Got a call. Knew it was a collections agency because they never want to give their company name outright. Don't think they realize that I can google their phone number and get their company website. Caller id must be their worst enemy.

Also, I think ms. Owens found this forum and she types like an illiterate teenager.

I have them on my call reject list ... I tested last night by blocking my husband's number and even tho I've placed em on call reject ... it still let's them hear my songs and sends em to my voice mail.  I wish it would my phone would say "you're blocked,  stop calling this number" lol.

I have a ton of calls that are rejected and keeps a list.

I'm a breast cancer survivor and am tired of all these calls from collections. Couldn't afford to pay hospital ... it's you're fault (collections people)you bought that debt... Lol

I had one girl years ago call and I told her "it's not like I went out and bought an item and didn't pay for it. She said, you were provided a service ma'am and I replied ... I didn't ask for cancer, could have rejected services provided and just died (at 27) .... I told her she should find a different debt collector to work for"

These people just don't care. I feel sorry for individuals who don't know their rights because these people will say anything to get you to pay. I mean I've even provided proof to why my account balance was incorrect, I disputed with all three credit bureaus, and they still insist I owe them money. Even with the proof! These people are not here to help you. Someone even lied and said I agreed to pay the settlement. Umm... NO! Try and get as much information as you can when talking to someone from PDM and document EVERYTHING if you have to talk to them, but otherwise you are wasting your time. Get a lawyer.

www.ftc.gov.  just go to that website report them. Ask them for a later the debt they owe you they are required by law to send that to you can I call you within 30 days upon them sending a letter. If they do not send your letter that is breaking the law if they sent you if they call your work after you tell them not to that also is breaking. Just go to the website and report

There is such ignorance going on here and also intelligence...First of all this company DOES NOT CARE about you or anyone else, all they care about is collecting money regardless if you're on the street.  As long as you tell them to stop harassing you and to discontinue calling you, they have to comply.  The laws are extremely strict when it comes to collection agencies, read up on them.  Never sign for something from your postal carrier that you don't know where it's coming from, it just might be them sending you a certified letter, of which you do not want to sign.  If you're signing for something you should know if you're expecting this.  Never answer your phone if you do not know who's calling you.  If it's someone you know, they will leave a message.  There are many many tricks, they try to act like a friend when calling, don't fall for this!  Skip tracing is another to be aware of, they'll call neighbors, old employers and so on.  Post office boxes are cheap, get one and have all mail sent to it, especially if you rent/lease and move around. I know I'll anger those that are the scum bags who are trying to get blood out of stone, just know I'm laughing at you, and am always two steps ahead...

With the comment you just made everyone has a right to be concerned about your poor professionalism. You all are nothing more than Telemarketers who will soon be in the unemployment line or in jail for threatening people. If a company  feels someone owes them money the only thing they can do is take them to small claims court. If they do not do that then it more then likely means that they had no authority to give loans in the first place.   P.S. Sucks to be you now doesn't

this number keeps calling my cell phone and the caller gets obnoxious and threatening. I've told them repeatedly to stop calling and he just continues.I don't have blocking on my phone so I just entered the number as DO NOT ANSWER and a specific ringtone corresponding to my opinion of them.

These a** holes have been calling since the last 6 months and leaving rude messages. How do we stop these idiots from calling? What is the use of placing your phone on a Do not call list?
Something is wrong with the system. This needs to stop ASAP.

Well...I've also had to work with this company.  I took a payday loan and was able to make the payments.  I went to work one day and the office doors were locked and never received my last check.  Well without a job or paycheck until unemployment kicks in is a little wait.  Well my Payday loan went default and all hell broke loose.  PDM contacted me about my loan.  I have to honestly say that I luckily got a great guy to deal with.  My bill was 1700 dollars.  I owed it and I knew I had to pay it.  We worked out a solution of $100 bucks a month and I'll tell you...it was a LONG 17 months!!!  BUT!!  I got it paid!!  I've talked to lots of people at PDM and all have been very nice and polite.  I guess the realization is...if you know you created a debt for yourself, you have to come clean and realize it will not go away.  Once I made the arrangements...the calls stopped coming in and I was a very happy to get my pay off letter once it was finished.

Part one, if the debt was incurred in the state you live, then they have to follow the laws of your state as far as debt collection (even if they are in Florida).  Part 2, if they are threatening legal action, get the name of their Attorney (highest odds are they are not a member of the bar of your state, thus they could not bring suit against you in your state).  You can verify the bar memberships online.  You can also check the state they are in to see if they are a member of the bar (they may or may not be).  99% of the time they will not secure the services of an attorney in your state to actually file a civil action because it costs money and cuts their bottom line.  Just so you know, when they "buy" a debt, that is if they even if they take the time to legally buy it, they will pay penny's on dollar if that.  Buy a $1000 debt for a dollar (and if they can collect even half, that's a $499 profit).

When they call, first ask them if they are a member of the court, then ask them if they are a law enforcement officer, then ask them if they are an attorney, and then ask them for the full complete name of the company (and don't take abbreviations, you want the complete name from for a Corporate lookup with their State Corporation Commission, which will give a wealth of knowledge) and their full physical address.  Almost all states require their collections agencies to be licensed.  Also see if they are licensed to do business in you state (if they are calling you about a debt in your state, they have to be licensed to do business in your state....state regulatory commissions get upset if somebody is doing business in their state without paying all the proper fees and licenses, so report them).  By law they are required to provide these answers.

If they refuse, just tell them with all the scams out there, you are not going to talk further or give any information to anyone without the full company name, physical address, call back number other than a 1800, etc.  And do NOT acknowledge anything concerning the debt. At this point you don't know if it is a legitimate debt or not.  If they do give the information, tell them you want a call back number to them, and you will call back after your have checked them out to validate their authenticity.

The so called collectors at Professional Debt Mediation are the most unprofessional group of lowlife morons in the World.  Talked to an attorney they totally break not bend the FDCPA collection laws and have a solid F with  the BBB.  Do NOT pay them.  Do not bother asking for management that fish stinks from the head down. The bigger the manager the bigger the moron. Tony Soprano wannabees and Tony (Mr. G) is dead and so is their professionalism.  Their threats are idle.  Laugh at them and tell them to go to Hell and seek an attorney.  They are so illegal.
