I keep getting calls from this number. How can I stop it?

My caller ID said......District 2 and I did not answer the call.  They also did not leave a message.

They asked for my husband and hung up when I said he wasn't home.

Just spoke to Florida Police Benevolent Association and they, too, stated that they do not solicit for funds out of the Starke office.

I called the main number given to me by the FPBA 1(800)733-3722 and was given a legitimate fund raising number for the Florida Highway Patrol - 1(800)894-9555.  People can call to donate using the 1(800)894-9555 number if they want to help, BUT the FHP does NOT solicit, either.

It gets me that these impostors are out there hounding people by being demanding and rude.  Those that want to help are being ripped off, those who might have wanted to donate won't because of the way they are being treated, and the police programs for the community aren't benefiting... not to mention these frauds are making the police department look bad and it's not even them at all.

Contacted JSO in Jacksonville and asked if this number is real.  They were very nice to offer information and told me that "Sheriff's Office" or "Police" should pop up on the caller ID and not just a 904 number if the caller is truly associated with their office.  I was told NOT to give out banking/credit card/checking information or send money because she believes that the people calling are NOT associated with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Department of Police Services.

I then called the Clay County Sheriff's Office and they said that they DO NOT solicit money - Absolutely NO soliciting.  The CCSO made it perfectly clear that they are not associated with the people calling asking for donations.

They call daily but leave no message. I have no idea who it is.

I get the same call 2-3 times a day I just hang up on them. Dont know and dont care what they want just hang up on them.

These folks continue to call posing as a "police" orginization asking for donations.  In my opinion they are not legitimate; I am reporting them to the local Police Unit.
