Grrr! I have had three responses to my CL add... all of which seem to be these scammers! Makes me so mad. I thank you all for posting about these folks. The other number I was scammed from is 513-239-7358 and the email was marya8009@gmail.com. I hope they get caught!

I just got a message from this number too. Seemed very fishy asking about "items is still available for sales".  What do I do?

I got a message from this number looking to buy something I had for sale on Craigs List.  My thought before checking this number out was that, "Why don't you just call the number and leave a message or talk to me"  Had one the other day from another one that wanted to do the certified check thing for more money then I was asking and then adding money to it for someone who would pick it up.  A sure sign it is a scam is when they do not even want to come and look at the item, and is going to send money up front sight unseen.  A lot of these scammers out there checking Craigslist ads.  Be careful everyone.

Received exactly the ssame set of 3 texts responding to an ad on Craig's list. The fact that he is not negotiating told me it's a scam. This forum confirmed it as well.

Same thing happened to me from this number. had an ad on craigslist. Watchout

First, this guy called me about 6 in the evening on the number I posted in my Craigslist ad. Strong hispanic accent, very difficult to understand, very broken English. Then he texted me at 2am the next morning, a string of three text messages: "(1/3)I'm satisfied with the condition of the item for instant purchase, am a very busy man i am sure you understand. I will also like you to" then "(2/3)know that i will be paying via company certified check,and it will be sent via courier service due to the distance .I will take care of" then " (3/3)the items shipment myself,text me the requirement to issue check out for you. 1. Full Name on the check 2. Address (no P.O Box) 3. City" Funny punctuation is the way it was received at my phone. Each of the 3 text messages was followed by "4:06AM Fri, Aug 24 From: +19044388786"

NC I got a text about Craigslist from a number from Florida same as everyone else is claiming. Guess I wont be selling anything today.

I just got a txt from this person, it is a fake check scam. I know from experince because this is not the first time someone has tried this on me.

Also in response to a Craigslist ad.  Uses "Nigerian" scam English.  Claims to be a "very busy man" and is interested in a high-priced item for "immediate purchase."

Exactly the same here.  BIG RED FLAGS: He would not accept a P.O. Box number even though the item for sale was not at my house.  He would not give me his name or the name of the company the "certified" check he was paying with would be coming from, nor would he call me, all communication was in text form. I don't know what exactly his scam is, but I am sure it's a scam!  B E W A R E !

In response to a Craigslist ad, we just got a text from this number wanting our information to send a check to.

This person is trying to steal my identity from an ad on craigslist.  Arrest him please.
