After checking this number on google I am not going to talk to this person.  Sounded foreign. Apparently it is a scam.

They did leave a message for me.  Turns out to be Fidelity Investments.  I do have an account with them so not necessarily unwanted, but I don't pick up on numbers I don't recognize.  "Call Type" would be a service call I guess.

I got a call from this phone number.  It was a woman who said they were from Fidelity.  They called to verify a transfer I made from my Fidelity account to my bank account.  They said they needed my accountkey because the transfer did not go through.  Even got my bank on the line.  The woman on the line gave them an account number which I had never heard of.  Then when I hung up I checked my account and the transfer had been deposited the previous day.  This is an obvious hoax / scam.  They mentioned my transfer going through Computershare.  I am going to report to someone.

Call from Fidelity Investments.  They were inquiring about the service that I was getting from their local representatives. This call seemed like a legit customer service inquiry.

Fidelity marketing person. Keeps calling home and cell repeatedly because I don't pick up - annoying.  Leaves messages about wanting to talk about my account to make sure I'm getting the most value from it.

The number called my cell but I missed the call.  I googled the number and after reading all of the posts on this site, I think it is a scam.  Neither my husband nor I have any accounts with Fidelity plus we have not opened any account with anyone else lately either.  I'd be very leery of this caller!

I received a phone call and message from Fidelity this afternoon, to call them back (31Jan2012). It might be related to their need to send out an updated/corrected 1099 tax form. The forms wouldn't be ready, until the end of February, so don't submit your tax returns until then. The last time I received a call from Fidelity, they were trying to sell me some worthless service.

If you call back the 1-800 Fidelity number and give the rep your information they will always verify the last person that you spoke with and their location and position with the company. They do not outsource this task and every person calling you is In the office and every call is recorded. The reps are only trying to help...

I've received multiple voice messages from this number from a Megan Jorgensen (?) saying she was with Fidelity and leaving 800-408-4015 x7783  as a call-back number. I was somewhat suspicious already, so thanks for letting me know it's a third-party marketing company and that they ask for your SSN (which I wouldn't give out)...

This is a 3rd party contracted by Fidelity to do outbound customer service calls. They ask about your new account and try to sell other fidelity products. If you accept you will be transferred to a real fidelity investment rep. The 3rd party does not have full access to your investment account or personal info. They do notate your account for service and tracking purposes.

My company does the same thing because it's less expensive than paying full time licensed brokers to make "how are you and what else can we do for you" calls all day.

It is not a prank, scam, phising, or other bad call. It is perfecty legal business. If fidelity were smart they would just make the caller ID read 800-fidelity to stop this type of confusion.

Shawn Moneypenny from Fidelity left voicemail and 800 number to call back to discuss their Premium Services. Probably wants to talk me into signing up for managed services where they can charge me additional fees and get their hands on more of my money. Not interested; won't call back.

I have gotten a call from this number at the beginning of the month for the last few months after I opened up a couple brokerage accounts with Fidelity. They ask if Joy Mann is there and they are calling about an IRA acct to be set up. The first time I answered I told them that I had already set up an account with Fidelity and they must have the wrong number and to please change it in their system as that was not the right number for Joy Mann.

Well now they have tried to call me 2 more times and I have the following questions:
- How do these people know I have an account with Fidelity?
- If they are with Fidelity how the hell are they able to access any info on Fidelity's systems
to make these calls and why are they using this number?
- If they are with Fidelity is their phone activity being tracked?
Here are my conclusions:
- There are some rogue brokers/investment advisers working at Fidelity
who have access to Fidelity's systems and are feeding/selling customer info
to other people who then do the fishing. I don't doubt this because Fidelity has a ton
of customer service people working for them and there are bound to be a few bad apples.
- If somehow the above is true and Fidelity can not detect this, then they have some BIG
security issues and lack of internal controls (which I do not doubt) and more investigation are
needed by them or someone is going to report them to FINRA or the SEC!
