Got the same message yesterday too.
Since I am away on business I thought it might be true, and I was going to call Mastercard's number on the back of the card.
However decided to run the number on line to see if it was a "scam"
Glad I did

When in doubt, call the numbers on the back of your cards! If these emails turn out to be frauds, then you should file reports with the internet crime division:
http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
Also check your credit reports for any fraudulent activity..
credit reports: Experian, Equifax, TransUnion

I called from a pay phone and the phone number just beeps which is interesting. It would be a scam of course, but if they want information, you would think the number would work. Mind you I guess if you clicked the number in your text message, then that may give them some information. So don't click. Matercard is annoying me. There is some sort of problem, because monthly when I pay my bill, I get some sort of message like this, and this seems like too much coincidence to me.

Got 2 text messages today. Both from similarly cryptic garbage sender.
When you call back there is recorded message saying that this is Anne from Mastercard, and your "Debit Card" has been "locked" and asking you to please enter your card number. When you enter some non-existent number, a male recorded voice will respond that it is not a valid number.
(I used an app., not my own number !!)
Obvious point to note is that the debit card is issued by a Bank and not by Mastercard. Plus the sender address is such an obvious give-away.
That is such a sweet scam to catch gullible people !!
