I get about 10 calls per week from the Florida # 904-863-0217. Some gang that wants to give me lots of unlimited credit at incredibly low rates. I am on both the National and Canadian "don't call list " . We of course  blocked the # they call from. Problem is they seem o hv various other numbers that get thru. They call mornings and nights. Will this ever end? Hope so.

Entered our number on national call list last week and now receiving this type of telemarketing call 2 - 3 times per day.

I have now received three hangups from this number.  Background noise is busy (call centre).  Yet again, another number reported.

Caller Rang to Cobourg, ON Phone Number, I picked up the call just as the answering machine started . I Stopped the ans machine just as it said "Hello and Welcome...." and then the lady on the end of the line was trying to talk to a greeting, I then said hello? Hello? several times, but by this time the caller had hit disconnect from her end.  Funny thing though, I Use [Feature - Call Number ID] and the machine said this number , but when I pressed the digit 1 to connect as provided in the feature , it failed. SO be wary of SIP Internet calls, and add this number to you Do-Not Call Blocking software.

Called and said credit card was over limit and to press 1 - NO NAME given

Called to tell me "Congratulations! You have won a trip to FL."
Not interested in their sales pitch.

I've received a few calls from this number and when I've answered the phone, they get part way through the automated message about lowering credit card rates (after saying that they've tried numerous times to reach me) and then there's dead silence.

After numerous automated phone calls giving a vague description of a credit card company - I finally pressed #1 to speak to a person - this person told me they represented VISA and M/C (but could not tell me the name of the banks the cards are drawn on) - I told her she was involved in a criminal activity - as I expected, she became verbally abusive - as long as they stop calling me, they can swear at me all they want!! :)

I've alerted both respective VISA and M/C banks that I deal with - they indicated that they are aware and are investigating - but also pointed out that disputed purchases will be void from card holders invoices.

Had a call from this number a few minutes ago and, because I have a relative living in Florida, I thought it to be her that was calling.  No message was left.  However, a few nights ago, I received a recorded message excitedly informing me that I had won a $2,200 trip to Cancun, Mexico, and to press '1', or something like that.  I didn't, nor would I ever!

Don't answer numbers I don't recognize, phone was beeping no message left, they probably got a blast from my fax machine in their ear.

We are constantly getting these called, I have requested that we be removed from calling list and it still continues call us.  This is part of a Nigerian Fraud another number associated with them is 403-648-9228.  Be very careful and DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO THESE GUYS.  The credit card and police are very aware of them.

Same things as above, wish they'd stop calling, feel like I pay for a phone so scammers can call me rather then friends or famiy ,,, drives me crazy

just received a call from this number 904-863-0217 and when i answered they told me it was a credit card company and they wanted to lower my rates and that they were trying to get a hold of me several times, i got through to a person and it was loud like a call center and when i asked the guy what company he represented?, He proceeded to hang up on me. When i called the number back it was an automated message that wanted me to confirm to be taken off their call list and that it would take up to 72 hours to be taken off the list....

Do NOT give these guys ANY info.  They call from various numbers (I have 3 of their numbers currently blocked) and use various techniques to reel you in (the trip, lowering your credit card rates and I believe there was one about my car insurance as well - funny since I don't own a car...).  They are trying to get personal info to scam you.  If you press ANY number on your phone they increase the call volumes to your home.  At one point I hd them calling me 2 or three times a day from 2 different numbers.  If you request to be removed, they will hang up on you (or possibly swear at you them hang up) and them likely call you again within an hour or two.  I have reported them to my credit card company, as well as to my phone agency and the only way I have gotten the calls to stop is to have their numbers blocked.  Of course it appears that as I block them they find a new number to call from a few months later... I have been dealing with their harassing calls for over a year now.

Call came in today. Recorded message asking for donations for our troops. My baby was screaming at the time. I pressed 1 to talk to an operator and let the nasty on the other end listen to that for a while. Kept hearing her say "Hello. Hello. Hello?" Made me laugh!

But anyway beware that they have a new 'pitch'. Down-low and disgusting vermin.

A recording from some crooks claiming to offer cheap credit card rates. Obviously a scam.

I just got a call from this number but it was very jarbled and like it was a recorded message that was sped up. I kept saying hello and this message kept going...it sounded like fast chinese..and then it just stopped.

These A$$H0&*!! call our house at east twice a week. We are sick of it. What the hell can we all do to stop this?? If a citizen does this, they can be charged with harrassment, why can't this so-called company be forced to stop?? I'm in BC Canada, any suggestions out there for us??

Same scam about lowering interest rates.  I've told Phone busters, Ontario Police and the RCMP about these folks.

I highly recommend anyone else who got this type of call to do the same.

Why are these US call centers calling Canadians? How do they get our numbers? It's an invasion of privacy and harassment. The "do not call" list is a crock of BS. I don't know a soul in Florida (company or individual), and I don't give out my number to anyone . . . so who sold my phone number?

Got a call from them today, but wasn't home and didn't answer.  I work for a credit card company.  We will NEVER ask for your card number in an outbound call.  We have it already to call you if it is in fact a legitimate call for fraud. ;)  And interest rates will be lowered automatically if you're eligible, no contact required.

As for how US companies are getting Canadian numbers, the DNC list for Canada is available for $50, and does not apply to US companies.  They're buying it to use for telemarketing.
