Two guys claiming to be from MS came to my door with sob story about trying to clean up their lives and I bought a magazine and it was to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House for $152.00.  I started to be suspicious when I couldn't find the business on-line (Greater Image, Inc.) and did a search by the phone number given to call to cancel (901) 848-2590. This blog is all I found. I called the number this morning and got a VM.  I put a stop payment on my check. Hate it when you can't answer your door anymore!

This pnone number is supposidly the number for a company called Greater Images, Inc. of Memphis TN.  P.O. Box 240055.  They solicited magazines door to door through "approved" or "certified" personnel wearing a badge from the State of Virginia.

I supposedly bought a subscription to US News and World Report for $112.00 on           3?10/08.  Never got any of the subscritpions.  Does anyone know if this is a legitimate company out of TN?

Same story here.  The number 901-848-2590 now is "not reachable".  Anyone have any suggestions?  It's not so much my $40 and golf magazine subscription that I'm concerned about; it about being ripped off.

Just remembered I hadn't gotten magazines I ordered back in March. I'd ordered like this before (kid at the door trying to get ahead in life)and the magazines arrived no problem so I really didn't question. Never again! Is there any way to get our money back? Doesn't look like it. Live and learn.

I was taken for $144.00 on March 4, 2009 bya black guy who gave me a sob story.   As we were standing there, a neighbor of mine came to see him because she had "checked him out" with the police and wanted to order.   She has lots of money and lives in the biggest house in our (historic district)neighborhood.   I need to ask her how much she lost.   I had kind of forgotten about the event until I came across the "receipt" in my desk drawer and noticed that more than 90 days had passed.

Two black females came to my door in Jan of 09 with a sob story.  I spent 52.00 for mags for my grandaughter.  I feel like an idiot because I should have checked here first.  when I call the 901-619-9581 number the recording says they are not accepting calls right now.

Can't believe I've kept my "receipt" for almost a year... periodically calling that number, still no magazine, but I did leave my number today at 901-848-2590.  Forever the optimist!

Lol...yes, we felt sorry for these two that came around in our neighborhood. Explained to us about their own lives and how they were just trying to make it on their own. I was skeptical but we followed through. Never again....door to door sales is never a solid thing to trust, unless it's your pizza delivery person! LOL

on 9-8-08. I never do theses things and now I know why. I live in california. Had the story of recovering drug uses and them just trying to earn a living and helping others... So I hope I find theses people in and around my area again. only got took for $37.00 bucks but still... I will make sure to get it back.

I got scammed by a guy with a sob story too. I placed a stop payment on my check, but I guess I did it too late. I also mailed a cancellation request on my order. They still cashed my check. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and attorney general. I wish I had looked at these posts sooner.

door to door lady with horrible story of abuse, trying to get back on track through this Christian based organization called Second to None, selling subscriptions to earn her way up, etc.  Thanks for your posts!!!  I will be placing a stop on my check now.

They have changed their number, but not their story. Thanks to these posts, I was able to stop payment on my check! My guy was door to door and I am done answering for folks I don't recognize.

Looks like I got scammed too. Sharp dressed dude came to the door with a super tale of woe (just got out of jail, needed $ to go to university, etc.).  My magazines were supposedly donated to St. Judes Hospital in Memphis.  The number for Greater Image is not a working number.

It's the same story, I bought a subscription for my nieces which were never delivered. When they come back I'm going to have them arrested. I'm a former P.O. and I'll find the idividuals that are carring them around and have them arrested as well. I'm looking forward to helping out the frauds. Greater Image, Inc. Make my day

You write like you're in or from another country, or perhaps uneducated from America, either way, shame on you for continuing to attempt to get good-hearted people to succumb to your scam!  Gottch!

Funny, you ordered some mags from them and received them, but you're looking up their phone number on here ... WHY?

What about all of us who actually had money taken from us and never saw the magazines? I don't care if this is keeping drug dealers off the streets, because they are still taking money from people and are involved in a dishonest scam. This is not much better than selling drugs, you are STEALING MONEY FROM INNOCENT PEOPLE!  Wake up and get a real job. We don't want to hear your sad stories just so that you can guilt-trip us into giving you a check.

greater image inc is a greater orangnization we had some problms it an office person stealing money and not putting orders in known the crew for about five months and im happy with it we get payed like we;re suppose to and i've had people send them to my child back at home please help support this group if none other

wen i firsted joined never imagined traveling everywhere and seein some of the things that i seen but the45% of companies in the long run is a scam to you and us working because alot of us join the crew believing the same things we tell you at the doors once the money leaves our hands we have no dealing wit the orders anymore until we're payed do you think we wud or i wud aleast use my real name at someones door and i'm scamming them were i come from its really to good to be true but thats the part that blinds us never been no were and never dreamed to go no where. offer the young people a good job oppun. at your door some of us might leave to be wit you just because it sounds better than wat most of us have been doing!!!!all of you that gave you gave alots of us BLESSING and HOPES from the things we are use to thats y alot of us work so hard and for that God will make sure you get a BLESSING back you gave from the heart and thats wats count. i really don't wat wat to tell you guys but these companies are keeping alot of teens, ex-nuckleheads, gang bangers, drug sellers from doing those things and wen they find out wat the company really is it almost to late to give up some don't have anywhere to go back home too a number of things occur while you travel. thats why i say offer them a job or put $20 n their pockets cause we just out workin in something we believe n REALLY DON'T KNOW NO BETTER OR WAT TO DO ONCE I GO HOME CAN YOU HELP ME?????????????????

Yep, this just happened to me. I even called the number on the receipt to see if it was legit. Someone did answer and assured me it was real. Of course, this research is blowing that out the door. I'm calling the bank now to cancel that check!
