The latest number used is 1-706-805-1775, and said "Cardmember Services" on the Caller ID. That was the second call in a day, about the 12th in a week, each number and the name is different, recorded hype message is the same, each time promises that it is the last chance. The POS sitting at the other end when I picked up is arrogant and asked me if I would promise that I would report them to the FBI if they harassed me again.

I have been receiving calls from these 'card services' telemarketers for over a year now. I have been blocking each number they have called with (over 35 at this point). And I have been filing complaints with the FTC Do Not Call Registry and the FCC complaint site, to no avail. I do suggest you all do the same, and do not talk to them or call them back.

But to really get some attention, I created a petition on the White House We The People site. Please go there and sign it, we have to get the word out any way we can:

These bas#ards call either at 2 in the afternoon or at the dinner hour in the evening.  About 1/2 the time nobody on the line, the rest recorded message to "lower your interest rate".
These people need to be put in jail.

I received a call from 904-768-9653 this morning about 9:00am mst. It came in on my cell phone. I only give out this number to friends. This isn't the first time they've called my cell. About 5-6 months ago I started getting calls from the same people, "Credit Services", but the incoming calls were from a different number. I suspect they change numbers frequently. They also call my home number with the same pattern: several times a day for 2-3 weeks, then a 4-6 week rest, then the calls start again from a different number. I think it started about 4 years ago. Of course I'm on the do not call list (both cell and landline phones) but it doesn't seem to matter. I usually answer tthe calls at least once but they always hang up on me when I ask them to stop calling.

Sadly, they must have some kind of success with their scam or they wouldn't keep doing it. It costs money to set up a call center with several employees. On the few times I've answered I always hear several conversations/sales pitches in the background. Unfortunately the people who usually fall for this garbage are the ones it will hurt the most.

So for all the people who post on this board, "please make them stop", you need to know this is a consumer information board set up to share info, the administrators can do nothing about your harrassing calls. Also, it is a SCAM no matter how good it sounds or how nice "that sweet girl on the phone" sounds. She's paid to talk to you nicely because they know you are probably lonely. Don't fall for it and never give out your credit card numbers to anyone who calls you. :)

I think I am going to follow Umbra's lead on this one.  I get one or two calls from these idiots a week.  I think I'll invest in a whistle just for this purpose.  I'll press one and let the idiot on the other end get into their schtick and then blast 'em with the whistle.

May not stop the calls, but it will be fun...

I blocked these people 4 months ago, after repeatably telling them to remove me off thier list and they would just hang up.  Well the block must have expired 'Ann' called today and asked to be removed from list and they just hung up!  I'm also on the national do not call list!

What I do with these a***oles is goad them into talking as long as possible, then thank them for staying on the phone long enough for the trace to be completed. Ask them if they are in Jacksonville Florida then tell them the FBI will be paying them a visit. They hang up usually before you can finish saying FBI. Its somewhat satisfying. The whistle idea is good to, but make sure they are listening first.

Starts with, "Do not be alarmed."  Then threatens to close a credit card account (or something) unless I dial '1' now.  No identification given.  Last call 12/13/08 at 3:11 PM.  Have had our phone number changed, but still get calls an average of once a week.

I think this company uses many ph#s over a period of time. I keep track of all my C/ID listings. I've received suspicious calls for the past year & a half under 904, 954, 850, 305, 407 & even 000 or so I've researched so far.  They always have some spiel about trying to get my personal information. I usually tell them that I'm on the do-not-call-list & to remove my # from their list & when they call back I tell them that I've reported them to the Federal Trade Commission for donotcall violations. Report them to the FTC. Report all the #s. Yes annoying, though if we don't fight back we're part of the problem not to solution.

OK here it is. Got a call from the spoofed number stating they would reduce credit card interest rates. Pressed 1 to speak with someone. Listened to their little spill and its basically the same stuff. Heather from account services crap. The place Personal Data Systems is supposedly  run by lawyers under the name My Consumer Law Group.com (Law Group PA). They want a piece of your pocket book by supposedly making payments to your credit card company on your behalf, but of course they would be paid. The office seems to be small with lots of noise in the back ground. They use spoofed numbers and were going to actually send me some BS info packet after I sent them a payment. I gave them a bogus SSN, address, name and date of birth. After listening to the sales pitch, I told him I was in law enforcement and why were they violating the Do Not Call list. Of course he said they weren't and they would be happy to remove me. I've heard they have a high turn over rate and of course they are a scam. I think I scared the daylights out of this guy by telling him what I knew. The calls won't stop because they'll have some other idiots calling you because of their high turn over rate. The only folks who can stop them are the FBI because they are calling across state lines. The FBI can work with Attorney Generals of other states. I'm sure they will change the number that they gave me but call 1-866-659-9866 and ask to speak with Calvin. I told him the entire conversation was being recorded and that the number was being traced. He was paralyzed with fear.

Thanks to the many who have reported this number here!  I now have a handle on this company  (I do not answer calls where I don't recognize the ID and was looking to see whocallsme)  I have just reported the call to https//esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do as they are calling my cell phone circa 6:00AM and then again at 9:04. Not only is it a cell phone, it is ALSO on the do not call registry - of course, donotcall will NOT take any action - they're a paper tiger, scarcely EVER taking action - like was said before, it's a joke.  I think the list is now being USED as a SOURCE of calls - I never had junk calls until I registered the number!  Now I'm forced to ignore any call that is not preprogramed into my cell phone - inconvenienceing legitmate callers who get a recording that says to text or email me for clearance to call.

Got a call from this no.  The automated message was "This is the final call regarding your credit card rate increase.  Press 1 to speak with an associate. Press 2 for..."  When I pressed 1, some guy came on line and hung up when I asked where he was calling from and for what."

When I tried to call back, I get a message: "this no is disconnected".  So be careful and dont give out any personal info if someone calls.

I called the number Tom gave above for Personal Data Systems, 866-659-9866, and the lady who answered said she would take my number off the list. I asked her why her company called since I am on the National Do Not Call Registry, and she said, "M'am, I am just an employee here, but I do know I can get your number off the list.".
I am still reporting them to the registry because their Option 2 on the phone call insinuates that they will take you off, and thus qualifies in my opinion as a request to cease calling. I also am having my phone service block this number.

Got a call asking if I were me (by name) and press one (1) if yes and two (2) if no. Then "Wait while we access your account information." No idea what next. Lookup says Florida. Following this, began getting calls with same MO with "This is your last chance to lower your credit card interst rate."
