This is the ONLY place where I've seen ANYONE say that this number is affiliated with Wachovia.

Everywhere else said that this is NOT affiliated with Wachovia and not to answer the phone. They also recommended letting Wachovia know about this and they will help.

I would also like to confirm that this is a Wachovia affiliated number.  I JUST received their phone call, thus, can confirm the first post's validity.

I have recieved a call from this number enquiring asking my indentity.

In the past few days my identity has been stolen, and i am worried that someone is trying to open accounts at your bank account.

904-489-8017 is actually wachovia.  

It is a survery they do to see how well their customer service is doing.  I was getting a call from them numerous times per day and i finally blocked my number and called back.  It explains that it is a survey they do ever 6 months or so.  I soon called wachovia right after and asked if this number was valid, and they said it was.  I asked them to put me on their no call list and I am waiting to see if they contact me again.  But as I said before this number is 100% affiliated with wachovia.  If you do have any doubts with any number ever.  Be sure to call back but block your number with *67.  If it mentions a business in the recording, if there is a recording, simply hang up and call the company direct.  Just that easy.  hope this helps out

Just called Wachovia and asked to be taken off the solicitation list.  They did it -- but said it could take one billing cycle for all the calls to stop.

I just got a call from this number when I was sitting at my desk at work.  My phone was on silent, so I missed the call and no message was left.  After reading all of this I will not be answering if they call back.

I'm getting at least one call a day from this number.  I have not answered them and after reading this WON'T answer them.

It is Wachovia.

Just called me in North Carolina.  Have gotten calls from this number about 7 or 8 times in the past couple weeks.

Just wanted to post to let anyone interested know they are still calling people.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.

Saw the number call earlier today....about 9AM or so. They called again at 2:44 PM and I decided to answer(since my internet was down and I couldn't check the number out thru you!) She said she was from Wachovia and asked for my husband. Told her he was not available and she said that there was no problem with "his" account,but wanted to know when a good time to reach him would be. Told her between 10AM and 1PM since he works 2nd shift.
I swear their Christmas party must already be started because she was laughing for no reason and there was laughter in the background! Guess we know where their bailout money went to!!!!

I just got a call.. then I called Wachovia and the seem to think it a problem I have, not there problem. I was fruaded against they wipe my acct clean and Wachovia did nothing for me at all.  I was without money for a month and again called them to warn them about these poeple and they just don't care...they have to rob us blind then they will give you access to your money in a month. They have to investigate me thier customer....hum Think it's time to change banks.

Just got a call 10 minutes ago. Didn't hear it ring but I looked up the number because I didn't recognize the area code and found this site... interesting. My cell phone is supposed to be on the federal 'do not call' list too.

I've recieved 7 calls from this number in the past month. I have never answered and the caller has not left a message. I called Wachovia and they have updated the privacy settings on my account and said I "shouldn't keep getting these calls." Based on the info on this site it is not Wachovia and I'll probably keep getting them.  Should I report this to someone besides Wachovia?

father got call from Wachovia.  No one said anything.  He wasn't interested in picking up.  The call is coming from Jacksonville, FLA.

I got a call from this number today. Has been calling the house and decided to answer!! She said she was a representative of Wachovia and was offering a promotion. She knew SS#!!!!! Not sure how ligit yet, finding out now...as soon as i find out i will post again!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you ever hear what happened in this case because my house just started getting these calls and my parents and i both have accounts with wachovia.  We have never answered the calls so we don't know which one of us they are phishing on.  Thanks.

Why is Florida calling PA? If you have caller ID just don't answer! If they don't leave a message I guess I was unimportant to them. And I was lucky not to get scammed! Do not answer when these idiots call - don't give them any credit, don't let them know they have reached a 'real' mumber they will just sell it or give it to another scam company. If I need help with my credit I will go to my bank I don't need any strange phone solicitation company to 'help' me. Just don't answer 'Unknown' or 'Unavailable' numbers.

The number that called today was 904-489-8017, last week it was 904-448-8017. Keep a log, and see just how similar these numbers are! They get by the DNC lists. Do you think that they will respect you if you ask them to remove your number? Some of these folks will cuss you out, treaten and hang up on you. Just don't answer.

I don't think even reporting them helps much. But sites like this one and sharing information may just help someone else not get scammed.

I do not see why any local bank would be calling from Florida! This number today was 904-489-8017 was very similar to a number last week 904-448-8017. I keep a log. With caller ID, I just don't answer any numbers I don't recognize, that are listed as 'Unknown' or 'Unavailable'. I do not have any accounts with Wachovia. If you can: Just DON'T ANSWER THESE CALLS! Beware of phone scams.

Usually you will get calls and solicitations from your bank, any bank they work with, unless you spacifically say no on the form they send out once a year with your bank statement. Personally I think they shouldn't share your information unless you give them permission in the first place. I shouldn't have to remind them every year that I don't want to recieve other offers from them or their affiliates.

I live in Florida and get alot of calls from this number. They never leave a message. Glad I found this board. I will answer the next time and tell them to remove me from the list. If they dont, I will have a lawyer make the next call.

Called my wife, said out credit card is not protected from overdraft. She knows last four digits from the credit card.

They called me today and I was still sleeping it was a few minutes to noon though. They never leave a msg and I rarely answer the phone if I don't notice anything about the number. Next time I stop by wachovia, if the calls persist, I'll ask them about it.
