Collection agencies have to stop calling you once you ask them to cease. If they don't, you can sue them, especially since you are telling them you are not the debtor .

just so you know if anything happens to their hearing you can get charged for it i heard a story about something like that happening

Hey, Capital One, did it ever occur to you that some of us receiving these calls do not have credit cards or owe anyone anything??  Hence the reason why we're wondering who the f*ck this company is???  I'm not home to answer their calls and they don't leave voice mails.  I guess you have the menial, minimum wage job, doing call outs for this company or some other basement telemarketer.

They identify themselves as "Allied International Credit."

AIC in NewMarket Ontario. Bell or some other service answers: "We cannot complete the call as dialed". They call with the above number displayed but it's not a call back number (at least not today).

Pay your credit card bills, instead of just racking up useless crap and not paying for them, and you won't get these calls

Strange that a U.S. company keeps calling me about an overdo debt and I live in Canada and have no overdue debts. Also my phone number is an unlisted number and no banks or any other financial institutions would even have this number on file because its just something I never give out.

This Number keeps calling me at all hours and even sent me a Lawyer's note and Credit Card Companies DO NOT HAVE ANY RIGHT HERE IN CANADA TO DO SO....I have checked with the BBB and Lawyers have NO RIGHT to be collecting Debts for them....ALLIED INTERNATIONAL IS HARASSING PEOPLE and threatening them to pay their Debts!!! DUMB A** PEOPLE - ALLIED INTERNATIONAL!!!

I keep mesages from this Number as well AND my Credit Card has been in FULL and PAID OFF...yet I keep getting calls...Flaming "Allied International" and they are based in the US. I have checked with the BBB in Canada and they have no Legal Jurisdiction in Canada to harass people over a Debt - this is according to what I was told verbally. I am just waiting to have this Documented to me writing.

Yup Allied International.... they are brutal. I do owe cap one money but haven't been able to find work in 2 1/2 years, am in the process of losing my home and car, have no food for groceries etc. - Not fun being down and out in Canada esp if you've taken min wage jobs to get by - now i don't even have UI.  Anyway i told them that unfortunately they're low on my list of priorities and I cannot make any promises to them since I don't know how i'd keep them.  And quite frankly cap one has been charging usurious (sp?) interest rates for so long they've got their money back.  Allied Internationals response? Keep calling - 10 or 20 times a day!!!  They're unsecured creditors so this is their only option.  Believe me if i could, I'd pay them, so ... don't know what to do.  But hey once I lose my home I won't have a phone so the problem goes away.

Has called 6-7 times each day several days at 7:20am, I assume it's for capital one, as this seems to be the case with most of the posts on here and I do happen to be behind in my payments to them. I do intend to pay them and have told them so just times are tough right now and when I have to choose between diapers for my son, or give them my last 20 bucks, what do you think I'm gonna choose. I will be reporting them to the consumer protection agency after reading a lot of the posts on hear and the laws of what they can and can't do. some very good info thank you very much. I hope your unwanted and harassing calls stop or are sorted though.

Is it true then that they are also not allowerd to call before 9am? And what about when we tell them that person no longer lives at this address? Or they don't listen to a word we say and talk down to us?
Times are tough right now and just because they have a "good" paying job harrassing people doesn't mean they have a right to critisize others and make other people feel useless.
They keep calling about an account I no longer have and haven't had for over 3 years. They won't listen to anything I say and I have basically been called a lier. Do you know what I can do? Hope you can give me some advice.

I got a call from this number twice today to my cell phone, which I don't give out to many people. I looked it up at 411.ca because they didn't leave a message and the number wasn't found.

I am receiving these phone calls at 7am every morning and when I pick up they hang up on me. I would like this to stop, as I have no reason for them to be contacting me. Someone could have given them my number for some unknown reason.

This number called our house 5 times in one morning.  I called it back, but it was not in service.  After researching the number on the internet, I found that the company "Allied International" had several fraud complaints against them in which police were involved.  This seems to be a scam.

they just called cell phone, house phone and my mothers!!! are you kidding me!! Capital one mastercards.. already told them what was happening here.. they called my work to till i got my manager to intercept!! Freaks!!

I received a number of calls from this number over the last 3 days - maybe 7 calls - after reading this thread I challenged the caller as to who they were - she said Capital One - I said Allied International Collection - after a bit of back and forth of her telling me that she was Capital One she slipped and agreed that her pay check did not come from Capital One - she then asked for the person and when I said they weren't available she hung up.

They seem to like to call at 7:15 in the morning - I wonder if they would like to hear an air horn to start their day?

You can complain to the FTC all you want about this company, and it won't do any good.  They moved to Canada so they would be exempt from the US lawas about harassing people.
