Daytime call, I answer but caller disconnected. I try to call back, but an automated message saying, "Verizon cannot complete connection," or something to that effect.

Number called twice (once daytime and one at night) but never answered the call because of not knowing the number.

Calls my cell every 2 hrs during business hours; try to call back on cell and get message " due to verison... call cannot be connected" or from landline "due to telephone systems..." what do we do?

Called at 8:37 pm.  Woman claimed to be calling on behalf of the Philadelphia Tribune.

Called 11:23am on 9/30/08....have called previously and they just hang up.

How did these people get this number?

I just received a call from this number.  Who is it?  I tried to call back and it a recording saying that the number is disconnected plays over and over again

I got a call from that number while i was in class so i let the call go to voice mail. Literally 5 minutes afterwards i called the number back and it said "Number is not in service"

I have been called several times by this number and it shows up on my phone Newspaper sales! I have not suscribed to ant newpapers and the odd thing is I live in the Atlanta area and a 904 Area code is from the Jacksonville Fla area, When I tried to call the number it was disconected! go figure!

I have been called several times by this number and I DIDI NOT NOT TAKE CALL BECAUSE IT Had A DIFFERENT AREA CODE FROM WHERE I LIVE TRY TO CALL BACK AND SAID THAT # IS DISCONECTED I RECIVE 2 CALLS DAY TIME

scam for sure. this bs number shows up on my phone 3 times a week.
When you call the number back its disconected.

Call comes every couple of days caller id says "newspaper sales", no answer or message

I posted up there but after reading the post above mine I thought it would be interesting to share that I live in the same area as the Berkshire Eagle but have not been called by a person, its a dead line when I answer and the silence always lasts 3 seconds and then they hang up.

I have gotten called by this number at least 5 times in the past month. Every time I pick up its a silence that lasts for 3 seconds and then the number hangs up. I've called back and it says "The number you have reached is not in service. This is a recording". I'm planning on  going to my Verizon store sometime soon, I don't know what they can do, but, this has gotten quite annoying it always interrupts something.

He calls me about the same time each day. For about 4 days now.
He never leaves a message, and always hangs up.
We tried to call him back but it said something like "This number is not in service."

I think these people are from applied bank.
They called me as well.
Most of you whom have had these calls.. have prolly had unkname unknown calls from them as well.. or other cell phone calls or calls you do not know either.
The best thing to do is what i did.
I called the annoyance peopole of our phone comapny and let them know. Then i called the Fedral Trade commission who made a report about it.. and they can and will make more if you allow them this information that is happening to you.
We must stop these people from invading our lives. It is obvious that some peoplke are greedy and trying to make a buck off innocent people.
Also.. turn this number into the genral attorny's office and your local police.
Record everytime you get a call and report them so they stop.
This newspaper sale thing is a scam.. as is Applied Bank.

This is a predictive dialer.  I get about 20 or so hang-ups in a two-hour period every few weeks.  Don't bother to call the number back - they have a fake "system down" answering machine message rigged up to their phone.  In fact, if you call from your number, you're sort of just giving them ammunition to continue since you're confirming that there's a live body on your end.

The call came regarding a Berkshire Eagle (newspaper) subscription. Simple telemarketing call. I think they provide sales resources to many other publications as well.

They never leave a message.  I'm on the Do Not Call list and have been for a while so they shouldn't be calling in the first place but now they have called twice today.

Again called w/ no message left!
