Wow these people are too much.  I was just visited by a neighbor I've never met saying a woman named "Ashley Davis" called her saying she is currently working on a deal with me and has some paper work for me but lost my number.  Said she tracked her down through the white pages because she has my address and knows we're neighbors.  Well if she has my address and we're supposedly working on some deal why can't she send me written documentation????

She says the lady wouldn't leave a company name but the phone number was 904-418-5000.  Smelled like a scam so I googled it and found this thread.

I got a call from 1-904-418-5000 ext. 154 or 145.... his name Mike Bowers. He left a message that sounded like he wanted to help my brother and know his legal rights. Before I called I did a google number search and found out it was a collecter. The collecter also knew my name. So, called back and asked how he got my name and number, he fumble a second and said" they put it on there", So I asked " who are they", He replied " your brother", so the smartbutt I am I said" they is more than 1, my brother would be correctly pronounced him." I told him" my brother will call you monday ", he said " that might be too late". Then, I proceeded to tell him not call my phone again, he replied" OR WHAT OR WHAT", so I told him call and find out and to flip off < used the other word>. So, the number popped up again... so I am going to call back requesting a supervisor, and that my number removed from the list.

Remember debt collectors can not call your job that is against the law..... you and your boss need to file a complaint with the District Attorneys office.

Just wanted to let you know that it is not considered a "bad check" but a loan. These people scared me into paying them too, which I did. Do not pay them! Tell them you know what company they are and you are taping them. I would really get a tape recorder and catch them on tape and then sue them for violating the consumer protection laws.

I have a question.  I do owe Ace Cash Express $768.  I tried working a payment plan out with them and when I told the lady I had $50.00 in my purse at that exact moment she rudely told me that was not her problem and hung up on me.  Now were with this company.  He stated that I had a hot check for over $500.00 and that it was a criminal in Texas.  Below is what I found for Texas law on checks over $500.00.  But I did not physically write them a check, it was a debit from my bank account, which I did close.  Am I in legal trouble now?  I was talking to a bankruptcy attorney at the time that told me to close it before it got out of control with fees but I did not actually file bankruptcy.

I have been getting calls from the same #, 904-418-5000.  They have left me and my boss messages about a pending case that I MUST take care of today or face legal trouble and wish me good luck.  When talking with them today he threatened legal action against me if I didn't take care of this by end of day today at my home or work.  I told him to do what he needed to do, then got nervous.  After researching and finding this information I feel much better.  I have contacted the FTCC website and the Florida AG.  Thank you so much for supplying this information.

Arelene Marshall called me as well and advised me I was going to jail- I got scared because I have three boys to take care of- I sent 200.00 through a money gram and didnt think anything of it- she calls me this month giving me totally different information to send my money to... and then my common sense finally kicked it in... She was from Lawson and Marshall now she is calling me from NCP? She said they moved to the corporate office. Whem I called the number I had for her last month the number was wrong. She threatend jail time but was very helpful she got super defensive when I started asking questions such as : where is my reciept in writing stating I paid, where is a letter confirming my payment arrangements, what is her address she REFUSED any of that inforamtion. SHe didnt even have a PO BOX they stated it was for security purposes. I called an attorney and they said not to send these people anymore money because this is fraud- I feel so stupid that I didnt look into this sooner and got so scared I sent money to them when I couldve paid another bill... I was soppose to be arrested today however Im still here-Please dont send thse people money- they are changing their names and numbers and their money gram info so that we cant trace anything back to them... this is fraud

I received a call from Joseph Alexander, he first represented himself from the county I live in and being part of the investigation team.  He stated he had a signed warrant for a felony arrest and that I would be placed in jail for a minumum of 30 days without bond.  He then stated that if I was to pay the 291 before 4pm the next day he could stop the warrant.  When I asked for the name of the judge that signed the warrant he couldn't tell me, he then recanted his statement and said the warrant would be signed on the next day.  I do owe the debt, but he did not represent himself as a debt collector.  Due to my ties with the court system in my county and the fact that my attorney is also one of my best friends I had no problem calling them back and filing the complaints against them.  The gentleman I spoke with said that Joseph was a 1099 employee and would be let go immediately.  However he did agree to settle for half the debt, which I will pay.  I do not agree with their tactics and there will be further legal action against them from my end.  I have delt with many debt collectors and this is the first time I have been threatened by anyone.  This company needs to be shut down and I encourage everyone that receives a call from them to tape the call and pursue legal action as well as filing the appropriate complaints.

my mom recieved a call today from that Sharon Lopez/Jackson. Told her that she owed money from an old bank account...and she had to have so much money to them today, by western union by 12:15 or a warrant would be issued for her arrest.  She called the Bank she was supposed to have owed the money to, in which there is a deliquent account, but they charged it off years ago. The bank googled her name and found all these responses. So they told her to file a report. If anyone has any more information about Thomas Lee and associates, please let me know, i am not finding anything on them. They called me a month or so back, claiming they have a video tape of me recieving money from a payday lender.  She kinda chuckled and said that she knows i didn't steal the money, but if i don't pay 280.00 within the hour she was going to go downtown and put a warrant out for my arrest.  Well i called the DA's office, the State banking commission who governs the laws of check cashing companies, and even the Federal Trade Commission.  Not to mention my local law enforcement and courts.  What happened is the lender i wrote the check out to sold this account to these people, Thomas lee and associates.  Well they've been harrassing me and harrassing me about the payment, threatening to put me in jail each time.  They are not willing to work with you at all on payments, unless you make the whole thing by Paypal, or Money gram.  WTF...who ever heard of a collection agency demanding money up front like that.  They never called me back either.  I know the debt is owed and I don't mind paying the debt back.  Oh and on a lighter note,  the check cashing company i got the payday loan through sales Pirated DVD's.

I got the same call from an Andrew Burke at a 904-418-5000 number, and he told me in no uncertain terms that he was a legal representative of a check cashing place, and that since I closed out the account that the check was written off of it was a class one felony, and that tomorrow at 9 am he was calling the local authorities to take care of the matter at either my home or work. Of course he didn't specify how it was to be taken care of, and when I pressed the issue he kept evading the question, even telling me that this was the first time i'd done this, i don't have any priors and that i'd better be getting money from friends or relatives, and that I couldn't go into the place of business where the transaction occured to take care of this. He first called my parents, who alerted me to this situation. If you were so smart, and you were going to alert the local authorities, then how come you didn't find out my number, or my current address????? I called back the next day (got a voice mail, big surprise)..and the voice mail wasn't even the same guy who called me, and informed him that what he did was illegal, and that if it happened again, i'd be informing the Florida District Attorney, my attorney here in Ohio and pressing criminal charges against him for violating the Fair Debtors Act. They are the total scum of the earth, and one day i'd love to be there to see what is coming to him.
