completely makes me angry!  I did call the Marines locally and forwarded a copy of this letter.  I doubt they can do very much about this since it is probably from some slimeball in Nigeria.  

I stand 100% behind our military and can guarantee this letter would NEVER be sent by our military personnel.  To dishonor our Marines in this way is just disgusting.

Just received "The Fax" at our office...are they serious? What nerds!

Our office just recieved this same fax.  It's funny- the time we recieved it was 10:23am Mtn Time and the fax time at the top states 9:23am and the area code for us to respond to is Tennessee which is not an hr behind us. so it appears this fax is coming from the West Coast/Pacific Time Zone.  What a bunch of idiots!

12:35 PM Thrusday 12/3/2009 - Just received the same fax you all are complainng about. MIne came thru eFax and says from phone # "00000". I'm a navy vet from a ship that carried marines, and I found it so repugnant i had to look for info on it. I just hope that no one gets caught up by this juvenile scam. Is there any place you can find out if people actually fall for this crap? Its surely from Nigeria, or some other country that routinely scams into the u.s. so we cant' touch em.
