jim 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
I get this call at least once a week for the past month. They never leave a message.
Eileen 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
They are calling several times during the day & night.
It is very annoying, they never leave a message.

A reputable Christian charity with an emphasis on feeding Haitians. I've donated previous to recieving the call.
ChloeA 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
Same as comment above from 10/21/09. I don't appreciate being solicited by phone, however.
Lisa 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
This call has been coming in numerous times a day...I finally called it and got a voice mail saying that it was this fund raiser. They also give you the opportunity to be put on a "Do Not Call List", which I did.
collectors suck 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
I think it is a bill collector using a former number of a Charity.
Alpha 2009-12-24 03:03:26 Telemarketer
We, too, have gotten countless calls from this number. We have answered them on multiple occasions, telling them to stop calling us... and we still get calls from them. They never leave voice mail, which is suspicious behavior for a "legitimate" business. One time when we answered, the woman on the phone only something like "sorry, I'll call back later"...
We're reporting them to the Do Not Call Registry. Enough is enough. If they really are working on behalf of charities, they're doing a terrible job at it. I feel sorry for any charity that did sign up for this scum.

They call me everyday at 11pm!!! What a nerve!

I contributed to Food for the Poor a couple years ago after one of their representatives made a persuasive presentation at my church. Boy, am I sorry now. I just sent FFOP an email and suggested while they tote up the profits from phone solicitation, they factor in the losses from disgruntled former contributors who will never give them another dime.I'll warn all my little church lady friends, too. :)
Bj 2009-11-12 04:14:43 Unknown
The calls come in when I'm not home, but that party never leaves a message on my answering machine. Many times during the early hours of the morning. The latest was this lady name Jessica of who I spoke to and she wanted me to contribute to Food for the Poor. I told her to send me some info on it because I never give my card number over the phone. She insisted on the card number. And when I was about to hang up, she then asked for my social security number. That's when I hung up the phone, & called the police & the phone company to report the phone call.
Dutchmanve 2009-10-22 21:26:37 Unknown
Called at 5:18pm. Answering machine picked up (I screen unknown phone number calls) and my message played. At the end of my message, the call terminated from the caller end.

Thank you!!!!

"Legit say you".. HA!
Do you think it's LEGIT for them to ask you who had the last birthday in your household? HA.. I THINK NOT.
As far as calling a number to take your number off a list.. GET REAL.. You may be put on YET another unwanted call list.. All we had to do was finally answer this annoyance and advise them to stop.. IT STOPPED.
I'm also convinced it was a Plus factor contacting the Federal Trade Commission to stop this ANNOYANCE..
Going to buy a whistle for further annoyance calls.. Thanks for the tip. Love it.. LOL
gs, indiana 2009-10-01 16:28:07 Unknown
calls everyday!
nova 2009-09-30 18:30:40 Unknown
Report them to the Federal Trade Commission.. This is a Hoax.
Computer generated calls for the purpose of survey or to obtain personal information of any kind is ILLEGAL.. We have been getting phone calls from this number all times of the day and night for over a month.. No message left on the machine. When answered they ask for personal information and claim to be taking a survey. DON'T FALL FOR ANY OF IT PEOPLE.

Typical boiler room operation who may give a few cents on the dollar to actual charities, maybe, if they're in a generous mood. Nice idea, set up a web site to harvest phone number confirmations LOL.
I think I'll just stick with blowing a whistle in their ear. If they don't get the message the first time, repeat.

This is a legit company. Here is the form to go on their no-call list:

I've been receiving two calls per day, one before noon and one around 6:30 in the evening, for several months. No one is on the line when I pick up, and no one leaves a message. Thanks to the person who posted the DNC link, I'm having my number removed from their list.
Mary 2009-09-15 03:12:21 Unknown
I am receiving calls from this number twice a day every three days. I haven't answered yet, but the caller never leaves a message.
jr 2009-09-01 11:05:45 Non-profit Organization
this was a charitable solicitation for food for the poor. I am positive however that the caller was not from the charity itself. they represent lots of charities as I have seen this number before
dolfan4life 2009-08-07 20:43:53 Unknown
3 calls received in two days

I have been receiving calls on my office line from this number all week, they leave no messages, so I called them back. This is a call from Strategic Fundraiser and if you call back and listen to the prompt, press zero and have your phone number removed from their list.
Laura 2009-07-30 19:57:10 Unknown
went to the strategicfundraising.com site listed above (misspelled above)and you can remove your number from all future calls

That is because when Legit Charitable organizations hire a 3rd party, you can only stop the calls one Charity at a time. You have to tell them to put you on their do not call list with each different Charity.
from donotcall.gov
Third Party Callers on behalf of Charities
However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.
NEVER EVER DONATE VIA A THIRD PARTY TELEMARKETER! They keep 85%-90% of all donations recieved. You also do not know if they are legitimate or not.
Call the charity directly and ask if they know about this campaign. Make donations directly the charity directly and tell them to stop using 3rd parties to do the phone campaigns. ITS A WASTE OF MONEY

Have received several calls from this number and they never leave a message on my machine. I researched on line and the call is coming from Jacksonville, Florida and it is a Verizon carrier. But that is all I could find out. It is very annonying.

Call the number back and listen to the message. They call for charities and political organizations. ... 904-562-6656.
They stated in their recorded message you can remove your number.
Good luck.

This has suddenly gotten interesting. This number has been calling me on Saturdays for the past few weeks. I answered this time and dead silence. I *67 called back again and there is now a message for "Strategic Fundraising", which claims to provide telemarketing services for non-profit organizations. They gave this URL: www.strategicfunraising.com.
I hit 0 and there is now an option to remove your number for the "active campaign". No instructions were given on how to remove my number for ANY AND ALL campaigns.
