I received the same call multiple times from different numbers that didn't show on my caller ID during the live call but my phone stored the most number recent call today as "1905002504004". (07/19/2011). From what I can tell it is Malaysia or India. I pressed "2" to talk to them and told them that I had blocked five different numbers from them and researched them on the web to find that they are a SCAM trying to get you to supply them your credit card information. The guy, with an Indonesian-type accent, told me "F***K You, then block seven because we are not going to stop B*TCH!"
I called the AT&T Operator who told me I would need to call their business office between 8-5. Beauty! I'm sure that will be a grand waste of time!
Long story short ... THIS IS A CREDIT CARD THEFT RING! Don't give them a bit of information, and DNC registry will do nothing about it and you can't block them because the number doesn't fit into a "call blocking" entry, at least with AT&T.
My suggestion .... if you answer the call and press whatever number to talk to a representative have a compressed air horn (like from a sporting goods store for a boat distress signal) and blow their damned ear drums out!!! It probably won't help, but might make them stop calling ... or at least make YOU feel better!
If by some unfortunate chance you HAVE talked with these people and given them ANY information I would recommend that you IMMEDIATELY contact Experian or TransUnion credit reporting bureaus and let them know what happened and have a fraud alert put on your accounts. Seriously .... I mean it. You might not see any issues for two or three months, and then all of the sudden your credit card will be maxed out, or they will take the sneaky approach of just "nudging in" charges on your card that will have obscure descriptions on your bill and you won't even notice it unless you really scrutinize your bill. Done to enough people they can skim millions off of peoples accounts!
May God make SCUMBAGS like these dirt slime roast in Hell.
God Bless, and best of luck!

I just got a call on my home phone (land-line) from this number. Weird the way it showed up on call display -- tel. no. only displayed in both the name and number sections of the display. They left no message on my answering machine. Obviously in ""905" area code means it originated in the Greater Toronto Area.
I have no idea who it is, and that's why I didn't answer. That's why we have answering machines!

Robo call to lower credit card interest rates.
905-233-4214 is also spoofing as 000-000-0000
Will report to both US and Canadian authorities.
$16,000 + $15,000 fines EACH call for each country = $31,000 fines PER call when

Go buy a LOUD whislte or one of those loud horn cans that they blow at sports games and keep it by your phone. Then, when these types of calls come in, press the number they want, and talk really quietly, as though you are interested in their service. They will have to turn up their headset to hear you, and while you are talking, blow the whistle or horn into the phone and then laugh at them and hang up.

I got a call today too! It was a voice recording. The woman talked about my lower interest credit card and they had been trying to contact me for some time and that I would loose my low interest.... I pressed 2 and they said they had removed my number from their list and then the call ended. Weird!!

This is a scam. I registered a complaint with the CRTC. They are aware of it and are working with US law enforcement to try to find who is responsible. The calls are originating in the States and routing through the 905 233 4214 number.

Evidently the same 'lingo' as the 'Want to relieve your Credit card debts?' as the number from Malaysia area code. Why they enlisted the 905 landline is a MYSTERY. They could be trying to make themselves seem legitimate!! Really is making me quite angry that our (the world) governments ALLOW these CON ARTISTS to continue to PHISH & PREY on people who may actually be looking for 'debt assistance'.

These people wish to reduce your credit card interest rate. They called our home several times when we were not at home We are on the Cdn. Do Not Call Registry. They obviously do not scrub their lists before annoying people several times. I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry. I hope they get nailed.
