My gawd...if you only knew how stupid you sound! Yes...tha's what we all think credit cards are...gift cards! Yeah right. Have you ever had hard times? That's beside the point as all these calls are for people who don't even live at the number being called! What intelligent answer do you have for that?
Who are you or any of us to judge why someone we don't know hasn't paid a bill. Get a life. Seeings how you are the one who mentioned welfare, you must be on it with nothing to do all day except to answer peoples comments with ignorance.

you're lucky you got to talk to an actual person! Most people ARE polite if they can get to talk to someone but when you can't & you keep getting harrassing calls, people tend to get upset. So glad you got taken off the list!

Hey you dope! How can you be so stupid. Right away we all know you are one of the harassers who are constantly bugging people. YES it IS HARRASSMENT you idoit! When you call some unknown person with a stupid recorded message about someone else & the reciever of the call cannot talk to anyone....does that make good business sense to you? Find your facts out first. If you are truly calling to collect money make sure you have the correct person before anything else. When you find out the number has been changed or whatever, then stop calling! Does it make sense to keep calling the wrong household when you are wanting money from someone else? Do you think if you harass them enoough they'll pay you for someone they have never heard of? Seriously! What do you think??? Gawd this is making my blood boil! My parents who are in their 80's have recently gotten a cell phone (which we thought the numbers were non-public) & have been getting these harassing calls since the first week! They have A-1 credit & do not owe anyone anywhere a single cent! They are good decent & honest people who don't need this crap in their lives. We got them the cell phone for when they travel but they are so bombarded with these calls & calls like them that they don't even want to turn on the phone. So if anyone wants to get in touch with them while they're out, we can't. They shouldn't have to live that way because of idiots like you. You had my mother so upset one day because she truly thought she had to get hold of someone for some urgent business! STOP CALLING!!

These guys try to collect uncollectible dept. They have been calling from a different company for well over a year for dept that is 14 years old, far past the 7 years their allowed. Don't tell them any personal information. They can only collect this dept if you acknowledge the dept so just pretend you don't know what their talking about and don't confirm any information like you age and name. Their always rude and ignorant so be rude and ignorant back, tell them their wasting their time and they will hang up and bother you for a while.

Telemarketer
The call we got this morning from this number - 902-800-1023 falsely identified their company as BMO MasterCard.  She was speaking very quickly and after questioning her a few times, we could catch that she was saying Ibex BMO MasterCard and she was trying to sell us some home insurance, protection plan, etc.  We told her that we were not interested and she didn't harass us any further, but what annoys me is that they make it sound like they are calling about our credit card account, and the tactic of using a variety of numbers, even local numbers is also very deceptive.

Hey Mr. Debt collector, go kill yourself, I'd do it for you but you're not here. We hate you. ARC have been calling me for over 10 years. I never answer but when bored I do like to  call them over and over, hanging up each time on whoever answers.

I answered the call with hello.....moments later a female voice is saying she is away from the desk and I could leave a message!  Like HELLLLLOOOOO.....they called me!  Why would I leave them a message when I don't know who they are and they just dial my number but don't care to speak when I answer.......weird or what!  Plus annoying....too bad these people couldn't find something productive to do with their time, like clean cell walls in prison or something!  LOL

I called the number, got a male on the phone saying it was ARL Ink.  I asked why the 902-800-0013 number was calling my phone.  He verified my number and said "sorry mamme, I will take your number off the list right away."  I said thank you and have a great day.

Really, is there any need of all the bad mouthing?

Have a great day everyone and thank goodness there are sites that can help us with this type of issue.

Clearly, you're ignorant on the topic.
Someone, whom I do know, used my phone number as a contact number on several debts. I have been receiving calls for 3 years from numerous collections agencies. At first, I answered, explained that this person is not, nor has she ever, lived here and that I have not spoken with her in ages so would have no idea how to contact her. I, as well as the representative, were always friendly and co-operative. However, 3 years later, I am STILL receiving calls from the same numbers along with new ones as they continue to pass the debt around from agency to agency.
If you think for 5 seconds that simply explaining that the person cannot be reached at this number will prevent them from calling, you're sadly mistake. I'm sure many angry Canadians would agree.
Try not being so bitter, situations happen and the fact that you're so angry and hateful proves nothing more than what everyone is already saying, collections agents are scum who refuse to treat anyone on the other end of a conversation with a morsel of respect. You deserve all the crap you receive during your work day, if it weren't for years of you (and others like you) failing to understand business ethics, you'd have less to complain about.

Not everyone means not to pay back their loans. Sure there are some people out there that do, but that is not always the case.

Just to show who the IDIOT is, your the one replying to this. Does that mean you got a call from the too? As the only reason you would be here is to look up the phone number.

Get a set a brains and crawl back under the rock you came from.

You must work for the collections agencies. Get a real job, jerk!

Do YOU work for those parasites? Obviously you do. Honestly, why not try and earn a living doing something that might be productive for society? The banks, all of them, take into account that an unsecured (I repeat UNSECURED) debt may not be collected. Hence the 18% (or higher) interest rate.

People do run into problems (getting let go, an illness) or a host of other things that may mean that they cannot pay their credit card debt. Feeding your family and keeping the lights on takes precedence or paying a bank whose profits are already obscene.

So, why don't you grow a set yourself (scumbag) and do everyone a favour, and get a real job not working for Satan himself!

I keep getting this number calling me and, for the person ranting about paying your debts, I have no debts. Further, the name they are asking for isn't mine. I only have pay as you go and these anoying type of calls are extremely frustrating as they eat away my minutes.  I've tried to google these things but there appear to be a million sites that list similar comments. Obviously the phone spammers win as there is not an easy way to get rid of them

NOT HARASSMENT BY ANY MEANS,HARASSMENT IS WITHOUT JUST CAUSE..HERES SOME HINTS TO DEAL WITH DEBT COLLECTORS..PAY YOUR BILLS,TELL THE PERSON WHOM OWES TO STOP GIVING YOUR NUMBER OUT..WHEN WE CALL,TRY GROWING A SET AND TELL US ITS A WRONG NUMBER,THEN WE REMOVE IT,WE ACTUALLY DONT LIKE WAISTING OUR TIME CALLING THE WRONG#..BUT YOUR SOOO SMART,AND THINK YOUR SHOWING US BY JUST HANGING UP,YOU DONT TELL US ITS WRONG#,WE ARE CALLING BACK GARANTEED..AND DID YOU SERIOUSLY TYPE THAT? don't care who is responsible as long as the most possible people pay them   YOU CANT ACCEPT MONEY FROM SOMEONE WHO DOESNT OWE A DEBT AND WE KNOW THAT...MAYBE YOU SHOULD READ UP ON THINGS BEFORE YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEM..

902-800 numbers are all Magic Jack (VOIP) phones in NS and PEI. When the computer is off, then the phone can't be accessed so you will get a WAV voicemail if they choose to leave one (now there is a new MJ that can be used when the computer is off but they're just being released). Magic Jack in Canada is served by Iristel in Ontario. While a caller trace might show 'Halifax' that is just their route, not the location of the Magic Jack owner. I am nowhere near Halifax.

I know this because I have a Magic Jack. When I decided to look up my own number, the information given was inaccurate.

The area code tells you the region. When the '800' is given first, then it is a regular toll-free number.

yea, it's a collection agency.  They woudln't say who was calling, and they were rude.  Just tell them the person they are trying to reach doesn't live there anymore and to stop calling.
