They called me twice.

telling me that there is a law suit against me

Yesterday I received a call from a man calling himself John Barker...Had such a heavy accent it was hard for me to understand him, so I asked to speak with someone else. He transfered me to someone else who alsohad a heavy accent. This person had all my personal information and said I took out a internet payday loan and never paid it back. I asked for the name of the company and he would not give it to me, he just said a very large internet loan company. I then asked if I could speak to someone who spoke english because I was not understanding him. He got upset and said he was going to prosecute me to the fullest extent of the law and hung up. I have no idea how to report them or to whom as all I have a a Forida phone number.

I have been getting the same call from a guy named "Officer Allen Smith". He's got a very heavy accent. He won't even tell me where he's calling from. He told my work that I'm a fugitive and I did abide by Florida's banking laws. He keeps calling me and I asked where he's calling from he wouldn't tell me. He got upset with me and hung up one time and said that if I didn't call him back right away, he'd have someone come and arrest me. I'm a single mom and I'm freaking out. I haven't gotten anything in the mail that I owe this debt. Every collections department sends something and doesn't threaten these types of things. Legally, they can't. I asked for his badge number and he said he wasn't an actual officer. I've called my city police officer and they said to make a report. Should I be scared about this? How frustrating!

I got the same kind of call today 5/24/10. He was calling about a friend who he kept calling a he and she is a she lol! Heavy accent said his name was Jeffery Boyd. I couldn't understand a damn thing this man was saying! He said that he was with some Legal Department and he was an officer I told him he was full of s***. He told me to give the message to my friend I told him not to call my phone back with his crap again!

My name is Mark  I got a phone message at work to call this officer, I called and he threaten leagal action agasinst me........ I would suggest that everyone call and report these scabs as iI am doing tonight. These guys are using information gathered on the internet to get money from you

Same guy (MR BARKER) I filed complaint with atty General office, he had my work number
and is playing with fire, I am associated with Law Enforcement and am going to find out
who this is... be aware of his dumb a** questions... and call atty gen office immediately and
report this number... I can trace call.

got the same type of phone calls - he told me he was calling from Florida courthouse - I told him to get me someone that speaks english well, he put me on hold and put another man on the phone with the same type of heavy accent. I told him to call me back when he can get someone who speaks english clearly - I said I found it hard to believe that no one in the Florida courthouse could speak english clearly and I hung up. It is a SCAM!!!!!!

Again, same idiot calling, but now from 975-190-7753. He was asking for a "David Baker." I told him he had the wrong number. After a long pause, he asked "Who are you?" LOL

I asked him "who are YOU?" He launched into the script about working for some made up name company. Regretfully, I had pressing things to do at work, so I told him to stop scamming people and never call again, and hung up.

Got two calls from this number yesterday afternoon (May 5). The first one didn't leave a message, but the second one (immediately after the first) left a voice mail. Sounds like the person described by Heather. Heavy foreign accent. Sounds Indian (from India) or Pakistani to me. Anyhow, he said he was John Thomas or some similarly generic American name; stated that legal action will be taken against me unless I call;that if I don't call I should get a lawyer, blah, blah.

He called again this morning right at 9 am but didn't leave a message.

It's obviously and without any doubt a scam. It'd be funny if it wasn't so annoying.

My calls are from a guy named "John Barker". He has a heavy accent that I think sounds middle eastern. I don't know any middle eastern people with american names. Doesn't really matter. The number comes up to a cell phone in Florida. This is the second time this has happened to me. Last month it was a different company. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFO!!!!!! All the law suits that they are referring to are BOGUS!!!! Demand that you want documentation and Tell them that you have already called the police and reported them to the Federal Trade Commission! Last month I had to change all my account numbers and flag all 3 credit agencies. This is a NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! I am sorry if anyone else has to deal with these losers!

I am getting the same thing except they are calling me at work and they are threatening me.

this guy "Alan Smith" claims to be from a lawyers office... he demands i pay a debt i don't owe and keeps calling my office over and over.
